  1. OMGoodness, you have had quite an ordeal!! I am so glad you are ok...it sucks that you have to wait...I am in the waiting game too....but your life is more important...isn't that why we are doing this??? I am surprised that a doctor suggested diet pills...I guess as long as they are prescribed they must be safe, but it's a scarey realization when they so seriously counteract with anesthetic. Well, I hope everything works out ok for you...and you get your surgery done on the 18th...best of luck! Cathy
  2. You absolutely deserve to treat yourself, this is not an easy thing you are doing and any reward for a job well done, is well deserved. You go girl! And don't feel guilty..if you are like me, you do everything for eveyone else and think of yourself last...but you need to keep Mama happy. If Mama's not happy, nobody's happy!!! Take care Cathy

  6. Thanks Kimmie, I suspected that might be an issue, but I guess it's temporary, like the liquid diet...right?? Once you start on solids does the diarrhea go away? Cathy
  7. My question relates to the post -op liquid diet period where you are not ingesting food...do you pee a blue streak? Do you get the diarrhea? I haven't seen any feedback on this subject...and just wanted to know. Thanks Cathy

  14. Wow, good for you, it sounds like you kept your sense of humour before, during and after. Glad you are doing so well, keep us up to date as time goes by...enjoy your shopping trip...buy some cute clothes 2 sizes too small...by summer you'll be in them this time! Enjoy, Cathy
  15. Now that'a miracle, isn't it!!! There are so many amazing reasons for all us to do this for ourselves! Even if you wanted to eat a whole quart of chocolate ice cream on a rough day, you can't!! LOL!! Cathy

  17. Hi Carol, I am having my consult at the Credit Valley Clinic in Mississauga (Eglinton Ave)...is there the same one? I haven't had surgery yet, but hope to in the next couple of months...so we are in the same boat right now! Take care Cathy
  18. Did I see STEAK!!! And I thought I would never have steak again! I guess I would have to chew it liquid though right? I am a Canadian meat and potatoes gal, hense the need for the band....but a nice peice of steak and a little potato would hurt once in awhile right?   23. Welcome Wendy, Best of luck with your surgery! You will find this forum an excellent support system both moral and information. The gals are great and beyond helpful. I haven't been banded yet myself, I have my first consult on April 16/08 here in Ontario Canada and hopefully will have a date soon. I guess you will be leaving soon...safe trip, keep in touch with us and let us know how everything went....Cathy
