  1. After my second fill, if I drink while eating, I will immediately PB all the fluid I drank back up, so I literally cannot physically drink while eating.
  2. No, I mentioned it the day of surgery and whomever I told (I don't remember now) said okay, no problem. No problem to me, means that it wasn't an issue, but I guess No problem to them meant "we'll just take them out while she is under". I don't know....so, yes please check into it so your piercings aren't a causalty.
  3. Besides, "do it" I was only told no ab work for three months after surgery, but everything else was okay. I generally do the elliptical + upper body or elliptical + lower body 4x a week. I can already see things firming up after only 3 weeks! I guess excercise really does work.
  4. I've been stuck at 219 for two months--I think it's because I'm not working out enough so, I've upped my workouts from 2x to 4x a week. It might help.
  5. I had my nipple piercings since early 2005...and I had surgery in August of 2008. I really didn't think that they'd close up so fast. And, I was more shocked that nobody even asked/gave me the option of keeping it open some way. They just handed me the jewelry when I woke up. It's a good thing I wasn't totally attached to them, but I'll probably get them pierced again. I think I liked the shock factor on people's faces because I look conservative on the outside.
  6. I could eat anything before my second fill--now bread is 90% of the time not my friend. I used to love subway, too!
  7. This just happened to me last week! In a car...I am so glad I had a plastic bag on hand. I figured out that I can't eat and then get immediately into a car. I get this weird car sicky feeling (never had it before the band) and then I start pbing. Weird stuff. And annoying.
  8. PBing is a pain in the ass. For me, it's frustrating because one day I'll be able to eat something and then the next time I have it, I PB it back up. I can't eat bread, tortillas, sometimes salad, or generally most carb things. So if you were/are addicted to carbs, you might have to kiss them good-bye. Some days I can eat solids and some days I'll only be able to drink my calories...the band is fickle like that. And yes, you will miss the comfort of food. My problem was that I was a binge eater and now I physically cannot do it or I'll PB/slime up. It's a good thing I can't binge, but it's really hard psychologically to get throught it. On the positive side, I've lost 33 lbs. in five months with just diet alone and my body fat went from 49% on the day I had surgery to 36% as of two days ago. I'm hoping by my one year to lose another 30 lbs. I've joined a gym and been exercising 4 days a week. Even though sometimes I'm frustrated with the band, I'm 100% positive that I would be well over the 250 lb. mark by now--it's a slow process that definitely does take work, but it DOES work. I wish you good luck and know that this site is invaluable to getting support from people that are going through what you will be.
  9. I didn't know about metal--but they took out my nipple ring while I was under and it closed up that same day. They handed me the jewelry when I woke up, so I would definitely contact them if this is a piercing you intend to keep.
  10. I got the product, but I'm going to wait until spring break to try it because I'm scared of pooing at school so, but be rest assured I will post if anything interesting is produced from the colonix/toxin out experience. But I'm curious if anyone has started as well? Is there cramping? Running to the bathroom?
  11. Vodka/Cranberry was my drink of choice when I would drink...it's a good thing that alcohol is something I don't need in my life otherwise I'd be spending many an hour in the bathroom!! 'Cause that's what happened to me when I got home as well. Thank you for your insight.
  12. Hi All, Well, it's been over a year since I've had any alcohol and 5 months since I've been banded. Tonight I went out with some friends and decided to order a glass of white wine. I drank about half of it over the course of a couple hours coupled with about two glasses of water. Now, I have the worst sour stomach I can remember in a loooong while. (I didn't eat anything so, I know it's not from food.) Burning and slightly gassy too. Has this happened to anyone else where alcohol just "hurts" for lack of a better word? I've never been a huge drinker, but this is something definitely new since I've never had this happen before with alcohol in the past. Thank you for any comments!
  13. On the liquid diet, I was told 30 grams a day...but now I try to get in 60-80 grams a day. Those protein bullets help alot since they have 42g and I stir a scoop of protein powder into my coffee in the morning as well which has 26g. These things help a lot since some days I can eat meat and some days I can't so, getting protein "the old fashioned way" isn't feasible.
  14. I can eat about two bites of cake before it gets stuck...I say to you, savor those two mouthfuls, 'cause that's all you're going to get!!
  15. Me Too!! I'm doing the two month cleanse with the toxin cleanse as well. Hopefully I'll be so disgusted with what comes out that I'll pay more attention to what goes in!
  16. Hey All, I misplaced my OCC information when I moved and I called the number on the website about emailing me my receipt for surgery twice last week and both times the woman said that she would email it and didn't. I know Mexico does run on their own time zone, but geez. I do blame myself because I didn't get her name to ask when I called back the second time. I believe that Rene handles all of that at the office? I may be mistaken, but does anyone have an email and/or telephone number where someone will send me my receipt? (For real, not just tell me they will.) Thank you so much!!!
  17. i had 2cc's put in for my first fill and nothing as well. For my second fill, I had .8cc's more....and a whole new world!! You'll probably have to wait for your second fill to feel any decent restriction.
  18. Hi, After six months out, you can drink carbonation--and February will be six months for you, right? Jude is right about sugar/empty calories, but if you're over six months, you could probably have one or two and not do any damage.
  19. Lisal! I read a "crapload" of those testimonials and I am so going to try the colonix cleanse! Crazy photos! Did your sister have to stay near a bathroom on that cleanse? I know it's a two month process, but did she have to say...during the first week? I'm in school 4 days a week and have issues pooing in public bathrooms.
  20. I know there has been confusion on here--are you sure it is 10cc's and not 10cm? Look on your card that the OCC gave you. I know I was confused until someone cleared it up for me that 10cm is actually a 4cc band, which is the most common one that they use at the OCC.
  21. Hi Kristy, I live in San Diego and the Handlery isn't really near anything in walking distance except Mission and Fashion Valleys (both good malls, though). I heart the Bahia. My sister got married there and that is a fantastic price, near the beach. The Catamarran is also very good, across the street from Belmont Park and Mission Beach and within walking distance to Pacific Beach and all of its little stores and restaurants. If you're staying for two nights or more, try The Beach Cottages. It's on the beach and also within walking distance to everything Pacific Beach and Mission Beach have to offer. You'll get their winter rates in February, and my family loves going down there!! It doesn't have tons of amenities, but the water is literally in the backyard. It's very low key. We love it.
  22. I don't understand your first paragraph. My first fill was 6.5 weeks after surgery--that's when the OCC scheduled it.
  23. The OCC makes you wait 4 weeks between fills (that's what they told me when I tried to schedule my second fill 7 days after the first)--trust me, within a week, you will know if you have restriction or not. I heard the front desk lady tell someone while I was waiting for my 2nd fill (four weeks after my first) who had the surgery the day before that they would probably only need 1 fill a year, maybe two and it made me and my dad chuckle. This usually is NOT the case (from what I've read on this forum). My advice to you is plan for your second fill--you will probably need it. And you will almost definitely feel a difference with your second one. It's been 9 weeks since my second one and I'm going to need a third one soon since my restriction is loosening. And yes, the OCC will charge you another $100 under fluoro. I don't have the guts to do a blind fill.
  24. Sorry to tell you this, but sometimes it does "kick in" and sometimes it doesn't. Most people don't feel anything on their first one. I felt absolutely nothing different from my first fill of 2.0 cc's-- But I sure did after my second of .8cc's more! The OCC made me wait 4 weeks to get the second fill.
