  1. The visitor came and left last week... with no change at all to my weight (I thought I'd drop some water weight, but nooooooooooooo! LOL!) I really don't understand how it is physically possible to eat/drink so little and GAIN a pound. Very strange indeed. ;-) I'm not letting it get me down though. I've dropped lots of weight lots of times... it'll happen.
  2. Go to "My Controls", and then click on "Edit Avatar" on the left side of the screen. Then upload your photo. :-)
  3. Woo hoo! I'll bet it feels great to eat again! I'm still afraid to eat real food (I've been eating 1,000 calories or LESS, and I managed to somehow GAIN a pound instead of losing anything this week), so I had another EAS shake this morning.
  4. I get to eat "real food" tomorrow... I'm so excited that I get to eat that salmon that's been in my freezer all month! I don't even think I want anything to go with it. But I'll try to down some veggies, just because I should.
  5. I'm a chugger. I hope I don't have to start sipping after my fill... I'll be dehydrated for sure. I'm much too impatient and busy to sip as much water as I need in a day (especially if I can't drink any with a meal). *sigh*
  6. The last think I remember was being in my room and a few people coming in and talking to me and putting something in my IV, and then I was out. I also woke up in my bed/room. I'm confused about how some people walked in the OR, some people are put in a wheelchair, and some of us never remember leaving our rooms. Very strange...
  7. I did the pre-op diet, and lost 11 lb. in 1 week. Which sucks, because in the almost 3 weeks since the surgery, I've only lost another 8. LOL! (And I've been eating only between 500-800 calories per day) *sigh* I'm guessing I'm in "starvation mode", but I'm afraid to eat any more. Crazy, huh?
  8. The day of my surgery (3/19/08), my BMI was 32. So far, so good. I'm down to a 30 now. :-)
  9. I just noticed you're in Idaho too... where are you located? I'm in Boise.
  10. I don't recall getting oxygen - unless they did it when I was out cold. I had horrible shoulder pain for about 5 days, and now only mild pain when I eat/drink too much/too fast.
  11. For me, it was when a 20 year old starting chasing me. He was 6'7, hard body, and drop dead gorgeous... and I realized, there was no way in h*ll I'd ever let him see me naked the way I looked. Obviously, he has no problem with me the way I am - but I don't want to feel self-conscious about my body in intimate situations (it's so much less fun when you worry about how you look from every angle. LOL!) The poor dear thinks I'm not interested because I keep brushing him off... but soon enough he's going to be pleasantly surprised. LOL!
  12. I'm due for my first fill around April 30, and I'm planning on going back to TJ. It will cost me the same to fly down there as it would to pay to have someone here do it. I'm more concerned with someone screwing it up, and I'm far more confident in Dr. Ortiz and his staff than in American doctors.
  13. I admit that it bothers me when people type in all caps... and I will skip over many posts (especially if they are long ones) if they are written in that style because it gives me a headache. So while it's a personal preference for someone to type that way, it's my option to ignore it. Nothing personal - it just hurts my head. :-) I will say however, that it would benefit those who write this way to at least try to conform. Just as punctuation indicates the tone or intent of a comment ("What!??!?!", "I want to eat solid food!!!!!!", etc.), so does all caps. Just sayin'...
  14. I was dependent upon painkillers for the first week when this happened. It wasn't so bad if I raised my arm above my head, but as soon as I lowered it, there it was again. Now the only time I get the shoulder pain is if I eat/drink too fast or too much.
  15. I've been addicted to the Minute Maid soft frozen limeades. Cherry is my favorite. :-) That is typically the last thing I eat at night (my little "reward" for being a good girl on my diet). They are so yummy! (And cheap)
  16. I was 204 the day before surgery - and the day after, when I went for a walk, I snuck back on the scale and it said I was 214 (damned water weight)!! And I was wearing a hospital gown instead of the jeans and tennis shoes from before. LOL! Today, I weighed in at 198 (10 days after surgery) - so I've lost 6 lbs in that time.
  17. They knocked me out in my room I think... because that's the last thing I remember. I know I laughed so hard when this guy handed me my gown and paper undies which he called "Victoria's Secret panties".
  18. I had the horrible pain at the port site too. I took it easy for 2 days, and it practically went away (it's only tender now - I don't want to die every time I sneeze). It does get easier, and better. This wasn't anywhere NEAR as bad as the tummy tuck I had done 10 years ago. OUCH!
  19. You are not being ridiculous! Don't ever think that. Good luck with your banding! Mine was done 3/19. BTW, my highest weight was 222. UGH!!! Brandi p.s. I totally licked a pizza roll tonight. My kids laughed at my desperation. Heh.
  20. Another confession... with so much sweet stuff (yogurt, juice, popsicles, etc.), I've resorted to pulling a chip out and licking the heck out of it - just for some saltiness and flavor (BBQ Pringles are the bomb).
  21. I only put my knife and fork down between bites if I am on a first date. LOL!
  22. I was just banded a week ago, and was having a bit of difficulty with only liquids. I wasn't hungry at all, but I missed the flavors of foods I loved. It was especially hard since I have kids and I still had to cook food for them that I can't eat yet. LOL! I came up with a totally disgusting solution. I put a very small amount of what they are eating in a bowl, and I take a bite, chew it slowly... enjoying the flavor... and then I spit it in the garbage. I haven't had to take more than 3 bites of anything before I had that craving go away. Like I said... totally gross. But it's working for me. I will admit that I tried this with one of those Reese's easter eggs (the small one) and it simply dissolved in my mouth. I HAD to swallow. I ate the entire piece (80 cal). I'm so bad. Heh. So stay away from chocolate, it dissolves and you can't really spit it out. :-)
  23. NO PAIN?!? I'm so jealous! I was only mildly sore, and then Friday I started having really sharp pains at the port site every time I turned my body, sat down or stood up. And I would have rather died than sneeze again. LOL! It's getting much better though. Glad everything is going well for you! Brandi
