Welcome! You have made a great decision by looking into lapband! Take some time and look through all the threads on here. It will give you a lot of insight on what being banded is like both before, during and after you are banded. If you still have questions this is a fantastic place to ask. I know as I was preparing this forum gave me a lot of support and still does!

I'm in I love it! I'll be a bit slow for the next week as i'm healing, but as I get to full speed it's on!!! I think this is a fantastic idea! I love challenges they keep me going!!!

Completely agree with LisaL. I'm a newbie here, but in the past when I was doing a weight loss plan after a while I would not lose and get frustrated. So I would really sit down at look at what I was doing and would realize that after a while I would start to slip on following the rules. So go back like it is day 1. Make sure you are keeping track of your calories, not drinking while eating and not doing other things to eat around the band. Also, always know this group is here to help! I'm doing great so far, but of course i'm only about 10 days out! I know I will start to slip and lose my motivation and I plan on using this group as a resource and inspiration so i'd encourage you to do the same. Good luck! Let us know how it goes!

All your costumes are so great!! Since i'm on post op I avoided all the parties I was invited to and made excuses not to go. Most people don't know and I really didn't feel like explaining or trying to hide it. Next year i'll rock something really cute! I wanted to dress up the dog, but my brother wouldn't let me. Can't wait to see everyone else's pics!!!

You look great! And that is a really cute dress!! I didn't dress up - just took my niece out trick or treating but when I get the pics downloaded (my adaptor is at work) i'll post one. She was too cute so I must brag! And she was such a big girl, after a while she told me, you stay there...I do it myself!

Thanks so much that makes me feel better that it isn't just me!! This dry mouth is really killing me. I feel like I drank like 10 vodka sours last night!! I am drinking a huge glass of water right now and it is still there. So weird!! it is so funny the weird things our body does.

Oh that is just too funny! I remember how embarrassed i'd get from things my mom did I bet she was mortified! Awesome! Congrats that is fantastic!!

OK, since i've been banded i've had all kinds of wierdness and I wanted to see if anyone else has too. First, I have had the worst case of dry mouth! I always am trying to drink lots of water, but it just never seems to go away! Next, I keep feeling like I have a gas bubble in my chest and think I might burp or something and then I do this weird like one really hard hiccup and it is gone. Which hurts like hell when it happens by the way! I've never been able to burp, so I don't know how to make that go away. Happens once about every maybe 30 minutes. And finally (yes, i'm full of wierdness now) when I slouch or lean over I get this pressure where I think my port is. It's not a sharp pain or anything, just pressure. Does this go away once i'm healed up or will that always happen? There's been more, but some is a little TMI so I won't go there! Thanks and have a Happy Halloween!!!

OK I know right where you were then. I came back there once to check my email but i'm thinking you might have been asleep. We stayed at the Lucerna - one night I hobbled over to the convenience store to get something besides broth and I thought I had gotten a popsicle I could eat and I was estatic - then I opened it up and the damn thing was a cream popsicle! I was so upset! I told some folks that I can't believe how excited I was for tomato soup! Not sure if you have O'Charley's restaraunt near you, but they have this cheesy soup that is to DIE FOR! So i'm going to get some to go tomorrow. It has potato chunks in it so I figure i'll just sift those out. This weekend might be tough - always hard when i'm not busy at work but i'll get through it. Ick about your vein!! Hope it is clearing up nicely!!
