Did a detox this week and lost 4lbs! I am back to eating regular starting today, but am going to try to do a modified detox as much as I can with lots of fresh fruits and veggies. Really gonna start laying off the processed foods as much as I can. Hope you all have a great weekend!!

Yesterday got really busy so didn't get time to post B: Fiber one cereal (not on the detox, but trying to get something going down below) S: Small green apple L: Cubed ham and hard boiled eggs D: Dinner was at an event and out of my control but tried to be good. Had spin dip, one buffalo wing, and some 7 layer dip. Also had a couple cocktails. Detox "officially" ends tomorrow but am going to try to do it on as many days as possible. Tomorrow is my real weigh in day so we shall see how I did.

Had to go off the detox a bit today but just for breakfast - had no control over that. B: Breakfast burrito and hash browns S: Carrots w/ salsa (sounds wierd, but really good!) - it's almost 2 and i'm not hungry for lunch so just snacking for now. Been using carrots instead of chips w/ my salsa or bean dip. D: Mushrooms & shrimp in a bit of teryaki sauce S: Taking grapes to work w/ me

Its a great feeling but quite embarassing when the panties are falling off! Right now I am in between pants sizes and they won't fall off b/c of my hips, but I keep walking around hiking them up and get yelled at to buy new pants. All I hear in my head is that song "pants on the ground" from American Idol! -
Just stopped in to say Hello

So glad everything went well!!! You watch, this will really get you going I just know it!!!! Can't wait to hear how it went once you are all healed!!! -
Oh the ziplock bag has saved my life I can't tell you how many times! I got that tip from someone else a long time ago and I make sure to keep one around! I remember my first time quite well it was on an english muffin and fortunately I was at work and it was early in the morning and nobody was around in the bathroom!

Get creative with your workouts - get out and run/walk or ride your bike. Also, not sue what cable provider you have but I have Directv and I have FitTV and I DVR a show called All Star Work Outs and do those now and again when I am not feeling like going to the gym. When I was super broke and couldn't afford the gym, I would put on one of the music stations on my cable and just dance my pants off! My neighbors if they could have seen me would have thought I was nuts, but it was a great workout and fun!!!

B: Apple juice then later some oatmeal L: Carrots and some apple and four crackers D: Shrimp and mushrooms S: Chips - grrr soo not on the diet but I forgot my apple at my other job. Had no money for the vending machine so that was my only option. Day 3 of detox today going pretty well. Tweeked it just a tad allowed a couple of small things I shouldn't like teriaki sauce on the shrimp and mushrooms, but keeping it to a minimum. Will see tomorrow how much the scale has gone down. Lost almost 3 the first day and this morning was down 2 more.

Unfortunately for everyone it is different, but for me if I eat slow i'm OK. My trigger and signal is I get this one large hiccup and that is how I know i'm done. If I go too far, my face starts getting really hot and red (and is very visible) and I feel this terrible pain right in the center of my chest. You will PB, it is just something that happens, but just try to do it as little as possible. I am notorious for playing that "just one more bite" game and have lost many times. You would think after all this time i'd come to grips with the fact that I can't eat as much, but even for me it is still a learning proces. For me not too many embarassing ones. Threw up in a ziplock bag in while in a tanning bed that was fun! FYI tip for you all I always have a ziplock bag in my purse in case I get sick and it has come in handy many times. Got sick one time while driving down the highway - now that took some talent! Overall i've been able to hide mine well from strangers. I said to a friend if I get stuck in a bathroom or something where I have to get sick i'll just lie and tell them i'm pregnant!

I stayed the night, but I was also the last person (I think) to have surgery that day. I'm also glad I stayed made me feel better. Since you will have a buddy with you I think they could just go to the hotel and spend quality time together, then the next day you can join them! My mom went with me and it was nice to have her there prior to surgery, but me personally afterwards she stayed at the hotel and it was nice just to rest, have the nurses love on ya and walk the halls. I preferred not having someone there after, but everyone is different.

Seems to be pretty decent, but I agree kind of random that you need to eat that to the T, especially with ice cream. I've seen somewhere you get three protien options, three veggies, etc...and you choose one of each of those. Hot dogs is random too. Don't see anything too extreme on here, so i'd give it a try! I'm a no go with bread anymore so couldn't do that but since you are pre-op you would be fine. Good luck!!

B: Real lemon juice mixed in water - made my own little lemonade. Then later one small green apple. S: Handfull of almonds L: Carrots - not really lunch, but it is 3:15 and i'm not hungry yet so I figure i'd better eat something. Liking this hope it lasts! S: Cheese and crackers D: Shrimp and mushrooms Since starting my detox yesterday I lost 2.8, but some of that i'm sure is water weight so i'm not getting too excited. Since i'm back on solids we shall see how that impacts. No action in the bathroom dept which was the whole reason I started this, but hopefully removing processed foods will change that.

Actually i'm a little bummed I have yet to go to the bathroom and I was given forewarning not basically "not make plans" that day. I lost 2 lbs though yesterday on it and i'm hoping to keep losing more as I continue. If I get to Wed and still no bathroom action i'm going to go back to my fiber pills. I quit taking them b/c I was afraid with this it would be too much. I'll keep updating on my food journal and let you know how it goes!!

Today is the start of my detox.... No breakfast was able to sleep in today. 11:00 - sliced green apple 12:30 - 1/2 cup water with 1 tsp of epson salt 2:30 - repeat water & salt 4:30 - repeat water & salt 6:30 - repeat water & salt 7:00 - 1 cup grapefruit juice and 1 cup extra virgin olive oil - actually ended up being the most bearable part of it wasn't too bad. I did eat one pringle between each water & salt to get the taste out of my mouth but otherwise stuck to the plan! After today i'm going on all fresh fruits and veggies as well as chicken and fish. No processed food, no alcohol, salt, etc....gonna do this all week (with the exceptions of a couple meals I have no control over) and see if this helps get me going. I've been slowly gaining weight and I can see it's all in my mid section. Too many processed food so gonna see if this helps. I'll keep you all updated!!

What are YOU doing right?
jhawkchick75 replied to Linnipoo's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Testimonials
I was doing really well and recently have let myself slowly sneak some bad habits back in. I am now committed to getting back on track and the first step was getting on the scale this morning and then updating my ticker. Keeping myself accountable good or bad is the key for me. Today I am doing a detox that Lisa posted a long time ago then after that for the next week or so (with the exception of one meal I have no control over) it's all fruits/veggies/fresh fish/chicken and no processed foods, alcohol, sugar, salt, etc....All the weight i've gained back is all sitting right in my mid section and so I think this will really help. Wish me luck it's gonna be tough but will be a great kick start for me. I've gotten back in my workout routine and have been running again so that helps too. Hope you all are having a great day!! -
The last few days were the worst for me it was all mental because you know food is soon coming! It was funny though when I finally could eat I was scared to! But everything goes down just fine I had some pasta first to test the waters and all was good. You can do it!!! From the looks of it you can eat tomorrow? Sooo close just keep yourself busy doing other stuff and make the day go by quickly. You have done great keep it up!!!

Congrats!!! So glad it went well and I can't wait to hear about your progress!!

It is possible you might need another fill. Not sure what Dr. O's policy is on it, but my doc I see for aftercare says I should not get hungry b/t meals and should not need to snack. For the most part I don't and what I eat at my meals keeps me full. Also, are you getting a lot of water in? I eat around 1,000 to 1,200 calories a day and if it is a day where I work out I try to get a bit more, but sometimes it is a struggle. I would check and see how many calories a day they say you should be getting. When i'm eating like I should I have a hard time getting enough calories in that they recommend. Good luck!!

Be sure and take it easy!!!! I know after my band I was bad about that and decided it a good idea to get out and rake my yard...big mistake!!! So even though it might be tough just lay around - go get some movies or if you had on demand get some there and just relax. Good Luck!!!!! -
