  1. Thanks everyone! I'm going to take your advice and schedule my fill as soon as possible then!
  2. Thanks WillT! The group that I had surgery with wants to wait until August 17th to have our first fills....... I'm thinking about just going without them earlier, not sure I want to wait that long. I feel the same I want to get the process moving and waiting 8 weeks when I could have it around 6 is just plain torture to me. I'm just curious if anyone was able to make it the full 8 weeks without suffering! LOL!
  3. I felt it was harder to take a deep breathe but nothing extreme. If you find that it is extremely difficult or you are becoming lightheaded you should probably call the doctor. My stomach was sore the day after surgery more than I was prepared for, but try to remember that giant metal rods were moving around in your stomach and even though the incisions are small, you still had sugery. I brought some of my husbands Lortabs with me for pain so I had some relief. If you feel it is unbearable there could be something else going on and you definitley should call the doctor. Best of luck and let us know how you are doing.
  4. Did anyone wait until the very end of the 6-8 weeks to get there first fill? If so did you regret it?
  5. Very motivational post WillT! Happy 4th of July everyone!
  6. WillT you have a phenomenal personality and I am usually laughing after reading one of your post. Outside of the humor I have read some very supportive post from you also. You are a great asset to this forum and I have enjoyed interacting with you. In the words of Wayne and Garth....Party on dude!
  7. I have been chewing gum with out any problems...Just remember not to swallow it!
  8. I'll have to try the Maalox. I hear you on waiting till the last minute to start new things. I have to go out and buy some drinkable protein because I think that is why my weight loss is stalled. We all miss you too! We'll see you in August for our first fill!!! YAY!
  9. Way to go Will! That must be an amazing feeling to realize you are at your lowest weight in 7 years! P.S. enjoy the mud wrestling match!
  10. Did they still have the pink cow??? I love that thing! I also saw a 2 headed one! Enjoy your time in TJ and welcome to the other side!
  11. Congrats! Welcome to the first day of the rest of your life! Take it easy for the rest of the day and get some rest! Can't wait to hear how everything went!
  12. I know that when I went in for my consult with Dr. Miranda she told me the same thing. That I did not have to start eating my protein first that if I wanted to have fruit or veggies first I could. She said that needing large amounts of protein is a myth for WLS patients. She said that the possibility of having a protein deficiency is extremely slim and not possible unless we lived in a third world country or something like that. I think the protein first stays in your stomach longer and is less fat so I'm going to still eat protein first. I agree though I'm not sure why she has changed her tune and is now telling people they do not have to eat protein first???
  13. Hey Sara! I haven't found anything yet that works with the bloated feeling. The meds don't work and walking doesn't help anymore either.... By the way you lost 12 lbs already!! WOW! I've lost 7 since surgery but have stalled since moving to creamy soups, not sure why.
  14. Tanning is probably not a bad idea for me either! My husband says I'm so white that I glow in the dark!
  15. That's amazing! One more wonderful reason to go shopping!
  16. I'm so happy for anyone that has reached day 21 and is moving out of the liquid word and enjoying some real food! 22lbs is amazing weight loss Denise! Keep on moving in the right direction! I still have 10 more days of liquids to go...pray for me! LOL!
  17. The people in Mexico LOVE American money! And if you go shopping remember to NEVER pay what they are asking and most of the time if you set a price and they will not meet it, walk away and the majority of the time they will follow you and meet your price. also be sure to check with your cell phone company on international plans if you intend on using your cell phone while in Mexico. You can call free from the OCC the night of surgery but it will cost you everywhere else.
  18. Hi everyone, I'm confused now. The paperwork from OCC says you can have drinkable yogurt on day 4. Several comments state otherwise? Were some of you told differently than what the paperwork says?
  19. It's great to hear that you finally have a good fill!
  20. Hey Trina! Glad to hear that your back and okay. I know what you mean about the burp that won't come up! I still have that...Feels like a big bubble that I can't get out and when I hiccup it is the same way, very painful. I still have pain around the port site, It feels like pulling...I'm not sure if it is the actual port or if it is just the glue over the incision. Get some rest girl! Great to have you back!
  21. Welcome my friend to the other side!! I'm glad to hear your experience was great. Take care of yourself now and allow time to heal.
