  1. Paula that is a wonderful very helpful way to think about "shit"!!
  2. I bet it's your port/band and it takes awhile for the discomfort to go away. The glue drove me nuts but do let it come off naturally...with a little help from a soft washcloth very very gently each time you shower. :girl_hospital:
  3. Wish I could chat tonight but I'll be at work. Have fun all!
  4. OMG I just went out to our garden (hadn't been out for a while as my husband and tenant tend to it more than I do) and WOW do we have fresh produce!!! We've been enjoying fresh spinach and lettuce. I just brought in some beautiful beets, broccoli, and onions. Everything..tomatoes, cukes, squashes, beans, melons have huge flowering buds on them. It will be a great harvest this year. I love the fresh vegetables of all types. I used to can or freeze everything but am no longer able to do that. We just have enough for us and then to share with friends and family. No corn though, we just don't have the space. I am lucky as the Northwest has soooo many fresh produce stands this time of year I can get whatever I don't have easily. I need to eat more vegetables to make this change of lifestyle real. So here's to our gardens!!
  5. Hope you talked to the folks at OCC today. Let us know what happened and I hope you feel better :lb10: btw on such a tremendous weight loss. I bet you look and feel great!!
  6. Heres another thread to read. The person who posted it is my_friend_amber and it's titled my story, warning it's long. Originally posted on 5/27 it details her banding day by day and is a very nice testimony to what actually happens. Have fun reading!!
  7. Amber this is great. Any future bandsters should surely read this!!
  8. I can't wait to not have to ask for the dreaded seat belt extender, it's so humiliating. I havn't lost any weight since I've been on solids. It's just been 5 days though. I am not weighing myself now except maybe once or twice a week.
  9. I'm so happy for ya!! Keep up the great work. You inspire me.
  10. Welcome back .....you'll have to give us some of the highlights of you fabulous vacation. You've got your head on straight now and I know you'll drop those extra pounds quickly......and then even more!!!
  11. Trina :lb14: You're now officially one of us bandsters. Hope you're feeling better today. As the days go by you will feel less and less painful and less gassy. Unfortunately I've found that I still have more gas than I did pre-banding. The good news is it doesn't hurt anymore I just have to spen some time alone every now and then. Take care sista!!!
  12. I like thinking in the % way Thesuse mentioned!!
  13. Great job Kelly. I'd love to see some before and after pics for inspiration.
  14. Relax and enjoy the ride. You"ll be happy on the other side.
  15. I am so proud of myself. I started working out at work on ly lunch break. we have a great exercise facility with all the neat stuff...treadmills, bikes, eliptical, rowers, free weights and best of all it's FREE. So my goal is 30 minutes every day I am at work and that's what I've done so far.
  16. Wow all you have done so great. I"m excited to do this in July. Are you going to do it again?
  17. Yorkimommy you are a great mom!!! Thanks for your great replies.
  18. Paula :lb13: I know we all count on you to post your calorie info on any items!!
  19. Eat more protein for sure. I didn't know about taking the biotin so thanks for that tip. I once lost a bunch of weight when my mom died and my hair came out by the handfuls. I have alot of hair but it scared me. It seemed like months but it finally quit. I thought for sure I was going to be bald. Smaller mind you but bald!!!
  20. Keep us posted if he does have any specials please!!
  21. What Lisal said and all the rest. I started using the eliptical machine and treadmill at work on day 22. They say wait 3 weeks for anything except walking and then 3 months for abdominal work.
  22. :girl_dance: :lb21: :lb11: It's finally your time. Relax and enjoy the whole experience.
