One Week to go, had to cancel
momonamission replied to DaGreen's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
Do not get me wrong, but 1/2 and 1/2 my ass. His half just told you what to do. It is your body and at the end of the day you have to make the choice which is best for you. I know that might sound harsh and I am sorry about that, but if he really loved you he would support you. He would talk to Dr. Ortiz and study it like you have before being a judgeamental ass. He has not walked in your shoes. Does he know that you only have a 10% chance of taking off weight and keeping it off if you are more than 50 pounds over weight. He is living in his world and not yours. Our world sucks. It's hard to like yourself when you do not feel like you have control over your weight. We all gain weight because we over eat, but why do we over eat? Some have childhood baggage and others do it to just have control. There are many reasons and we do not all fit in his skinnyworld. My husband too just did not really understand why I felt the need to do this. He has seen me battle my weight for years with some success followed by failure. He just said this past weekend he is so happy I did it. I weigh less than I have in years and feel better too. He was afraid for me but knew he needed to support me or I would never be happy. (which in the long run would effect him) I finally feel like I have some control and I can see the light in the tunnel. I can not tell you what to do. I just feel anger at your husband for not seeing your life thru your eyes. I will pray for you tonight. Sorry I am such a nasty bug today. Husbands can just make me so mad. -
This has been way too easy
momonamission replied to OICU812's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
Way to go. A posittive attitude will get you far. We did the whole zoo thing too. It was great. I did take it slow. The flight home was the tuff thing. I live in South Carolina so It took all day and my seat would not lean back. But all in all I too thought it was easy. You are in the liquid stage now and I thought that was much more difficult than the surgery. Congrats. -
Getting the band done
momonamission replied to Melissa06's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
I was 214 and did great. I do not know about your hubby. But the OCC will give you the most accurate advice. For me the surgery was a cake walk....or should I say chicken walk or some other kinda protien walk. lol -
Hi Kim- I just had my fill this past Saturday. It was my second one and I know have 2cc. There is a hugh difference this time. I could not tell last time. I would have lost my mind if my fills were as small as yours. But if they give you some restriction than they are doing there job. I just now know what restricion is. I wish you good restriction. Although you have already done great.

You only NEED your drivers lisence and birth cert. however, it will come to a point where you can't wipe your but without a passport. But, your fine for this trip. My husband has a passport already and I think I will get one for me and the kids soon. If you want to go on a cruise or something you will need one. And when I get my new skinny body I might just want to do that. Good luck girl.

Roswell and my second fill
momonamission replied to momonamission's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
I was the first appt. in the morning for Darlene. Than I went back to the hotel for Brad and the kids and I to go downtown and do the tourist thing and the Falcons game. I do not see how yall meet for lunch. All I can do is soup and liquid stuff. I did not have this problem last time. I did not even feel a difference last time. Boy do I now. Well, how did all the Roswell fills go on Sat. And, Julie baby, How ya doin? -
I went this past Sat. to get my second fill. I had a great weekend. My hubby and kids did a braves game, falcon game, sixflags, and the Georgia aquarium. It was awsome as you can see we packed alot in. I got my fill first thing in the morning. I still love Darlene and I think she is great. She explained to me that on my first fill I got 1.6 of a fill but she could only pull out 1.2. She than added .8 which put me at a total of 2 even. She said which meant she really was adding .8 and that was a pretty nice size fill. My first fill I never had any restriction and never felt any different. How ever now anything solid I try to eat gives me that slimmy spit thing in my mouth in 2 or 3 bites. I do not have a problem on soft liquids like soup and shakes. I do not want to get a premature unfill. I remember Michelle having the same problem and wishing she did not do the unfill. I am still hungry because I can not eat solids. How long does this last. I have not thrown up yet, just that slimmy stuff. Each day I think I will be able to eat. Any advice?

My parents arnt letting me get the band
momonamission replied to xoDanielle990xo's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
This was a big enough decision to make for myself. I was willing to take the risks. I do not know if I would make the same choice for my child. It would take alot for me to let my child do it. You will be old enough someday to make grown decisions. This is relativley a new procedure for the US. Future generations will learn from what happens to this generation. Do not be to hard on your parents. The decision comes from love and fear I'm sure. Best wishes. -

This forum is the reason I had the nerve to get the band. I never would have crossed the US ( from South Carolina to Calafornia) and than a border without what I read on this forum. I read this forum for so long and kept reading the same great stuff over and over it gave me the knowledge and confidence to make a decision. When I got to the airport I started a check off list in my head and would say things like that's just what they said on the forum. I felt completely aware and never surprised of what would happen next. Everybody there thought I was a fortune teller because of all the knowledge I had stuffed in my head. Why do I say all this? This forum is a sorce for new people everyday to change there life. On a daily basis I choose to ignore negative people and keep a smile on my face or press ignore. I find that most of those people are really just sad inside and find comfort in hurting others. I would not let those people decide for you to not be on this forum. It is like the drunk uncle that always pinches your butt. Every family has one or sometimes two of those people that show up. Are we not a family because of them? NO .....We are a family despite them. Let them pinch your butt and press ignore. We are here for a larger purpose. To get help for ourselves and support others and inform new comers to have the corage to just do it. The good ole drunk might just give up the ghost and die.(or leave) Thank you for all you have all done for me. There are some real good hearts out there. Oh ....and I am down 4 more pounds. Yeah.....ME!!!! I feel like the turtle but slow and steady still wins the race.

magnesium citrate?
momonamission replied to momonamission's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
I drank the whole bottle as the directions. And I have been having bathroom issues for years. I am either constipated or the other way. It is always the extreme of either end. However, since surgery I have stayed constipated. I am hoping to get some help or find out what the cause is. All of my siblings have the same kind of issues and 2 of them are on meds for it. So now I am adding another hour to the ticker and no movement. -
