  1. I've been losing weight steadily (slow, but steady) and decided I wanted to kick it up a notch, just for a week. I'm going back to protein shakes... 2 EAS shakes a day (with 2 T peanut butter and 1 T FiberSure) and an EAS protein bar (I can't do ONLY liquids without feeling deprived, so I'm doing on protein bar per day). I'm going to try to do this for an entire week and see what happens. I am currently at 190, and I really want to get into the 180's quickly. Seems I've been in the 190's FOREVER. Heh. Just wanted to post this here, because it seems when I post a goal online (or say it out loud to someone), I am more apt to achieve it. Wish me luck!!!
  2. I told a few people - and regret telling most of them. Now I am bombarded with "so how much have you lost?!?" and other questions that are none of their business. I only told a few friends because I wanted them to know why I was leaving town (I asked a few to be available for my children if they needed something) so they wouldn't think I was just taking a vacation without my kids or something. I also told a few friends who are overweight, in case they had any questions about it. The only ones I don't regret telling are the overweight friends. Not a single one of them has made me feel embarrassed about it, while the thinner friends keep asking me why I just don't go on a diet again (I can always lose weight without much effort, my problem is not sabotaging myself and re-gaining it), and I don't want to get into all my mental/relationship issues with them.
  3. I'm totally guilty of this. I get sucked into the internet when I have so much other stuff to do. But I simply can't help myself!! I am a member of several different forums (karaoke, cake, this one, etc.) and then there's MySpace, YouTube, FaceBook, online scrabble... where does this leave time for exercise?!? Just like getting my band was a tool to keep me from sabotaging myself, I needed something to help me stay off the internet when I had work to do. I found it here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4476 It's an add-on for the Firefox browser. Don't know if IE has one or not - I use Firefox. I have it set so that I can't access any of my favorite sites between 9a.m. - 12 p.m. and again from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. I haven't blocked e-mail sites and "non-fun" sites (banking, bill-paying, mapquest, etc.) that I may need to access during that time. So far it's been working great. Even though I can "cheat" and circumvent the block, I haven't yet. Who knows, maybe it will help some other internet junkie. :-)
  4. Can we all get cool jackets like the Pink Ladies in "Grease"?!?! :good2:
  5. Michelle posted ticker instructions here: http://www.lapbandforum.com/index.php?show...7&hl=ticker I haven't had a fill yet, because I have never had trouble losing weight when I want to. My problem is deliberately gaining it to get rid of a man (Yeah, I'm totally mental... but therein lies my charm.) I plan on going down this month for my first fill. Good luck with your banding in June - though I'm sure you won't need it. :-)
  6. Feeling a little calmer today? :lb4:
  7. Again?!? What happened the first time? I hope it wasn't anything like happened to me: I had my naval pierced and made the mistake of wearing high waisted jeans and sitting in a sports car. The band of the jeans caught on the ring and when I stood up, it got yanked all the way through and out. VERY painful... and now I have an ugly scar. :-( I've also had my nose pierced, but my body rejected it.
  8. Once I had everything scheduled, I just wanted to go to sleep and wake up after I was banded. I was so anxious, it was all I could think about. Now I know what my kids feel like when I tell them we're going to Disneyland. LOL! I hadn't been on this forum before being banded (I browsed a little at lapbandtalk.com, but some of those horror stories scared me and I stopped), so I too was a little worried about getting conned. But then, I figured if he weren't legit, he wouldn't be on Oprah. Yes, I admit - I put my faith in Oprah Winfrey. Silly, eh? LOL!
  9. =D> YAY!!! =D> Next stop, bikini body! :lb13:
  10. By eating more, you are directing your anger at yourself - and sabotaging your progress and your goals. Direct that anger at that which has put you where you are... the food you take in. Learn to hate it. Start looking at it in disgust. Take that hamburger, stand in front of the mirror naked and slap it on your thighs and see how good it looks there! LOL! I'm sorry... I don't mean to make light of your situation - just trying to make you laugh. You have done great so far, and if you continue, I'm sure you can reach your goal by July. It gets easier with each passing day, and you CAN DO IT!!!! We're here to help make sure you do! ;-)
  11. I think we should start our own swimsuit calendars! You know... now that we're all gettin' so darned HAWT!!! My scars are more red now than they were in the beginning, but they are very small and look more like a fresh scratch than a scar.
  12. Holy crap! I weighed almost as much as the Governator?!?!
  13. Name and Location: BeBe from Boise! Age: 37 Gender: Female Band Date: March 19, 2008 Height: 5'6.5 Highest weight: 222 Current Weight: 190 Goal Weight: 145
  14. 4 out of the 5 days of this month I've done an hour on my stationary bike. Sunday I was hungover... and the most exercise I got was getting dressed. :-)
  15. 1) 37 (but I don't look a day over 21! LOL!) 2) My parents always told me how chubby I was when I was a kid (what normal 4th grader is obsessed with the size of their thighs?), but looking back at photos - I think they were just @$$holes - because I wasn't fat at all. I gained weight with each pregnancy, but could always lose when I wanted to. My issue isn't really weight - my issues are mental. 3) 5 pregnancies, + 4 or 5 deliberate weight gains/losses. 4) Actually, it's slower than before. I'm trying not to "diet" as I had before. I am an "extreme dieter" and once lost 60 lb. in 6 weeks. 5) I've lost 25 lb. total in 7 weeks = a little over 3 lb./week I haven't had my fill yet, and I can still eat as much as I want to. IF I wanted to, that is...
  16. Is this what you're looking for...? http://www.lapbandforum.com/index.php?show...amp;#entry24608
  17. 50 lbs! WOW!! That's like losing a whole Gary Coleman! ;-) Congratulations!
  18. I went out for karaoke Saturday night, and some guy walked by me staring ... and then walked by me again and said "Hey gorgeous!". Granted, I was in a bar (so he was probably drunk), but I felt like singing "I feel pretty" for my next song. :-)
  19. I'll be down this month - just not sure of the dates yet. I'm waiting on my stimulus check, since I've been broke for the last month. (I'm self-employed and refused all orders until I get filled. I don't need the temptation!) LOL!
  20. I can't wait to be asked to pose for Playboy. Don't wake me, I'm dreaming...
  21. Happy belated birthday!!! Sounds like you had a nice one. :-)
  22. Great pics! Is that your husband?!? What a cutie!!!
  23. Thanks for the response. It really took a lot for me to post those... I can barely stand to look at those "before" photos. It's amazing what losing 12 lb. (and a little make-up) can do! LOL! I really posted them because I see so many people (me included) about only losing a few pounds... but when you can see the difference a "measly" 12 lbs. makes, it's not so bad after all. Granted, I'd rather drop it all at once, but I'll take it as it comes and be grateful! Thanks again guys! Y'all made my day. Oh, and Michelle, you can bet on me bringing this dress to Vegas! LOL!
  24. I can NOT believe I posted these. If y'all knew how vain I am, you would understand how hard this is for me. OY!!! Sorry my undies are exposed... and my cottage cheese thighs... Anyway, the top photos are of me at 204 lb. - and were taken a few days after the surgery (around March 25). The bottom photos were taken about a week ago, and I weighed 192. As you can see in the top photos, I couldn't even get that dress over my boobs or hips! What a difference 12 lbs. makes!!! I've since lost another 2 pounds... maybe I'll get that zipper zipped up all the way before my trip to Vegas. :-) My butt looks awfully lumpy in these pictures, but that's just where the darned elastic is cutting into my flab. :lb12:
