You know, until I can get my fills back I might need to go back to tracking WW points. I'm starving with this unfill and can't get another one until the first week of Dec, and even then they said it's gonna take me a few fills to get back up to where I was. I'm a veteran WW and so very used to the points. Might have to get back on that for a while.

OK, so I tried to get this week off to a good start and packed my lunch and dinner. Then, with messing with the dog and all my stuff I think I left my lunch box on the front porch!! Christmas Dinner - How to feel 'normal'?
jhawkchick75 replied to WormButterfly's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
All great ideas! Another thing I love are mushrooms - a nice grilled portabella mushroom or even the smaller ones marinated are soo good! I have some mushrooms and shrimp marinating as we speak for dinner tonight! A nice thick veggie soup is always good or vegetarian chili. Can you tell it's cold here today i'm thinking all warm foods! It's such a good feeling to be successful with this during the holidays. Watching everyone else stuff themselves sick on crap and you are losing and still enjoying yourself. I was on solids but hadn't had a fill yet come Thanksgiving last year and it made me feel really good after it was over. -
B: Eggbeaters w/ mushrooms and cheese - sooo good! L: Chicken, green beans and mac and cheese D: Rest of the mac and cheese S: Chips and dip Calories so far: 950

HOTELS...WHICH ONE TO SELECT?
jhawkchick75 replied to Angiet2's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
I've only stayed at the Lucerna but I had a great experience there. Only a few English speaking stations but I enjoyed watching Notre Dame football in Spanish and thanks to wifi I was just fine. Had everything we could eat ready to go and you could get massages there. -
B: Protein Shake (about 1/2) L: Mini Raviolis L: Two cheese roll ups from Taco Bell S: 1 small piece of vanilla cake (no icing- was so proud of me!) D: Chips and dip - seriously!? Oh well... Calories so far: 1,100

2 fills and no results :(
jhawkchick75 replied to Holly85's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
I had no real restriction to speak of until my 3rd fill. Until then I just had to rely on following the rules and staying within a certain portion and calorie range. It sucks, but it works out in the end. Are you sticking within a certain range with portions and calories? Are you exercising? Follow those bandster rules and you will get there. I had to have an unfill and i'm back to where I was after my 2nd fill. It sucks i'm hungry, but i'm just eating lots of protein, getting my water in and following the rules until I can get my restriction back. Good luck!! -
Drinking water – big ol’ drinks! Questions…
jhawkchick75 replied to AngieB's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
Thanks so much for asking! Yes, we sent him down this past weekend to live with my parents in TX for a while and to do rehab there for a couple months. It's wierd being in the house alone but I have three dogs to protect me! He is doing better every day so that makes me feel good. The stress has definitely decreased and I can sure tell b/c I am HUNGRY! I'm so glad I got an unfill, but it is taking a lot more work now to keep me full. I totally understand the hard habits to break. I used to drink a ton of water when i'd eat and I thought that would never be able to change but luckily it has. I still eat too fast but it is something I work on every day. Old habits die hard huh!! One last thing is be careful w/ the protein - you can eat too much. My old roommate got a talking to by her doctor b/c she was eating just about only seafood and he told her to start working on more fruits and veggies too b/c too much protien I guess can have an effect on your kidneys. Definitely get those fruits and veggies in there too. I'm terrible about that but have been trying to get more. -
First fill. How long did you wait
jhawkchick75 replied to RevyD's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
I say let it ride as long as you can and save yourself some money! I wouldn't push it and get too tight - if you are losing that much each week and feeling satisfied with your meals then there is no reason to go in. I planned my first fill before I even had surgery, but that is b/c my fill doctor takes forever to get into. I figured if I didn't need it i'd reschedule but oh dear lord I needed mine! I was sooo ready! Didn't do much for me it took me three before I felt anything. Keep up the great work! -
B: Cereal (dry) L: Lunchmeat dipped in mustard, appleasuce and two wedges of laughing cow cheese w/ crackers S: One small sugar cookie D: Popcorn shrimp and chips and salsa S: Wine Calories so far: 1300 - OUCH!!! Soo good until dinner!!!

This unfill is really kicking my butt, but I was able to lose 1lb this week so that is most of what I gained last week. So hopefully i'm moving in the right direction. I do need to really get to working on my water though - have NOT been doing a good job there. Hope you all are having a great week!

Drinking water – big ol’ drinks! Questions…
jhawkchick75 replied to AngieB's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
I agree be very very careful with the liquids!! It is my understanding that even if your water isn't coming back up, that doesn't mean that you might not be stretching your pouch! I am similar to Smiley, I take a small drink and then let it go down in several gulps. I also do this with food I just can't seem to take tiny bites so I do the "chipmunk" move and put it in my cheek and swallow in multiple bites. I've never gotten sick on liquids, but i've definitely been too tight. I just had an unfill a couple weeks ago due to stress. Stress definitely tightens my band up big time! TOM doesn't seem to and I have seen that flying does as well. With an unfill i'm really hungry, but am doing my best until I can go back the first week of Dec. I'm trying to get lots of proteins in, but i'm having trouble keeping to the program. At my tightest fill I could still eat more than others talk about, but my band is very fickle - could eat one thing one day and the same thing the next day was a no go. On a regular day i'd eat: breakfast: oatmeal, dry cereal, or just have some juice snack: if it was a juice only day a snack was a must - cheese and crackers usually lunch: small can of mini ravioli, lunchmeat and cottage cheese, or going out would be one cheese enchilada and some beans, chips and salsa dinner: weight watchers meal maybe 3/4 of it and a small amount of veggies or about 1 cup of chili Those are just some examples of what I would eat. Didn't focus on portions so much I aim for around 1,000 calories a day. I did get a talking to from my NP saying b/c I work out I should be more like 1,200 to 1,500 cal a day and she might be right as I haven't lost much. But i'm also within 10 lbs of where I want to be so not sure if that is why. Like you said everyone is different so I work hard not to compare to others. YOu just have to tinker with your eating and calories and find what works for you. Good luck!! -
Good luck let us know how it goes!!!!!! I sure hope it is just an unfill and not more, but i'm sure it will work out. Good luck!!

Great pics! You can tell a big difference your face doesn't even look the same. Great job! And your husband is a cutie if I might say so - good job on that one!!! =D> -
NICE!!!!!!!!! Well, what I would do is you make something that you really like and make it healthy and eat that. I always love making something and then everyone's faces when I tell them that it is low calorie. I say let's all start researching really yummie but low cal stuff and share it on here. That along with the great ideas for things to do. One I totally forgot to put is we go driving around looking at Christmas lights. We go to the really fancy neighborhoods as well as the ones that have the really obnoxious Clark Griswold style houses too. I'll start looking around and add some great recipes!
