  1. Cudo's to you Alana. You can do this!!!
  2. Hope it is the fill the finally works for you, whatever number it is. Let us know!
  3. My husband is now watching BB after hours like it's a soap opera he can't live without!! I'm at work most evenings so I miss some of it. It really shows alot of REAL stuff that goes on. We're both diehards! HHHHuuuummmmm who's going to win? I can't speculate this early in the morning for me. Will post later on this one.
  4. Splenda for me or nothing!! The old sweet and low has a weird taste to me I put up with for years. So glad to have my splenda!
  5. :lb10: Finally! Enjoy this time of bliss. You deserve it. Remember now to be careful. Today is my 3-4th day after fill and this AM I can barely get liquids down. I hope it's just temporary. It seems to get better in the pm though so I am happy I too have restriction I didn't think I'd have. Now it's time to use this great tool and LOSE!!
  6. Yes you can do it. I didn't lose as much weight as I would have liked to. But on the day I was weighed I'd lost enough. Someone on here was panicking also about not losing weight. She called Dr. Miranda and got another diet to follow to help REALLY lose the weight. I suggest you call Dr. Miranda tomorrow and tell her your situation. You have plenty of time to lose your weight. Stay strong and confident.
  7. Hello Tee: I just had my 1st fill on Thursday at the OCC. I posted a thread on it and told fairly detailed how it went. The needle just "pinched" for about 2 seconds and then I didn't feel anything. And yes it's cool to watch the TV screen and the flow of the liquid through the band. No big deal at all. They do have a maximum that they will give you for your first fill no matter how much you beg them to give you more. I even went back the next day to try and get more. They stood firm after testing it. I got 1.8 cc and the max is 2cc in my 4 cc band. So don't get upset/disappointed if they don't fill it to the max. They are the experts. And yes tonight I have plenty of restriction. Good luck.
  8. What cool plates. Such a help and to keep ourselves about the portion control. Thanks Pauls
  9. I'm wondering how Metformin helps PCOS? It's usually for diabetes treatment.
  10. What a couple of Hotties!! What a great picture...ooooolala!!
  11. Yeah me too!! Those pics are something to look at for sure. It does remind me why losing it more slowly is by far the better route!
  12. Yes I do think our bodies certainly have a m ind of their own, no matter what we eat or don't. At this point maybe you arn't eating enough as suggested by Cathy. And yes eat your protein first. Are you drinking enough water? At minimum it should be 8, 8 ounce glasses but for good results double this. I have a hard time getting in my water some days. I have lost about 12 pounds post-op and have gained and lost the same 2 pounds for at least 2 0r 3 weeks now. It's maddening. I just had my 1st fill so hope to takeoff again. I for one must remember to be patient as many of us also need to remember this. I know we know this is not a magic bullet but some how we still want our weight to always be faster than what it actually is. :lb4: it is very early in this new way of life. Also losing the weight at a slower pace will help keep you skin from not sagging so much I hear. Also the fact that losing it slower helps to keep it off for good and that's the goal. Each few pounds you lose is gone forever by doing it this way.
  13. When I was in Tj for my fill I got conflicting info about the Salem fill center. I was sure they didn't use fluoro but some people thought they do. I'm calling them asap to see because if they do use fluoro there's no need to fly to mexico for future fills. I hope I was mistaken and they do use it. To be honest the 2 day trip for me was really no fun as I just don't travel well. If anyone finds out before I call please post and let me know. Thanks
  14. I'm so glad I quit caffeine several years ago.!! Thanks Paula for a great post.
  15. Cherb how are you doing today, Sunday,? I am concerned about you and care that you feel better. Post and let us know.
  16. I'm so excited for both of you Shannon and Pam. Just relax and enjoy this special new beginning. It's your time to be pampered too!!
  17. :lb9: Christina!! Glad you spoke up. You are welcome here to ask ANY question you may have. One bit of pre-op advice is to try and not think the end of eating is coming and to overeat those fattening things you love thinking this will be the last time I can have it. You can even start your pre-op eating plan a little early, maybe just by eating 3 healthy meals a day and no junk as soon as today. Then little by little modify it until the 2-3 weeks before your surgery and then follow the recommended plan by the letter. Just a thought. I too love reading others victories. It's why I come here everyday like a religion. It keeps me motivated.
  18. Some people are more prone to this than others. I use a tongue scraper as often as I remember. Also the mouth rinses help. The biggest thing is water, water, water!!
  19. I second what everyone else has said. And then some!! How lucky for you to be able to enjoy camping with your family. I'm sure your weight loss will only add to the fun you can have with your daughter.
  20. Cathy you too are doing fabulous...35# already with no fill.... :lb21: :lb24: I am so happy for you. I think you have an excellent care team and that makes a huge difference too. It sound like they really want you to succeed as well and that's why the aftercare and fills are included. How nice for you. Now to update my fill story. My last post last night was about my husband BBQing this lovely steak and veggies, zucchini to be exact. He came in and the smell of it filled the house. I longingly looked over it and passed. Well you might have already guessed the zucchini was calling too me, not really the steak so much. I of course broke down and put 2 slices in a bowl. mashed it up almost to water and ate it. Very slowly, fine no probs. So about 1/2 hour later I wet back into the kitchen, first mistake, looked again at the rest of the zucchini, second mistake and snatched up a piece at ate it. No mashing it this time just gobbled it down, third and final BIG mistake. I felt it stop in my throat. The chest pain began. Next came the sliming for about 10-15 minutes off and on. It was starting to go down I thought and I had to take my medicine that was already late and so I took a tiny sip of water and the pill. In a matter of minutes up came........well I wont TMI it. Man when will I learn? I guess I've always tested boundaries and this is no exception. I have a new respect for this partially filled band now though and today is liquids only for me. I mean it too. I got up and took 1 pill with a sip of water and felt it go all the way down, stick in the pouch and then pass. I know it's my own fault that I probably have more swelling than I would have had I not just had to try the zucchini. I must stop self-sabotaging myself or this will never work for me. I've heard of many dieters who do this self-sabotage stuff and I am one of those I guess. Even in small ways still. I am trying to not be too rough on myself and realize how far I have come. My behavior is not like it used to be and I realize change does not happen overnight. I wish I could just be one of those who gets the band and then just follows the rules like I should and all would be well. I am going to do some serious self talk and praying to try and get to the bottom of this type of behavior. I don't want to do it again. Once again I've gone on and on but I just had to vent a little. Today is a new day and I have only had a sip of water so far. I will take it choice by choice and follow the rulles to make this work! I am still in alot of physical fibro pain. It usually takes a few days to get over a flare up. I have to work tomorrow so I need to feel better by then. I have tons of housework that needs to be done but I may only get the exxentials done. That's how it usually goes though. I need a maid for real. (
  21. :lb10: You work so hard you deserve a NSV. See even if the scale is not going down as quickly others things compensate for that.
