  1. AWESOME!!! You're doing so well, you're going to pass me up pretty quick! (I'll wave to you as you speed by... LOL!!!) You go girl!
  2. Congratulations!!! You are a stronger woman that I am. I cheated once with a pizza roll... and I was a chronic chip licker. LOL!
  3. You go girl!!! I'm really afraid of losing my boobs. I like them just the way they are... (I had a reduction 10 years ago)
  4. All we can do is TRY, right? ;-) I know how it is with kids... mine are whining that I am the one who needs to lose weight, not them, so why am I punishing them. LOL!
  5. That's rough! Congratulations on getting through it. I've been lucky in that I haven't had to go anywhere, and I can control what's being cooked in my house - which GREATLY reduces temptation.
  6. Hey, that's a good idea!! I might have to steal that one. :-)
  7. So it seems there's a lot of frustration on the board lately. Some people have hit plateaus, some are not losing (or losing as fast as they would like - and hey, I'm in that boat too!), and some may have gained a pound or three. But we all know that weight loss isn't just about fitting into those skinny jeans again. It's about getting healthy too. It's about learning new eating habits. Getting into those jeans is just the icing on the cake. So... tell me something you did today in accordance with your long term weight loss goals that you are proud of. For instance, yesterday, when I picked up my oldest son from his fast food job, he had a bag of food with him (chicken sandwich and mac & cheese bites) and was smelling up the whole car with it. We drove down the street and my 10 year old son complained about being hungry too, so we pulled into Jack in the Box and I got him a chicken sandwich and me, an ice water. I was seriously tempted to order something (that chicken smelled so good!) - even something low cal, like the chicken fajita pita - but I didn't give in to temptation. Today, my milestone was getting up and eating something within half an hour (I usually wait an hour or two, which isn't good for the metabolism). It's hard for me to do that, because I'm not hungry as soon as I wake up - but I know that it will help me in the long run. What did you do? Did you have the strength to say no to someone's birthday cake at the office? Take the stairs instead of the elevator? Park at the end of the parking lot to get a little extra exercise? Order a burger without a bun? Do tell... ;-)
  8. One more pound lost! YAY! Yesterday, all I had were two protein bars (a PureProtein bar - 20 g. protein and 190 cal, and a MET-Rx Big 100 Colossal bar - 32 g. protein and 410 cal - those things are HUGE!) and a piece of lettuce... oh, and lots and lots of water. Gotta say, I didn't feel hungry at all. I'm sure this isn't good to do long term, but I am taking my vitamins every day and am only going to continue through the end of the week. I am seriously trying to drop 10 lb. before the 24th (I'm having a business event at my home) - 2 down, 8 to go.
  9. I've heard two explanations... 1. it washes food through the pouch, thereby making it ineffective, and 2. if you eat, the food blocks the stoma, so that if you drink with your meal, you are filling up the pouch with liquid and thereby, expanding it. Obviously, you can choose to drink with a meal if you like... but your results will not be as great, and you run the risk of expanding your pouch.
  10. My port pain went away a little over two weeks after surgery. I feel a lump under my skin at the incision site, but I don't know that that's my port - I think it's scar tissue. I have no idea where my port is. LOL! (I can only feel the scar tissue) The no drinking rule is forever. I'm sure you could eat cereal as long as you don't wash it down with a glass of water (or a whole glass of milk) afterwards.
  11. Ok, my weight was 190, then 191, then 192, then 190... and today? 189! I have totally cheated - couldn't do all liquids with what I had going on this week, but was doing a protein bar, a lean cuisine and a shake every day. I've gotten a bit more exercise than normal, and I think I'm gaining muscle too (I really wanted to see those pounds drop - but as long as I'm in the next lower 10 lb. bracket, I won't complain). I won't gross anyone out, but I've been kind of plugged up all week, and I don't think that's helped the scale. I'm just so happy to be in the 180's!!! And knowing that I have no restriction yet (I've eaten meals a couple of times that have rivaled what I ate pre-band) makes every pound that much sweeter. Yay me! (Boo fat! LOL!)
  12. My hungry days were due to PMS. *sigh*
  13. I totally did it! Went to all my favorite restaurants and ate all my favorite things - just in case I wouldn't ever be able to enjoy them again.
  14. I'd only vote for San Diego if it was a definite that Dr. Ortiz would be there - that's the only draw there. Otherwise, I'd have to vote for VEGAAAAS BABY!!! (I have a weakness, and I'll take any excuse I can to go back for some more roulette)
  15. The Bomb? I think as far as incendiary devices go, I'm more of a 4th of July sparkler... but thanks! hehehe Double chins can be a little difficult - I'm working on a photo now for my website. It's of me standing next to something I won an award for - and I look HUGE. NO WAY that is going on my website as it is. LOL!!
  16. 4 lbs?!? That's nothing... you'll be there in no time. :cheerleader:
  17. Photo editing programs are the bomb! I can barely stand to look at myself in the mirror right now, but when I made myself smaller, I was so excited about how close I am to actually looking like that again! If anybody wants me to work some magic on a photo, let me know. I did it once for a friend who sent photos of herself to her high school reunion when she couldn't attend - and she had me whiten her teeth and shave about 50 lb. off of her. It really is motivational to see yourself looking so sexy (even if you aren't there yet).
  18. These past couple of months haven't been for nothing Paula! You've lost 31 lb.!!! Your needs are carrying around 31 less pounds! That is amazing! I know how we all wish it would just happen overnight (mine goes slow, I feel like I'm not losing ANYTHING until I recall where I was 2 months ago), but taking it slow really is the best way (said by someone who dropped 60 lb. in 6 weeks and ended up in the hospital one step away from total kidney failure). You also need time to see how your fill and stomach will react. Doesn't it take a few (or several) days to kick in? Keep your chin up hon. :-)
  19. I was playing around on the computer today... I can't wait!! :-)
  20. I have T-Mobile, and I had NO service at all in Mexico. Good thing I was able to call the US free from the clinic so I could check in with my kids.
  21. I add a couple of tablespoons of peanut butter to the chocolate EAS shakes, and not only do I get more protein (and more calories), but it tastes REALLY good. I throw a tablespoon of Fiber Sure in there too - just for good measure. ;-)
  22. GasX didn't work at all for me (in fact, it made me feel worse). Someone suggested Phazyme, and I've had success with that. Perhaps you should try something else to help with the gassy feeling.
  23. WHEEEEEEEE!!! I feel like we're recruiting members into a cult. But a good cult. lol!
