  1. Yay - congratulations!! Great to know you've made it to the other side! Sorry to hear you're sore, but clearly you've still got your sense of humor. Hope you're feeling better tomorrow - I'm sure you will.
  2. Wow - that's an awesome story! Congratulations on so many successes!! =D>
  3. Great to hear you're doing so well! Keep us posted on your progress.
  4. Good for you for doing this for yourself! I'm getting banded next week (yay!) and have been reading this forum for a while, and everyone seems to have a great experience at the OCC - whether they are traveling alone or not. Good luck! And welcome to the forum!
  5. Congratulations! That's awesome - I hope I have even half the success you've had in my post-op period. I'm nervous about it, but it's so fun to see how well people like you are doing - makes me all the more motivated to make the best of it and resist the urge to chew!
  6. I'm not banded yet, but I also love the Zone perfect bars. Fudge graham is my fave. Total yum and a good amount of protein.
  7. Welcome! I'm getting banded next week and this site has been so helpful to me already. Congratulations on your decision!!
  8. Yeah. I'm actually starting shakes today - I haven't lost anything for almost a week and I'm feeling frustrated and worried. I'm hardly eating anything so I don't know what's going on. Good luck to you if I don't see you!
  9. You look awesome!! Congrats! I'm so inspired!
  10. Yay! That's great news Paula! So glad you're feeling better. Good for you for demanding the attention you needed and deserved!
  11. Wow, I am amazed and impressed! So nice to see visuals on people's progress - so much more impactful than numbers. On paper you're halfway there, but in real life you've already turned into a completely different person. Way to go!! =D>
  12. You should be able to get online access in the recovery room - right?
  13. Good luck Erin!! I'm sure it'll all go well. Nice that you have buddies with you! Yes - please let Trina and I know how it all goes since we'll be next! Yay!
  14. Hang in there!! You've done great, and you're almost there! Good for you for reaching out for support when you need it. It shows you have the strength to make it to Thursday. >
  15. Oh what a nightmare Paula! So sorry to hear that you have to deal with this on top of all the adjustment just with the band! I wonder if you can get a second opinion from another orthodontist - it seems like there must be another way that they can do the braces without interfering with your bite. I wish you the best of luck in resolving this issue! >
  16. Hopefully we'll see eachother on the 24th! Yes, it's awesome doing it with my sister. She's in CA and I'm in NY, but we've been talking on the phone about it almost every day. About the diet, we're actually doing our own versions of the diet, which Dr. Miranda has approved - as long as we guarantee that we get the same weight loss. We've been doing a low cal diet of about 1000 calories a day for the past two weeks, so it'll be three weeks total. I've lost 6 pounds and Dr. M wants me to lose 8-10 - so I need to make sure I get at least two more pounds off this week. A little scary, but I think it'll happen. How about you??
  17. Thanks for the tip - I'll check that out!! I'm glad to hear you're generally able to stick with good habits without having to be too obsessive about it - that's what I hope to achieve!
  18. Oh good! I can wait that long. So do you count every calorie still? How many calories do you generally eat in a day? i can't help but be curious about how you've done so well!
  19. Hehe! I was just wondering - when is alcohol allowed again? I'm truly not a big drinker, but a little wine with dinner is sometimes nice. I'm assuming with solid foods, but not sure... Sue - your first meal sounds lovely and healthy and delicious - glad you enjoyed it!
  20. Where did you get all those fancy graphics?? They're awesome! I can't help but watch food network constantly - it's just so fun, and often the best thing on... maybe I'll have to develop some other interests... I think I can handle TV, but geez, I definitely don't think I could survive being around free chocolate all day - very little would make it to the customers!
  21. Until I found out that I could actually get a lap band a size 14 was my dream goal. Now, for the first time in ages I'm starting to imagine getting even smaller than that - a 12? a 10? Dare I say 8? I'm truly a big boned girl so I just have no idea how small I could get - and what size/weight I'll be. But I'm certainly determined to work hard and make the most of the band and see how small I can get. But just shopping at regular stores would be such a miracle!
  22. Congratulations! That silver dress looks awesome on you!! =D>
  23. Hi Sara! I'm getting banded on the 24th - with my sister. If you're doing pre-op on the 24th I may see you then. If not - good luck!!
