  1. Thanks Jim for the good wishes and tip! That's an especially good reason to behave tomorrow.
  2. Thanks for the good wishes jgirl and goofy!! I'm starting to feel a bit nervous, but hopefully that will pass. Hope you're feeling better jgirl!!
  3. I love it! I haven't told enough people to hear this kind of thing personally, but I've read some pretty offensive posts online (not this site of course). I'll have to keep this comeback in my back pocket in case I ever need it. :punish:
  4. Thanks Snowbird!! That settles it! Maybe I'll do it at my first fill, but not right after surgery. :negative:
  5. Interesting... thanks for the advice! I'm leaning towards not doing it on this trip now.
  6. Welcome Jeremy! That's great that you were able to visit before surgery! I'm in NY, so that would be a big trip. I can imagine that the liquids phase will be especially difficult for you as a chef (I'm assuming)! I guess you'll have to be very careful about tasting things... Good luck! -Susan
  7. Welcome! If you haven't seen it already, check out Dr. Ortiz in this video. I'm inclined to follow his guidance to avoid a slipped band or a stretched out pouch... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNGmGlancN8 Good luck! Susan
  8. Welcome Hope!! And congratulations on your decision! :lb14: I get banded in two days - I'll post about my experience afterwards - yay! -Susan
  9. Hmmm...are you familiar with the term "woody"?
  10. Good luck!! I'll be a day behind you - can't wait either!! :party2: :dance3:
  11. Hi Katherine, Here's a link to a post from mamamichelle - she scanned the post-op diet instructions. The liquid diet is 21 days - but after the first week you can have creamy soups and protein shakes. http://www.lapbandforum.com/index.php?show...hl=mamamichelle :lb11: -Susan
  12. Thanks Julie and cfuture! I was nervous about whether it would be too much - I will definitely consider moving it to my first fill. :scratch_one-s_head:
  13. Oh no!! I hope you're feeling okay physically at least. I was thinking the liquid yogurt would be something to look forward to after clear liquids - I hope the fresh stuff is better! :scratch_one-s_head:
  14. I'm not banded yet, so clearly not an expert, but I get the sense, from reading other's experiences that weight loss tends to slow when you get on solid food - and have not had a fill yet. It makes sense to me, at that point you've eaten so little for quite a while with pre-op and then liquid diet, so my guess is that your metabolism slows a little - plus you're hungry and relieved to eat solid food for the first time in weeks - and so a stall in weight loss is probably highly common for that period. I assume you have just a few weeks until your first fill. Do your very best until then, and then hopefully it will get easier to keep your portions down. :lb4:
  15. Thanks Nikolek! After I posted this I realized I could do a search for "Zoom" and I found your review as well as Mamamichelle's and some others - I think I'll do it!
  16. Thanks for the tips Jena! Totally helpful! I don't have any dental work, but I'll check with my sis and dad.
  17. Yes, we'll all let Cedar come give the tough love. I say that it's a great sign that you've posted about this - it shows that you want to stay honest - and I think that's HUGE-ly important. I know for me, when I start eating in secret is when I'm in a bad place, so you're doing the opposite of that. I hope the fill helps you resist the urge to indulge!
  18. I'm thinking about doing the Zoom teeth whitening treatment while at the OCC. As are my sister who is getting banded the same day as me - and our dad who is coming for support. Just curious if anyone else has done it - and if so - how was it? Worth it? Painful? Thanks!! Susan
  19. Thanks for the full report - it's so helpful and fun to read! I'm glad you're feeling pretty good.
  20. Thanks! I had wondered if moisturizing regularly would help - good to know it can!
  21. That's so nice to hear that Dr. O called you back directly! I would think that if you called you, rather than just emailing you back it's probably because he was concerned. I would definitely follow his advice. You don't want your stomach to develop an infection or anything... Good luck!!
  22. You're doing so well! You can hang in there a little longer! It will be SO worth all the hard work. :lb4:
  23. Great news! I knew it was good for lots of health issues, but didn't know about cancer. Thanks for posting! :good2:
  24. Congratulations on your decision! Once I found out that there was a safe and affordable way for me to get the lap band I scheduled immediately. I get banded next Tuesday - can't wait for it to be done! This will be one of the most important decisions you ever make.
  25. That's a huge important milestone - and so quick! You're doing amazingly well - congratulations! =D>
