I was going through the same thing for the past 4 weeks, I couldnt drop ONE pound, I upped my exercise, added strength training and had at least 2 protien shakes a day which kept me full, except for evenings SO what I did was stop exercising for 2 days and went back to liquids as much as of the day as possible -which turned out to be most of the day except night time so I ate a small meal or weight watchers meal - and LOST 1 pound !!!! I don't know why? So I am happy I kicked my body back in mode but at the same time am confused ?? I know everyone is different and there are reasons for everything, but I agree muscle is replacing fat therefore the scale wont reflect that.. So I stay postive. SO keep up the good work, patience is KEY physically and mentally. I constantly remind myself that!!! I see my nutritionist next week, so i will ask him what he thinks? DONT GIVE UP, Accept that the weight will come off in due time.

Oh, I LOVE soups!!! even after I could eat solids again. I found a new love for soup because they are easy on the band and your body. Also, tried new flavors that I had NEVER imagined that I would like. Now, when I am lost for looking for the right solid or just feel like a good meal, I have a soup. I enjoy potatoe, broccoli and cheese , tortilla soup, and chicken noodle by Cambell's Select (which is low in sodium and fat) also enjoy Chicken and Dumplings by Cambell's Chunky (it's not low in sodium, but the calories are not horrible either). Also, what I would do when I found a soup that was too CHUNKY to have early stages, I would add 1/4 cup of water (or more depending on your taste) and blend it on high on my blender for a minute or so, so it would be smooth enough to drink, but not chunky to get stuck for your earrly stage. Then, pour a 1/4 cup of it in a bowl, stick in microwave for about a minute and enjoy= It's great, trust me. I started doing this because I wanted variety. Now that I can eat solids I have soup as a side dish sometimes, because the veggies are really soft, for example if i eat talipia fish i serve myself a side of potatoe, broccoli and cheese soup and its AWESOME, got the veggies, and protien without HIGH calorie intake, plus it's easy, filling and fast...

=D> You are doing GREAT!! I weighed my self the day after surgery at OCC in Dr. Miranda's office I was just curious and I also had gained 2 pounds, but she told me right away that it was normal. So i didnt give it another thought. I'm glad that you are sticking to your post op diet because it is important. It is difficult sometimes, but it's all well worth it! Remember, we did this to better ourselves physically and mentally, it comes with time and patience. -

GOLD stars for me, please -
As for a date I would like to suggest Saturday February 14-16, 2009 because it is also Presidents Day weekend (on 16th Monday, federal holiday most people get day off) which would give us all an opportunity to express our L about our band experience and spend time with the ones we love (mini-vacation) Also, great shopping weekend because there are always alot of sales happening. I also like the fact that it is leaning towards San Diego because we can also make Band camp and get a fill all in one, kinda get two things for the price of one flight Or for those newly banded, they can meet up with veterans and others before they head home. These are my thoughts, I love the name- good job Michelle =D>

Struggling with Food
crazycoolbutterfly replied to Maytee's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
what i've been doing is either drinking water (because you cant eat for another hour after doing so) OR drink a protein shake even if i drink only half. because i figure if i drink a protien shake,or eat a protien bar, i'm getting my nutrients, stay full longer, and dont eat that junk that i really think i want to eat, but know better. it's hard, but i feel better afterwards because instead of eating that slice of cheesy pizza that probably has about 500 cal, and 250 fat grams, i grab a shake or bar which is about 150 cals or drink water.. so far so good another thing that works for me is going to another room where food is not around, or going outside, even if its to go check the mail, chat with a neighbor, something to get my mind distracted. it really is a mental challenge. hope it works for you, good luck.. -

Can we eat lettuce/salad?
crazycoolbutterfly replied to BrooklynIrish59's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
anything soft, juicy, small portions, and easy to swallow. fish is good, weight watchers microwave meals, everything is pre portioned and usually tender... also variety of soups, i know you may be tired of soups, but honestly i love campbells select or healthy request soups because you eat them and are full, without all the calories and fat -
Need Tylenol!!!

i take the tylenol extra strength EZ tabs, they melt with water when you swallow them, and they are smaller than the other tablets... -
