  3. Glad your here. This is a great place for support and info. Any questions just ask. Dawn
  4. Hey again. I got a live post I think. I hope that second opinion Goes better.
  5. I can not believe what your going through. What I can say is I would get a second opinion for sure. Do yourself a favor and get another. Different Doctors have different opinions. I will tell you my daughter has braces and we looked at three doc's and got 3 different courses of treatment. Best Wishes Dawn
  6. Sorry I can not go. I plan on doing my fill in Roswell on July 19. That will be my first fill and that is the earliest I can do it. Maybe I can catch y'all next around. Enjoy. Dawn
  7. Gee I wish I would have known about the dog track. But I do know about the taco stand with great food and broth on the way to the cantina. I also know not to waste your time going to the beach. We were so bombarded with people selling stuff that we could not enjoy it. Also I felt very unsafe. Dawn
  8. What a great goal to set for yourself. I would try to put pics on but as you can see I am computer challanged. I do not have a ticker yet and I have been asked to be peoples friends on some kind of a friend list but I do not even know how to respond. So if your one of those nice people do not think I am a snob. I am just computer stupid. My sister is supose to come set it up for me. My husband normally does this kind of stuff for me. I however have refrained from asking for his help because my weight is my bussiness and not his. At least until I weigh less than him. I know I should not be so prideful but I just can not tell him. I am too embarrassed. I have lost 15 pounds since pre-op and 10 since banding. This is my manual ticker. Dawn
  9. I would like to be a 9 but thrilled if I got to an 11 and dreaming if I made it under a 9. Of course I have always been a dreamer. I really just do not know. I think my body has changed and I do not know what I would look good at. I might just try to keep going until my body stalls out. I think my body will tell me what is a good weight for me. Dawn
  10. Paulafox is right. We ate at the hotel restraunt the day before surgery but that taco stand for was the best. We regreted eatting at the hotel and wished we had saved the room for the taco stand. We did go back and got one right before bed. THE BEST!!! and cheap. Dawn
  11. Wow...I love your post. You keep me inspired. I am on day 14 and can not wait for the 24 of June. Although I am afraid the weight loss will slow down. Your doing great and keep your spirits up. Dawn
  12. The Lucerna has kind of like a 7 eleven right on the other corner across from it with popscicles and bottle water and juices. It is much easier to but it at that shop than travel with it. The hotel gives you two bottle waters a day. Also the little taco stand right down the street had a really good broth. Best Wishes, Dawn
  13. At least I know I am not alone. Although I guess I knew I never was.
  14. You look great! You look so happy with your sucess. I am so happy for you. I can not wait to feel your joy. Dawn
  15. It's been 14 days since my surgery and at first I had a lot of gas pains in my sholder. I did not think much about it because I really expected it. This forum prepared me for it and I knew to walk and walk and walk. However 2 week later I just figured out today I get the gas pains right after I drink a protien shake or danactive or evn a creamy soup. I am fine except when I eat. Is this normal? Did anyone have this problem? My sister just had a hisroectomy and she said her gas was gone in 5 to 7 days. Will I always suffer with the sholder gas pain or am I doing something wrong? I would still take the pain to be thinner but I would still like to know. I hope everyone had a great weekend. Dawn
  16. I am still on liquids and still have 10 days to complete before I can eat solid food. Some days it is really tough and others not so bad. Today I worked and did not have time to think about food to much. BUT when night time comes and I go to bed I start to dream. Let me tell you, Last night I had a great piece of steak and fries followed by a slice of cheese cake drizzled in cholcolate. It was so good and I felt like I could really taste it. By the time I woke up I was so full I had to wait until 11 before I could really eat.(or drink) I wonder what I will have for dinner in my dreams tonight? I might plan a mexican theam. Ya know the cheese dip and salty chips. Nobody give me a hard time here....it's just a dream and as far as I can remember Dr.Ortiz did not warn against dreams. I gotta say it was a very satisfiy dreams. Talk tommorow and happy dreams to all. Dawn
  17. Congrats!!! The next 3 weeks will not be easy but you can do it. Keep strong and think of being sucessful. Dawn
  18. I have not pooped since 3 days befoe surgery. I often have that problem so I was not worried. But is it the milk? I even thoought of going to go get one of those iced coffees because they sometimes start me up. But now it's been 13 days since a poop well today I did one tiny little marble that looked like concrete. I did just take a half dose of milk of mag. My back is starting to hurt and I look pregnant. If I would just take a crap I would lose 10 pounds. Did the milky soups bind me up? Help!!!!!!!Dawn
  19. okay I am reading all these posts and I was told that I could start creamy soups on day seven. So I went and got cream of brocclli and cream of potato and cream of mushroom ...you get the picture. I mix it with a can of milk which waters it down. I thought I was following the guidelines....am I or not. When I called Dr. Miranda she said just to make sure I could drink it. She also suggested higher calorie drinks like milkshakes to get more calories in if I was having a problem. I have not done the milkshake but wont say I wont get to that point. It takes me all day to finish the soup because I am so careful to not overfill. So what is the word. Tell me....... Dawn p.sl post op day 9 and by the way the hunger does kick in.
  20. Yeah!!!!! I am not very good at the whole computer thing either. I am going to have my friend come over to help. We will learn together. Dawn
  21. I do not know the difference between the two surgeries, but do not worry the hunger WILL kick in and it is not fun when it does. I felt a little sore after but went walking all over TJ and went to the San Deigo Zoo the next day. The zoo was tuff but we just kept taking breaks. They told us walking was the best thing for the gas. Does anybody know how long it takes for all the gas to get out. I am 9 days post op and still feel the gas and bloated? Dawn
  22. I can't wait to hear how it all goes. They have computers there so post back!!! Dawn
  23. I just got my band done on June 3rd. I was very nervous about the whole thing and even thought myself a little crazy. I read so many positive things about Dr.Ortiz, the staff, the hotel, and even the clinic. So I decided to not let fear control me. I did study up on it and him for about two years. Than decided to do it. I just came back Saturday. The whole experience was awsome. I always get sick after surgery and I told the Doc's this (as I always do) and for the first time in my life I did not get sick. They took alot of time to listen to me. The nurses were great and very attentive. I was up within an hour and walking around. This was by far the easiest surgery I have ever had. I am in the hard part now and boy is it hard, liquids for 3 weeks. One of the best things of the trip was the friends I made. There were 5 of us all together and we just clicked. It has been great comparing notes. All I can say is STUDY and know this is what you want. I do not think you could find a better Doc in the states. Best wishes, Dawn
