Weight not coming off all that quickly
yoyodieter replied to mom12's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
Isn't that a nice feeling good for you. I have several pairs of pants that I can now get into but still a bit snug to wear. I LOVE THE BAND!!!! -
Hi Carolyn2, not sure about the chat but there is a catagory lapband over bypass, just scroll down, from general and before drs. questions. You will figure this site out in no time, If you have any questions its best to post them under general, we all seem to read those. You will love the band.

Need some reasuurance and encouragement
yoyodieter replied to JGirl's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
I always have so much water retention, that if I can't slip my wedding ring off and on easily I won't step on the scales. I know that if I saw a gain, I would just say F#%$ it, and start eating. I try to weigh every wednesday, but again if my rings are tight i wait. I seem to gain over the weekends so I will never weigh on a monday. -
tattoo over tummy tuck scar
yoyodieter replied to yoyodieter's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
Thanks everyone, I had wanted the ugly brown scar covered for so long!! So I was so excited. I love hawaii and that is why I had the hibiscus flowers done. I had tried for 6 years, different creams and shots to have the scar fade, and it never worked, finally I decided for the tattoo, then that is when about 7 different artist said no, but I didn't give up. I found Rick in New westminster BC, Canada at Fat City Tattoo. My hero. As far a pain, it was weird anything in the scar or below didn't hurt, but man, when he started above the scar the pain was all over the place.. figure the nerves are messed up from the tummy tuck, It felt like he was working above my belly button, sometimes the pain was behind my right ear. I know weird but the pain only lasted seconds then he would move on. I am so happy with it. Thanks for looking. -
Good Job =D> =D> , Keep up the good work!

First Fill Without Fluoscopy?
yoyodieter replied to 1jmk's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
I got my first fill last month and they did not use fluoroscopy. It was at the northwest fill center, in Arlington WA. They only use it if you think you have a problem or they can't locate your port. I just layed down and they poked the needle in (after finding the port) and I was done in less than five minutes. And I have restriction so they must of got it right. They have a very good reputation. -
Hi guys, I had a tummy tuck over 6 years ago and the scars never faded. Most of it was brown. it always showed above my swimsuit and jeans. I finally found a tattoo artist willing to tattoo over the scar. (most won't) I just bought the black and white suit, and it is very low rise, I am down 30 lbs. since surgery.

Ok that scares me! I was addicted to that crap for years... The last batch I ordered ofFthe internet cost me $500.00 and it came from India, I think. I'm not even sure what was in them but It wasn't phentermine. Just for a breif moment when I saw that a Dr. well give you a perscription for some, I got a little happy, thinking wow I'm going to find him... Then I came to my senses, I don't need it!!!! With the help of the band I have been able to lose 30 pounds without it. (first time in a long time) I always thought I needed my "legal speed" to lose weight, I had to have an ekg before I even got to the clinic to make sure there was no permanent damage. thank god there wasn't. And another at the clinic, again that one came back fine. So I figure the band was gods way of helping me without meds... sorry I went on and on.. but phentermine was a big part of my life for so long, and one that will be gone FOREVER!!!

Is everyone drinking Protein shakes/drinks?
yoyodieter replied to Kittycat's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
I just keep a few on hand for after I PB, or after a fill. I work nights 3 times a week and work 10 -12 hour shifts no lunch no breaks so I will drink one on those days just to tie me over. I also will freeze a slim fast and take it to the golf course if i'm golfing, again just to keep me from making poor food choices. -
OMG !!!!! just read your name.... I'm a little slow!!! I see you ate one too!!! In my case 3 or 4
-
When you don't chew chew chew, food gets stuck in your band and nothing can get through!! It hurts like hell!! then you start heaving and slim comes up and maybe if your lucky your food. otherwise your in severe pain until it goes through, I have become an expert at pbing, have done it 5 times since I got my fill. Usually when I'm standing at the kitchen counter not thinking and i stuff food in my mouth with out chewing. So just remember to CHEW CHEW CHEW CHEW CHEW. and hopefully I will learn as well

End of week one, How do I make it 2 more weeks???
yoyodieter replied to abuchanan98's topic in Diet and Nutrition
I just took it one day at a time, by 6 pm i would say good job to myself. that wasn't so bad. my favorite soup was Andersons creamy split pea with bacon, ate it all the time. all day long. little bits at a time wow I'm getting hungry thinking of it. It's a tough 3 weeks but you can do it.. oh yeah lots of sugar free fudge bars and frozen slimfasts (they last for hours) just sipped as it thawed. Kinda miss all the liquids. good luck -
I would of ate the whole box!! You did well only eating two. I also think as long as they are in the freezer they will be calling out for you..EAT ME EAT ME. SO it is probably best to send them on their merry way. You must be a wonderful nurse for your patient to buy you such great chocolates. Be very proud of yourself

Hi welcome aboard, my son Justin was banded on the 14th of January and weighed 335 lbs. by the time I was banded 5 months later, he was down 80 lbs. I am a firm believer that It is easier for guys. he has since lost another 20 so he is down 100 lbs. in 7 months, Justin would post himself but he is much to busy playing video games on the computer. :lb12: But he would be more than happy to answer any questions. (because he still has to listen to him mom) He lost all that weight and dosen't even excercise!!!! (He hurt his back last year) He has had 2 fills and has 5cc in a vg band. I'm sure you will have great success. and again welcome aboard P.S. Justin is 24 years old TODAY (time for that boy to move out)

What are you excited to be able to wear?
yoyodieter replied to dianna's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
I just want to be able to wear my pants without a wedgie -
When I went there, I was asking about an implant but she didn't seemed interested in doing it. wanted to know if I had been to a periodontist (sp) I told her that I had. She just kinda of blew me off, and said I had nice teeth. She did make me a mouth guard for $150.00 figure I saved around 200. I think there must be other dentists around that are set up for implants and other time consuming work. I still need my tooth worked on so keep me posted on what you find out. Thanks

Whats the One Tip You Would Give Me?
yoyodieter replied to FRANCIE's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
Just remember when they all tell you to chew chew chew, please listen... I have always been an "eat as fast as you can as much as you can" type of girl. I know you won't have to worry about it for a few weeks after surgery, but if you are on pre op, start now chew chew chew I have pb'd 5 times since i have got my first fill, and I am still in pain from a chicken episode last night.. so my advice CHEW CHEW CHEW CHEW CHEW -
That is so great! How do you like your spin class, I tried it once and they are tough! Keep up the good work.
