  1. I am not sure why that happens, but most everyone has their band tighten up when they are stressed. It is one of those funny quirks of the band I guess. I might have to do some searching around and find out why. I thought the tightness was over, but no such luck! I am super tight again today! So i'm taking it easy.
  2. I agree on the food journal and mixing things up. For many folks calorie restriction works for them, but my body is different. I quit losing for a long time and I tried eating more calories and it helped. If I stick to around 1,000 a day that is my "spot" - just like your band's spot you need to find the calorie intake spot that works for you. Also, if I am reading it right you were not too big to begin with. I only have I think 10 lbs to go and it is going really slow for me. So I have had to work even harder to get these last lbs off. Good luck! Keep your chin up I was in a plateau for almost 4 months but finally broke it. Thanks so life stress i'm losing now, but it isn't in a good way so i'm hoping to get back on track.
  3. B: Leftover pasta L: 1 pc of supreme pizza - somehow I could eat that today no idea how, but only had a bit which is good S: a handful of popcorn and once fun sized chocolate - is halloween over yet? D: Chicken, green beans and mac and cheese S: One glass of wine Getting a little more back to normal and not nearly as tight as I was before which is good. Might try to reschedule my 1 year check up on my band for next week. It was supposed to be for tomorrow but I cancelled b/c I was so tight w/ the stress. Hopeful to get back on track w/ my eating ASAP! My goal is to lose 10lbs by new years so I need to get my rear in gear.
  4. Just a few bits of advice from my end. I know for me I was not one that liked working out either, but I found something I really liked in Zumba and it got me going. Also, don't try to go full out right away or you will burn out. Start slow and work your way up. They say it takes two weeks to form a habit, so just do what you can to force yourself to work out after a while it will be old hat. I know for me I have a lot of stress right now so I haven't been working out and it is making me feel like crap! I am itching to get back but I am just so crazy busy it's gonna be hard. But I am gonna do my best! So find something you like and don't over do it...slowly work your way up. Good luck!
  5. You and I have the same bandiversary just one year apart - yea!!! The 21 days is tough, but totally doable. It goes by a lot quicker than you think. Just get lots of liquids in and make sure you are getting nutrients however you can. Very excited for you and can't wait to hear about your progress!
  6. Thank you all so much for the well wishes I appreciate it! He had a pretty bad day yesterday was in a lot of pain b/c the people doing his CT scan apparently don't know how to read a chart and were rough on him. Hopefully he can get some sleep today and get better. He's gonna be here for at least another week then it's on to a rehab facility. Funny thing is i'm tight, but I feel like i'm finally where so many others say they are. But I wish I was at home or had a mini fridge and microwave here so I could eat better. B: None S: Chex mix L: Mini raviolis S: Two fun sized candy bars - halloween party at work I tried to be good! D: hot dog no bun w/ mustard S: chips and dip S: vodka and cranberry - I was needing that!
  7. I agree that is definitely a blessing in disguise! I can still eat cake for some reason. Can do bread if it is crunchy like garlic bread, but only in very small bites. I could eat bread until my 2nd fill then it was over.
  8. Oh that is so exciting!!!!! You will be at 175 before you know it!!!!!!!
  9. I also see Dr. Malley that stinks that you can't go there. I also had a consult at Weight Loss Surgical Center and they were very nice as well. I also went to OCC and would go back in a heartbeat. Can't go back for fills too expensive, so i'm glad I have Dr. Malley he is great. I would encourage you to look into Dr. Ortiz and OCC. Much cheaper but the quality of service is top notch!
  10. Oh good luck!!!! I haven't had any major surgery since, but I do always question what type of drugs they are going to give to me to make sure they aren't too big. Also, surgery is a stressful thing so i'd make sure you aren't too tight to start with. I would mention it to them just in case. Good luck!!
  11. Sorry i've been out of commission the last few days! My brother got in a car accident Wed morning and except for letting the dogs out i've been here at the hospital. He is stable, but it's gonna take quite a few surgeries he's already had two. I haven't been able to keep anything down and what I have eaten has been crappy fast food, cafeteria food, and things folks have brought us. My aunt asked if we needed anything and I asked if she would bring snacks hoping she'd bring healthy stuff...nope! M&M's and reeces peanut butter cups! It's gonna be hard, but i'm gonna try to get back on track as best as I can. Regardless i'm gonna post what i've eaten so keep me honest. B: Chips and dip (was starving and it was all that would go down!) L: Mini ravioli - about 3 and then got stuck S: Green beans - my brother won't eat his food so I ate them! About 1/2 cup. S: About 10 peanut M&M's D: Once taco bell cheese roll up - ate about half and slimed S: chips and dip
  12. Congrats to you all - wow, what a great week for losers!!!! Charelle, just like the others said don't worry you will be back on track in no time! It's funny, I used to do that and for some reason it was always at 25lbs that is when I always kind of quit. You will be amazed once you get to 175 - 200 will be such a distant memory!! I have no weigh in results this week. I was in Vegas from Th to Mon and then Wed morning my brother got in a car accident and i've been at the hospital since except to let our dogs out. I am tight as a drum and the stuff I have been able to eat is crap. I basically ate chips and dip yesterday and today i've had three bites of mini raviolis and a few M&M's. Stress is just a killer I tell ya! I'm the oldest and my parents live in TX, so it was just me here for the first two days. No food was staying down, but yet I was starving it was horrible. But then at night all the sudden I could eat everything in sight! Was supposed to have a check up with my fill dr Monday but I cancelled and am gonna go in a couple weeks. Just not a good time now. I hope you all have a great weekend!
  13. Don't let 'em get to you - you have done a great job and should be proud! Have I lost weight without this...absolutely....about 400 lbs! But it was 20-30 lbs about 15 times and then I would gain it back and then some. This band has not only helped me take it off, but more importantly keep it off!!! People that don't have it don't understand how hard it is. You don't just get it and start dropping weight. Hell, I could eat two of my favorite foods all day - ice cream and mac and cheese and just keep on gaining!
  14. That is so fantastic!!! The boots I have are stretchy, but I was so excited when a pair of shoes that my feet had gotten too fat for fit again. What a great feeling!! Here's to many more!!
  15. Soooo glad it went well!!!! I knew you would do just fine!!!! Drink lots of liquids and walk a lot and you will be great!!! Congrats!!!
  16. How funny is that i'm the same way! Never liked candy and people never believed me, but I just really didn't. I was a carb girl! Now I crave the same stuff I always did, but my new one is ice cream. Mostly chocolate ice cream. No idea why - wonder why we all do that?
  17. B: Pasta (so bad, but it was all the leftovers I had - need to go to the store BAD!) L: Taco Bell pintos and cheese and a cheese roll up D: Taking a chicken and noodles meal with me to work Exercise: None have to work tonight Starting on a detox tomorrow to get my butt in shape!
  18. B: None, slept in - gotta love vacation!! L: Two pieces of thin crust cheese pizza and too many cocktails!!! We sat in a bar & grill all day watching college football. Why I did this while in Vegas remind me?? I love sports too much!! S: Chips and salsa D: Another fancy dinner out. I was good this time though, had two small crab cakes and sauteed mushrooms. Didn't finish either. S: Many more adult beverages! When in Vegas...
  19. B: None, slept in L: Chicken fingers and fries - got about 5 bites in and stuck city! Was so bad had to walk around for a bit but it went down w/o a PB. I think I was stressed watching the Chiefs game, but they won so it's OK! S: A few potato chips D: Went out for a fancy dinner and go figure my band just opened WIDE open and said ENJOY!! Had calamari, french bread, and my entree was salmon with grilled shrimp. Still was about half of what I would have eaten before so i'm OK with it. S: Two glasses of white wine Exercise - walked the strip and went to watch the water display at the Belagio and stuff like that.
  20. I'M BACK!!!!!! So not ready to be at work thanks to my flight being delayed twice in LA I am working on two hours sleep!!! Gonna try to think back a couple days and put my food log in. B: Egg scramble with eggs, ham, onions, mushrooms and cheese Hash browns L: Nachos in the airport got about 3 down and PB'ed - when I fly I get tight as a drum! S: McDonalds McFlurry w/ M&Ms - bad, but I needed something in my belly and after a PB not a lot of choices at the airport D: Taco Bell pintos and cheese
  21. My first three fills were almost exactly a month - that is the soonest they would do mine. I had no restriction until that third fill and had to rely on benfiber, drinking lots of water and eating filling foods like tuna and other proteins. Good luck!
  22. Great job!!!! Sounds like you had a great time and I agree you will have that off in no time!!! I just got back from Vegas and somehow stayed the same so i'll take that!!! Enjoy that feeling that is great!!!
  23. Agreed it is very person to person. You will see weight loss across the board on here. The band is a tool and it does a percentage of the work and the rest is still up to me. Exercise, eating right and having a positive attitude. Also, you have to keep up on your fills too that is huge to your success. Not only getting them, but making sure you aren't too tight! My mom was in the medical field for 30 yrs and she went with me and was very pleased with the center. Everything is top notch and I agree much better than many hospitals i've been to in the US! Unfortunately I can't afford to go back, but I was able to get hooked up w/ a great doctor for aftercare through OCC. They are very supportive of helping you find someone local if you can't make it back.
  24. Yeah, those folks aren't worth telling! I don't mind people knowing and I've told a lot of people, but not ones that are going to be gossipy and judgemental. Only the cool kids get to know my tricks!!! Love all the advice you have gotten i'd run with it. After it coming up a few times i've made sure and practiced my "speech" for those that I don't feel like telling. Kill 'em with kindness I say - and let them tak - they are just doing it b/c they are green with envy!!!
  25. Yea congrats!!! Now that I am back from vacation (and stayed the same weight!!) I am getting back on track! Hitting the grocery store tonight after work and am doing a detox plan for a few days to kick start myself then i'm back on track hard core. I also agreed to two 5ks in November so that will get me working out again too. Congrats!!!!!!!!
