  1. Congrats on the 80 lbs! You will have to post update pics of your scars - particularly on your arms. I am really interested in seeing how you heal. I will be getting PS on my arms when I can afford it and I don't feel guilty about it at all! I'm working this hard to lose weight and get healthy you betcha I want my body to look as hot as possible! I say you go for it and screw them all! My arms already look bad and i've got about 20 more lbs so lose so I can only imagine the bat wings i'm gonna have come that time. Depending on what happens with my job i'm hoping to do it this winter.
  2. Congrats on your success thus far! Pretty crazy how fast time flies huh! Keep up the great work!
  3. Congrats on your weight loss! You are doing a great job and I love that you are getting creative with your workouts! I am doing Zumba and love it! I've recruited a bunch of folks to join as well. In terms of erosion and things like that. Yes we can help of course by following the rules, but unfortunately many times especially with erosion it is just one of those things that happens that we don't have a lot of control over. So don't let it stress you out - that will just tighten you up. Good job! Keep it up!
  4. Hey there! I gave a bunch of clothes to charity recently but felt really weird giving them my bras. They are very nice and most cost me about $40 each so i'd like to give them to someone who could use them. They are varied colors and are mostly all 38DD. If you are interested i'd be happy to mail them to you and they are free. Would just like to see them go to a good home! Send me a PM and they are first come, first serve.
  5. I tell ya it really does make a difference! That and really watching what you are eating. For instance today I went up to the grocery store and made a salad at the deli. I put some hard boiled eggs in it and I tell ya what I was stuffed until 5 and I ate lunch at 11:30! Tuna does the same thing it really fills me up. Experiment and make sure you are eating foods that are really gonna fill you up. Good luck!
  6. After every fill I seem to have to relearn how to eat and what I can handle. After this last one I PB'ed quite a few times that first week but then I got back on track. Ahh the joys of the band!
  7. Those are always really good to have! I have one of me that I hate looking at, but it is necessary to keep me on track! I take one every 10lbs and even if I don't see a huge difference I still take it. Will be nice to have later.
  8. I agree if you get stuck or PB or whatever do NOT drink anything it just makes it worse. The way I explain PB'ing to folks is when you get food stuck and you start to get the spits like normally before if you were gonna throw up. Then, i'll go in the bathroom and bend over a bit and it all just comes up in one swoop like if someone gave you the heimlich (sp?) or kind of like when a cat throws up. Sorry, gross analogy but it is what it reminds me of. Not pleasant, but honestly you hurt so bad when you are stuck that PB'ing is really a relief and to me it isn't as bad as a regular vomit. Mine are very quick and dirty unless I get really stuck like I did the other night and PB 3 times - man, that sucked! You are gonna PB now and again but try to do it as little as possible and definitely really stay away from throwing up. After a PB if its bad i'll do liquids or mushies for the next day to give it rest time. As far as vomiting, just think, that throw up has to make it's way back up through your tiny band hole - that does not feel good and it's not easy! I did it once and i've done everything in my power to make sure it doesn't happen again! It can really do a number on you. I've never just slimed so i'm no help there. Either i'm stuck and it eventually goes down or I PB. No in between for me apparently!
  9. Congrats!!!! Same here I have no advice on the pregnancy thing, but how exciting!!!!! I've heard of some folks that just get an unfill completely but then some others that stay with a fill for quite a while. Best of luck can't wait to hear how it goes!!!
  10. Everyone is so different so don't worry. I lost 10lbs fast and then as soon as I could go back on solids I gained most of it back. When I went for my first fill, I had lost 7 and they were actually really impressed by that and said most people stay the same or gain. Not saying that to totally bum you out, but so that you know that is very normal. Keep your chin up you will get there!
  11. No problem! I do the chewable, but many others also will do benefiber either chewables or the powder in a drink around 10am and then again around 3 or so to keep the hunger at bay. I also would try the special K20 waters they are really good taste like kool aid! I know for me i'm OK until around 3 and that is when I get hungry, so I do the quaker mini delights snacks which are 90 calories, but if you are tying to get less calories then the benefiber or fiber choice are great! I'm out now but need to get more - I do the fiber choice ones in I think it is either cherry or strawberry and they are good. Good luck next week!
  12. Congrats on your weight loss! Just think of how much you might weigh now if you hadn't gotten it done! As my weight slows I keep reminding myself of that and look at old pictures to keep myself motivated. I agree with the others it sure looks like a lot more weight than that! So be proud and keep up the good work!
  13. Also, don't forget about all the tricks folks talk about on here as well. Benefiber/Fiber Choice at 10&3, lots of water, etc... Also, at least for me once I could eat again my head hunger rose like 100 million percent! That is what was hardest for me. So do like everyone said - stay within your calories and make sure you are getting a lot of protein. Then, it sounds cheesy but make sure and keep your hands and yourself busy to take your mind off it. It will get better I promise! Good luck!
  14. Sorry i'm too late to give advice, but definitely keep us in the loop on how it goes! Glad you went in!
  15. Don't let them give you any grief over that! Do I try to eat well at every meal of course, but we all need a time to splurge now and again. Before, my splurge would have been an entire pizza and now it is one cookie or one scoop of ice cream. That IS OK!!!!! If you don't you will NOT stick to it! We are good bandsters most of the time but we all need to be able to enjoy ourselves in moderation. Hope this fill gives you some restriction! Good luck!
  16. Same here it was about 3 weeks for me. And now that I am getting closer to goal I recently cannot sleep on that side unless I put a pillow there. They said since I have less fat cushioning it that it is pushing on me more. Annoying, but i'll take it!
  17. Congrats! Be sure and check out the thread "July Surgeries and Fills" I believe it is called. That is where folks are posting their dates so you can see if anyone else will be there. Good luck!
  18. Definitely keep all those receipts as well as fills, etc...between that and being a first time home buyer I got a SWEET income tax refund this past year.
  19. That is so fantastic congratulations! Just one of many more to come! =D>
  20. Thank you so much you are too sweet! I'm feeling good but i'll tell ya I had to go swimsuit shopping this week and it sure showed me how much I still have to go! That is definitely one downfall of the band is having to buy new clothes all the time, but i'll take it! Luckily I have a cousin who is losing as well and is a size or two smaller than me so I am about to get some of her clothes! Have a great day!!!
  21. Congrats and I am so glad that you are feeling OK! Definitely excited to hear your progress!
  22. Thanks so much! I am very happy with my results thus far but have a bit to go. I'm at the weight I was at 16, but think I can get off about 15-20 more. The only reason I remember that was my weight at 16 is b/c I have never changed my weight on my drivers license! At least now i'm not lying on it! Now is the time where i'm at a plateau as well, but it's because I really need to start toning and working out very hard to get to where I need to be. The band is not a fix all and it's time for me to really crack down! I've been eating pretty well and working out, but need to take it up a notch. Anytime you have questions or concerns just ask! I soooo remember being in your shoes! Just passed my 8 month last week - wow, I totally missed it woops just realized that just now!
