Hey there! I agree I really like to see what others eat to get ideas so i'm hoping others will join in! I get in funks and eat the same thing every day. This week for me my calories are a bit lower. I'm trying to kick start my weight loss again and do i'm doing kind of a modified version of our pre op diet. So far it is working well i've lost almost 2lbs in 3 days so i'll take that! Usually i'm around 1,000-1,500 calories because I am training for a 5k and my NP really wants me to up that. But this week i'm much lower. Yesterday I didn't post calories b/c it was all over the place and I just didn't have time to count them, but most days i'll have that on mine.

Welp...I said good, bad or ugly I was gonna post and yesterday definitely qualifies as ugly! But here we go...I seriously was so busy I had no time to eat and literally grazed all day, so i'm not even classifying these by meal! * 1/4 of a slim fast shake. Forgot my breakfast at home so bought one man I forgot how rank those are couldn't finish it! * Chicken & stars soup (1 cup) * 5 town house crackers * 1 cheese stick * 1 small McFlurry ate the whole damn thing * Another cheese stick * Chips & salsa and one chicken & cheese enchilada and beans * Wine Exercise - at work I had to load 7,000 spiral notebooks off a truck onto a cart and then move them to another location. Then had to deliver a bunch of them to various locations. So yesterday I did not do any other working out! Man, my arms are sore today! Water - I was terrible got in 20oz if i'm lucky

My eating schedule is a bit odd this week. I'm going on liquids for the day until dinner then doing lots of protein for dinner. Trying this to kick start my weight loss and tighten me up a bit. We shall see if it works. Gonna do this for a couple days at least. Kind of like our pre-op diet sorta. B: Light apple juice (8oz) L: Creamy chicken soup (1 cup) S: Tomato soup (1 cup) S: 90 cal pack quaker delights rice cakes D: Heated up some shrimp in Bummel & Brown butter and a bit of garlic powder. Was soooo good! S: Having me a cranberry and Ocean spray cranberry/pomegranite light drink after reading the wine post! Calories today so far: 850 Exercise: Did 2.25 miles running and .5 miles walking on each end of that. Just getting over strep so I haven't worked out in like a week. Gotta work my way back up. Water: X X X (been way bad on H20 today - crazy day at work!)

You know, I tried but I am on so many dang websites that I just can't keep up! So I thought I would kill two birds with one stone and do it here. Plus, having this many people read it keeps me honest!

Jude one of these days i'm getting out there to SD and we are gonna have some good seafood and some wine! Maybe a vodka and cranberry too! These drinks are great for me as well because when you are out and about you can sip and nobody thinks anything of it. Although I had a guy buy me a shot not too long ago and I looked like such a wuss I had to take it in three small drinks! Oh well! I was tailgating at the Chiefs game this Saturday and drinking wine so I probably looked like one of those prissy girls but little do most folks know I used to be able to drink beer with the best of them. I still really miss beer but have found some nice replacements.

Congrats! It is so great to have you in here for advice and to see that this can last long term as well. Seems a lot of folks fade out of here after time but i'm glad you are here! Congrats what a great milestone!!

Well, I am three lbs from my first goal! But thanks! My first goal is the smallest i've been since probably 8th or 9th grade, so I really don't know how much more I can lose after that so i'm just gonna play it by ear. My hopes are another 15-20 after that which would put me at a "normal" BMI Keep up the great work!!!

I am definitely a white wine girl. I like Pino and Chardonay the best - yellow tail is good and inexpensive. Not sure if you have Trader Joes near you, but they have a huge wine selection and it is all very cheap which is nice b/c I hate it when I buy a wine and don't like it and have spent good money on it. White it great with seafood of any kind and your reds are better with steak, etc... It's a bit sweeter, but I also like white zinfandel. I buy Franzia since it comes in the box with the little spout that way it doesn't go bad and if I want to have just one glass of wine I can. A couple of other companies are doing the wine in a box now too which is nice, but I haven't tried any of those. Besides wine my drink of choice is vodka and cranberry. I do this ocean spray cranberry/pomegranite mix and it is really good and about 50 calories per drink so not bad at all!

Not to bum you out, but it took me three fills to really feel anything and even now with 5 I don't get tight like some others have. Now if I measure out my food I get plenty full and do fine until my next meal so I definitely have the restriction I need but if I listened to my head I could eat a lot more. Use all those tricks everyone talks about: measuring, filling foods, benefiber, etc... Hopefully you will get restriction before I did, but i'm just throwing it out there so you don't get upset if you don't feel it for a while. If you do that is great! I sure hope you do some feel it after their first, but that was not my case. Good luck!

I agree I would call the OCC and chat w/ Dr. M or Dr. O and see what is up. They might have unfilled you more, so I would go back to basics like we did before we had fills. Doing all those little tricks we were told to keep full. Also make sure you are counting your calories and journaling your food. I journal every day and although i've been staying under my calories, I noticed there for a while I was eating way too many carbs and not getting fruits and veggies in. Sorry you are going through that but I would contact the doctors and see what they think. Good luck!

So i've heard a lot of conversations about "why am I not losing" and "what do you eat on a typical day" etc...so I thought i'd start this up. Every day i'm gonna journal what I eat in here - the good, the bad and the ugly days as well to keep me honest. I'll put my exercise and water on here too. If anyone wants to join in feel free! I always like getting ideas and seeing what others are eating. I do this on another site and it's been helpful and some folks have been able to give me feedback on what i'm eating - things I didn't notice that are making an impact on my weight loss. I'll post as I eat and then just get in my original post for that day and edit it and add as the day goes on. Join me! _____________________________________________________________________________ Breakfast - none got a rare chance to sleep in! Lunch - two pieces of thin crust cheese pizza Dinner - tacos but did not use shells just ate the innerds with cheese and salsa. Also had some low fat refried beans with it. Had a few chips for crunch. Was gonna do chili but realized as I started making it that I had no seasoning! Snack - 4 bites of chocolate ice cream Exercise - didn't end up doing it i'm really worn out. Recovering from strep throat and I get really tired still. Gonna try again tomorrow. Calories so far - approx. 900 Water (x= 8oz) - X X X X X

Got a nice surprise yesterday!

Congrats that is great! I have been really stalled but am hopeful that I can get my rear in gear again! I have a dr appt in a couple weeks and i'm hoping they will do a full round of bloodwork so I can make sure I don't need to be taking anything additional besides my vitamins. Keep it up! -
Had a complete unfill
jhawkchick75 replied to ValleyGirl's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
Sounds like it is a good thing that you got the unfill before it did any damage. Glad to hear you are feeling OK! I would just recommend getting back to basics like we did before that first fill or for me after those first few fills as they did nothing for me. Eat really slow, use benefiber and stuff like that, and eat really filling foods and measure. It stinks, but once you are healed you will be able to get that fill again and feel better. Good luck! -
Trying to Decide Before Leaving Tomorrow
jhawkchick75 replied to DixyChixy1966's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
I took mine too and it was really nice to just lay in bed and use the free wifi. In the Lucerna only like 3 of the TV stations are in English, so it saved me although it was fun watching Notre Dame football in Spanish! My luggage is on wheels so the laptop was the only thing I was really carrying so I was OK, but I also had my mom to help when I needed it. Good luck and keep us posted!! -
Help!!! I'm a failure already!!!
jhawkchick75 replied to CatiE's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
No problem! Sometimes we don't like to hear it, but we need a good harsh kick in the ass sometimes. Especially early before you develop those habits long term. I know it is tough, but you CAN do it!! -
That is very exciting!! Keep up the great work!! I know for me lately no lbs have come off, but i'm almost down another size so something is happening. Keeps you motivated!!
-
How big are the pills...are they doable? Has anyone tried the powder - is it tasteless? I'd be interested in that!

I don't have a lot of advice for you, but you need to dig deep and figure out why you are sabatoging yourself. See a counselor or something. For all the money I put into this band, I would hate to do something to it that would damage it. Now i'm not gonna lie I am not following the rules all the time, but I really try to as much as possible. It's tough, but you have to find it within yourself to get on track. I would love to have certain things, but I want my band and the weight loss more. Good luck -
Only thing I can tell you is to eat really slow. I did and it helped me a lot - got full much faster. Also, measure your food out and only put so much on your plate and when that is gone you are done. Utilize benefiber, fiber choice, etc...to tide you over b/t meals. Chances are you will gain some of it back...sorry! You were on liquids for so long and after you move to solids it's like your body says oh hell...i'd better hold on to all of this in case she does that again! It's like those times when I would get a cold or something and i'd drop like 5lbs but then when I got to feeling better and eating normal again i'd gain it all back. I lost 11 during the 21 days and at my first fill was at 7 lost and they were amazed saying most folks gain it all back. Don't let it get to ya - do what you are supposed to do and stick w/ the plan and it will come off eventually.

Welcome to the group! Great to hear about the wonderful success you have had!
-
I"ve lost almost 60 and my arms are terrible! The rest of me is OK except for a bit on my stomach which I think I can tighten up a bit and then deal w/ the rest. I'm getting a 2nd job so that I can start knocking my debt down to get my arms done. They really bug me, but i'll take that rather than the weight!

Going for my 3rd fill tomorrow!
jhawkchick75 replied to AngieB's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
Too funny how different we all are...I have never slimed I always PB. I'm getting better with my breathing and allowing the food to pass instead of like I used to and PB'ing pretty quick. Good luck on that fill! Totally makes sense that you lost it after a while but since you had it this time you should get it again. -
Congrats!!! I can't wait to hear about your progress!

At my goal weight, now what??
jhawkchick75 replied to LisaBen's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Testimonials
I'm not at your spot yet, but I know for me I will never want to go for a complete unfill. I would like to try loosening it up a bit to try more willpower, but for me i'm not sure I could lose it completely. Maybe if I slowly loosened I could build up my willpower, but I guess I will see as the time comes. Good luck and let us know what you decide!
