  1. After you finished eating I know ... it seems like forever and sometimes I really do have a hard time, especially eating out, but if I can't help it - I'd have a tiny sip anyways Oh, and if you have a chance, I'd go by doing it all at the same day !! I had my pre op and surgery on a Monday (arriving on Sunday evening). Get it over with BTW, I like your new name
  2. Cathy, I wish you the best of luck and will see you in bandland soon
  3. I got 1.9 cc on my first fill, I do have restriction but have no problem eating a lean cuisine or smart choice and if I eat salad, it's probably 3-4 cups .... I am riding the scale 2 lbs up and down for over a week now and already thinking about getting a second fill. I do not think that 2.0 cc is agressive at all, but we all know ... everyone is different. Good luck sweetie, hopefully you get what you need
  4. I'd do the "best band buddy" and have a great time
  5. YAYYY ! Welcome back As you can see ... we all missed you a lot !!!!!!
  6. Happy Birthday Dr. Ortiz ! You are ... simply the best
  7. :lb5: and welcome to bandland :lb10: to the start of your new life !!!
  8. Mona, I am sooooo sorry !!! Always remember ... He knew that if love could have saved him, he would have lived forever > He crossed the "Rainbowbridge" so he would not have to suffer anymore and he wants you and your mom to cerrish the many wonderful memories forever.
  9. :lb10: on your good fill ! You have done great so far, so keep it up and melt them pounds Did you ask Dr. Romero what happend to the missing 0.2cc ?
  10. Sending prayers your way. For him to be safe and for you to be strong! You know he can't wait to come back home to that hot lady
  11. Don't give up !!! You done great so far ! > I wish I would do more exercise :lb12: Now I'm not a specialist, but back in Germany I got my super lazy butt up and started going to the gym like 6 days a week and working out like crazy - but did not loose a pound. I was very frustrated, but the PT told me, that muscle mass is heavier than fat mass, that's why the scale is not showing any loss, but even gaining weight. He told me to measure my arms, hips, legs etc. and I really lost a lot of inches! Maybe that is the reason ? Have you measured yourself ? :lb4:
  12. The use & cost of fluoro is up to each provider. Darlene the NP who is in Roswell/Moultrie GA does not do a fill without the fluoro. I heard some provider (I think in St. Pete FL) do fluoro as well, but not even charge for extra for it, this is something Mckenzie should be able to answer
  13. Yep, know that feeling But after a while I could not see any soup anymore and just felt the same on my first day of solids
  14. Hey Kim Miss your postings ;-) We all have to vent every know and then and we are here to cheer you up! ... 46 lbs ????????? Girl :lb13: Keep your chin up! Maybe you did hit a plateau? Just try to stick with the plan and you'll see the 23rd will be here in no time
  15. Yayyyyy ! :lb16: Welcome to your new an healthier life !!!
  16. Hi Alana, yep, the initial visit/fill/fluoro is a bit expensive, but the following visits/fills/fluoro's drop down to $ 285. I just had my first fill with Darlene (here in Roswell) last Saturday and she really is great! Keep us posted !!!!
  17. Hi Mackenzie! What an amazing job =D> :cheerleader: :party2: WTG !!!! Keep us posted how your 2nd fill went
  18. Thank you Denise! i really hope that it is a good one About the barium ... I would not say that it tastes nasty at all - but not my favorite either. Maybe there are different kinds ??
  19. Hi Cindy, great to hear from you and that you are doing so well. 34 lbs. :lb24: good job !!
  20. Hey Mona > keep your chin up !!! I can imagine that this is frustrating, but hang in there, please Here is a part of Anita's post, which I believe is exactly what we all need to remember: SLOW and GRADUAL is the key! It usually takes 3 to 5 fills to slowly and safely creep up on a good level, and they can be safely given a month apart. Trying to go faster with a bigger fill is not the solution, and the stomach rebels at big sudden fills. The goal of the first few fills is NOT to achieve a good restriction, but to gradually get your stomach used to some pressure so you can tolerate a GOOD fill later. Going slowly with fills can be frustrating but is well worth the wait to avoid problems. I'm very, very unpatient myself and I would like to have lost all the weight already ( 5 weeks post op ), but we did not gain the weight overnight as well, right? :lb4: because :lb13:
  21. Thanks Anita > for the great information ! That is exactly what Darlene (the NP who does the fills in Roswell GA) told me last Saturday on my first fill
  22. Yep, I did it On Saturday, I got my first fill at the Fill Center in Roswell Ga. Like Cindy and Misty already stated ... Darlene the NP who does the fills in Roswell and Moultrie GA is just wonderful !! It was really cool to see my "bandito" for the first time and DH and I were both fascinated by the fluoro and seeing everything ... First, I had to drink the barium to see how it goes through without any fill and then she "loaded" me with 2.0 cc. I had some more barium .. which... backed up right away. I heard a "gurgeling" sound and the feeling like when you fill up a bottle with water and it is about to run over, so she tried 1.9cc and it went slowly through the band. She did that procedure one more time with 2.0 cc to make sure ... but again it was too much ... Darlene took the itsy bitsy 0.1 cc back out and just said "This is it" and smiled. After that she asked me to stay for another 15-20 min having some more water to be on the safe side. It did not hurt at all, it was not even uncomfortable and I am just a happy camper I am still on liquids (with restriction), so I have to wait and see how the fill works when I'm back on solids
  23. Kimmie- you are amazing and so beautiful :lb24: :lb21: :lb13: The smile in your face says it all ! Thanks again for your support
