I was hungry on day 5 also. You probably didn't do anything to your pouch with 1 bite. The pain you feel is probably a strain or something. I had that too. I was nervous I flipped my port which is on your left side. It takes awhile to heal, so just take care of lifting anything real heavy or doing strenuous excercise. NO CORE excercise. If you continue to have the pain, use a heating pad, that helps. You are doing great!!! I know the soup is probably getting old. At least it's soup season!! Good Luck and take it one day at a time!!! In answer to the question how much does the doctor in Truckee cost. I recently went the Saturday before Thanksgiving. The charge was 300.00. That will include my next fill. His name is Dr. Helmuth Billy. I don't have his number handy. I think he is listed under FillcenterUsa. If you need his number PM me. Also, he comes from Ventura (his home office) once a month to Truckee. Saturdays. Hope this helps. Last's night show was great. Weren't those makeovers great? I would love to get my hair done after I'm at goal. I can't believe it's been on for 93 days as the lady said and most have lost upwards to 70 lbs! That's almost a lb a day! I wish I could lose that fast. But then I'm not working out 8 hrs a day either. I don't mind Heba. I think she's very pretty. But Vicky is a witch! I did see the article about her on the internet. Even her trainer thinks she's not that great. I hope she doesn't win. Can't wait till next week! Tara

I started smoking here and there when I was in my teens. Then I must have smoked until early 40's. Do you know? I don't even know when I quit? It was about 7 yrs ago. I just cut back, didn't think about it much, and then when I was around it ie: a bar or something, I would reek of the smell, and I just decided to try. Well, I'm happy to say, that I was just totally turned off from then. And I'm so much better for it. I can't stand the smell of smoke, or the after effects of it. You will be so much better off. Try not to dwell on it. I know that's hard. Especially trying to diet and other issues you have shared with us. I'm so glad I did quit, I look at women my age that do smoke. I'm 51. OMG their skin is aged! You will feel better, you will smell so much better. Your kids won't get second hand smoke. DO IT!!!! Look at Jann....she can be your example. Hi Shana-Lee!, I'm glad so many people have responded to you. Your first post was heartbreaking. Don't be sad. You will feel so much soon. I promise. You know, I didn't tell a lot of people of my decision. I am single, I did do this with a very good friend and we did the journey together. However, she has her boyfriend, and I have my dogs! And they don't get it either! Anyway, I didn't tell a lot of people, because I didn't was to justify what I was doing. I had made my decision, and knew that Mexico was my best plan. It was fate that I found Dr Ortiz & the forum. You will see, he really is the best, and his office and staff are A+. We do care here, you see that from the responses you have gotten. You have you husband to help you. And us. If you don't have anybody else, then so be it! I just have a handful of non banded people that I talk to. I'm still doing well. Enjoy your Thanksgiving. Looking at your surgery date, I would have to agree with Kat and say yes, it's probably gas. But If it continues, check with your doctor. Was it Dr Ortiz? I had terrible pain in my left shoulder occasionally, which also, by the way was injured several years ago. I'm sure mine was gas. Being in your left part of your chest concerns me though. Well, I'm going to be going to my Mom's & sisters. It should be interesting after my second fill. Hopefully I can still have a few favorites. I'm glad the question about the dark meat came up. This forum is the best, as you already know, and you will NOT regret your decision on getting banded. Like most of us here, we have all been overweight most of our lives and have tried every diet out there. As Dr Ortiz will tell you. This is your last attempt at losing weight. Unfortunately, as Dr Ortiz says, you will probably not know until after 6 months or so. I doubt that 1 slip will cause problems. But it is all attitude. If you slip now, you could do it more. Keep focused on the big picture. If you treat the band right, it will treat you right. I also ate a lot my second week of solid foods. I was feeling guilty as heck. I hope I didn't do anything to my band. Don't feel too bad, just keep going. You can do it. We are here for support! Remember-----attitude is key. Tara

Good for you Cathy. Is that like an eliptical machine? Man, I can only do 5 minutes on that with no incline. Last time I worked out. I have this place. It's a Senior Center. I'm only 51, but their senior age starts at 50. Anyway, it's free. I need to go!!! But I always make excuses of errands to do after work. They have early hours, close @7p. I've had 3 cats in my life all at different times. It is so weird both of those cats or kitties look like 2 of the 3 I had. If you would have had a pic of a black and white one, I would have freaked. Cathy, I commend you for sticking to it for a month and not blowing it. You have great will power. I would do what the others say, since that's what I do. (I get mad and pig out). But I would shake it up. Eat some junk food! You can't over do too much! You can probably stop after a day. I usually don't. Anyway, good luck. Keep up the good work!!! Tara
