just dont go to the place across the street from the lucerna called big shark or big fish or something in spanish... it really sucked, food and service both. if you do decide to eat at the lucerna both restaurants are great and if you eat at the italian one, they will bring you broth over from the mexican one if you want it. the desserts are awesome looking at the italian one too.

Hi all, I was banded on aug. 22 by dr. ortiz and my mom and i stayed at the lucerna. unfortunately, i can't afford to go back for fills yet, maybe later, but i left some armwarmers in my room that i bought at the airport and was really bummed when i called the hotel and they said it would cost $45 to ship back! i was just wondering if anyone would mind picking them up and then i could pay you via paypal to ship them back once you get home? i don't know what else to do, thanks!!!

well i know its not the same as secret beach, ours was a tiny little thing just called makena cove. we actually stayed in makena while in maui then went to kauai, but we did go to lahaina to eat and shop which was a blast!

someone at work today had a can of cheese whiz and it got me thinking... could we have a little bit of in the creamy soup phase or is too thick? i have seen recipes where it is added to soup, but i don't know if that is ok or not. what about plain? any vets have thoughts on this? just curious, thanks!!

If you carry on luggage can you take the powders for protein water and slimfast in your luggage or will TSA take them? powders are fine Do I have to take all of my stuff with me from the hotel when I go to surgery since I will not be going back to the hotel that night? Any problem with the driver picking you up at the airport ....on SUNDAY? take the numbers just in case, but as long as you called rene with your itinerary, they should know you are there no, but you don't have to stay in the night in the hospital if you really don't want to... i did just to be sure, but several others i was with went back the lucerna that night I will be using one of the financial institutions that OCC has recommended ..........any problems with that that you know of ? dunno about that one I will be traveling alone as I believe as some of you did. Also I was told by Carolyn from OCC that there were other surgeries the day that I picked but as of this day noone has said so on the forum, I am worried. I assummed that I would be meeting other OCC people at the airport to buddy with but now I am kinda worried. Would OCC fib about other surgeries that day? Are those with my surgery date just not on the forum? I wanted to pick a date that I had support from others and I was told that there were others. What are your thoughts about this ? occ wouldn't fib... the other bandsters probably just arent on this forum, most of the people that got it done on my day werent GOOD LUCK!!

i was banded on the 22nd (last fri) my incisions aren't red, swollen, itchy, oozing or anything else and i don't have a fever or anything, but they are still warm so tomorrow i think i will call just to make sure. thanks for your help!

If I have read the literature correctly, I should be able to start creamy soups on the seventh day correct? That would be the minimum day. Also, are the incisions supposed to feel pretty hot? Just curious, I don't feel like I have an infection (and it doesn't look like it) but I just wanted to make sure. TIA!!

okay, i have been searching around for the answer to this and come to the conclusion that sugar free fudgescicles are ok, BUT what about a regular one? is the sugar harmful to the band? *confession* i ate one, that is why i am worried also, yesterday, i had chicken broth for lunch, but it was garlic flavored (ugh, by the way) and afterward i couldn't get the taste out of my mouth and it was my first day at a brand new job and i didnt want to scare anyone off with my garlic breath so i sucked on a dum dum sucker (not sugar free either) to get rid of the taste. so i am wondering now if we can suck on hard candy at all or just sugar free or none? sorry so many questions, hopefully somebody knows! TIA!!
