  1. Yeah, I thought it was good. I thought it was funny how the young Dr. was very skeptical and questionable, and Dr. O just kept smiling refering to "what his study shows", I was glad the older guy supported Dr. O and let him talk. Dr. O stood his ground and was confident! I was proud of him. (although, he seemed a little nervous on TV) He definitely let everyone know it was safe and was confident it would be coming to America! (for teens)
  2. Whatever you do, do not take him to a shelter. Chances, are He will be killed! Owner surrenders go first!
  3. I had a persian, and it was the greatest pet that I ever owned. They have different dander, so people allergic to other cats more than likely will be fine with a persian. That is the great thing about them! I will forever be a big fan of them! If I was near by, I would scoop him up!
  4. I actually recommend the Liquid Tylenol, the cherry is great! I suffer with migraines, so I can relate to chronic headaches. And if you have a sensitive stomach, good luck! I have tried 3 brands of liquid vitamins and they have all gone straight through me! So, Dr. Miranda told me to Do Flinstone Chewables until I find something that works. She said they are just fine. So, when you get to the OCC, ask her about that. Ofcourse, I up the dose! But, I definitely feel your pain & I have never even had a sensitve stomach before! (just with these vitamins)
  5. I have been back on food 2 weeks, I had cravings, thought I wanted burgers, chinese, pizza. I took it easy with food. I just tried my first burger, and I went to McDonalds and got the kidde burger and only ate the meat and chz. It is true once you start eating you don't care about the cravings, they go away and you concentrate on proteins and veggies.
  6. I have been eating solids one week tomorrow! WOOT WOOT! I can not do white bread! I was craving a burger, so I went to McDonalds and got the kiddie burger and took a tiny bite to see what would happen. POW!! I felt like I was going to explode. I immediately, threw the bread in the sack! It just makes you NOT WANT IT! So, I ate the meat and cheese and was totally satisfied. I can eat a tortilla (flour) if it is super tiny bites, smaller than usual. I can eat wheat bread that is toasted with no problem, but I just have a half a slice per sitting. All of this may change once I have a fill!!!

  8. Hey yall. I set up the TIVO on season pass for The Doctors to make sure I don't miss it & have been logging on their website daily. Just wanted you to know their site is updated, and a video pops up of shows coming in November! You have to listen to them talk about all their upcoming shows, but at the end you will see the TJ border, and inside pics of the OCC. Stating....."Parent's crossing the border with their teenagers, the extreme measures parents are making to get them thin." So, looks like it will be on soon! IF you want, watch the website for an exact date!
  9. You will not be able to do any lifting for some time. You don't want to damage your port.
  10. You did not have gastric by pass, so you are not going to have those 'superfast' results. YOU ARE DOING GREAT! At your pace, one would lose atleast 100 lbs in a year! That is outstanding. If the scale is going down, you are conquering obesity, and really, who cares if it takes twice as long as those who have had gastric by pass. You are losing weight at a healthy pace and that is so important! Don't be discouraged, keep it up! Good luck with your next fill, I am sure you will have a little more restriction that will boost your weight loss and your self esteem! Let us know how it goes!
  11. I am in! I think it is a great idea. I will have to get a pedometer as well. I just back on since early this morning, so many people may be the same way. The weekends are a little slower on the forum.
  12. My family was totally against it also, because my Aunt died 2 days after having gastric bypass. So, naturally they were afraid of ANY weight loss surgery. UNTIL, they learned about it. I would have never considered gastric bypass! It is so dangerous! I took my Husband to a seminar locally 2 years ago to learn about the lapband procedure. That was all it took. We were there about 3 hours. He was able to ask questions and when we left he was fine. I have no doubt when your husband meets Dr. Ortiz he will feel the same way. The surgery itself is so easy! I had my surgery on 10/10. I am down 25 lbs! I know that I could have never done this without my band. I finally see a light at the end of the tunnel! I have fought this my whole life & FINALLY I see a happy ending! Think about how many more things you will be able to do with your husband. That has been my motivation too! My husband is very active! He scuba dives, plays racquetball, softball & I have always been the wife that sits on the sideline and watches! Not any more, Dana is coming out of her FAT SHELL! lol I encourage YOU to research as we all have & if you are comfortable, do it. Your husband will be fine in time! Oh, and he can always join the forum too! We will welcome him with Bandster Arms!
  13. I had the Hiccup problem.....exact same thing. It hurt like crap! But, it went away.
  14. Stormy, I am just finishing my 21 days of liquids, I start food tomorrow. Just wanted you to know that I started having a pain (no burning) about 4 am. I finally figured out that my body was depleted fo all the nutrients by this time. So, when I was going to bed about 10:30, at 4:00 or so I would wake up with this really bad pain and a feeling of emptiness. I was also extremely dizzy. I started having a scoop of my protein powder with 8 oz of skim milk. And after I got it all down, I would like back down for a bit. Not sure if it is the same thing, but, if I get really hungry or if I am not drinking properly, this will happen. You have to have your prpber nutrition. Hope you feel better soon.
  15. Jann.... We will be thinking of you and praying for you during this time. Be strong. Big Hugs! Dana
  16. MIne was hiccups, but at any rate it did go away after 5 or 6 days.
  17. Hey Kimmy! Let us know how you are doing today, I was thinking about you!
  18. You look wonderful! :lb13: This just shows when you work with the band, it will pay off! Thanks for sharing your story! It definitely gives me a lot to look forward to. (my first fill is Dec. 8) Keep it up! You look great!
  19. Wow! high five :lb16: You are such an inspiration! :lb24: :lb21: I hope I have the success you have had! I love hearing how you are doing! :lb10:
  20. OOOHHH this sounds soooo good! Can't wait to try it! Thanks Ellen!
  21. I don't think I would be worried right now. As long as you can keep your food down I am sure you are OK. From what I have heard people say, if it had slipped nothing would stay down. I would just get your next fill under fluoro to put your mind at rest. But, if you think about it, people get sick with the Flu, and migraines etc. and will throw up, so don't beat yourself up about it. You said it is not a regular occurance and sounds like you feel guilty enough! Hope you feel better!
  22. Congrats on your decision! I know you will do great! And about the teeth..weird, my teeth were kinda sore and sensitive too. I didn't even think about that! lol

  23. Congrats Ellen! I was wondering how your fill went, since you were getting that while I was WAITING for surgery! LOL Way to go! Keep it up! =D>
  24. Naproxen and Aleve are the same thing. My Dr. told me to save money and buy generic. So, if you see Naproxen just buy that. Unless you just want to spend money on the name Aleve. lol
  25. Yeah, me and my husband take Naproxen (it is Aleve) only we buy it at Sams or Walmart , they are small pills and 1/3 of the price of Aleve. They also have liquid cherry Tylenol. May have some of the other pain relievers in liquid too.
