  1. Well, I've used it already for a week or so and I am telling you, both works ~ gentle and yet effective! I don't have ANY bloatness, have a BM every day (sometimes twice) and I've noticed more energy. I sleep real good. I'll wait out the rest of the 30 day process and let you know...
  2. Hi Christy...funny thing you should ask about these. I've started taking them about a week ago to see if it would make a difference for me. I am taking the sample fat burners I received when I ordered the Dual-Action Cleanse program, and I am using both of these products at the same time. The fat burners I am taking is about 3/4" size gel caps, which I have no problem swallowing.
  3. AWESOME! Wow, and you were just banded in December! Great job! Any tips to share?
  4. You ladies Rock! That is just great! It's an fantastic feeling and going down in size with clothing. I am the same with that darn scale hardly moving, but my pant size tells me differently! So, I guess for me, it's the inches and clothing size that will tell me how good I am doing at the moment. Gals!!
  5. AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME! See, sometimes we just need to look over our own menu and just kick it around and change things a bit! WTG Amanda!!! WE ARE ON A ROLL HERE!
  6. :lb24: AWESOME CindyLou!!!! I am so PROUD of you to for you to figure out how to make it work for you. YOU did fantastic and I am so happy it is working for you!!! You ROCK!!!
  7. Hi Jenelle ~ I noticed you are drinking coffee with your meal? Or do you mean you drink your coffee first and then eat your oatmeal? Also, are you taking in enough proteins? Protein is the key to help lose weight, especially when exercising. Do you have a lean cuisine for dinner every night? At night, I would drink (1) cup of tea or a cup of Ovaltine along with drinking my last water bottle (which is like having 2-8oz glasses of water) for the day. Are you spreading out your water throughout the day? If your volume of food is not more than your normal 1/3 of what you use to eat and not drinking while you are eating, you should be fine. If in doubt, call Dr Miranda for assistance. Don't get confused or frustrated. You're doing great so far and you are just starting out on this wonderful journey of yours. Follow the guidelines and you should be ok. When you get your first fill, you will relax knowing you can see your band under fluoro. It's cool. Remember to not overdo the exercises at Curves as you don't want to do any hard abs work until 3 months post op. YOU GO GIRL!
  8. Omigoodness...Kimberly! You've got to post those recipes if you are willing to share? I grew up with the Red Velvet Cake (who didn't?) and would love the new healthier recipe for it. Also, I love apple dumplings...please, please, please? I don't want everyone to think I am the only person having wonderful recipes to share! LOL!!!
  9. Kimberly ~ that is awesome to pass up the doughnuts! I am not a total craze for doughnuts, but I sure like to have a couple from time to time. Now I guess I should post my new recipe for weight loss friendly mini doughnuts! WTG Kimberly...!
  10. Omigoodness! Did my hubby called yours? I, too, got a brand new spanking white walking shoes from Ryka (didn't get the socks tho! LOL) for Valentine's! I LOVE them and they are so LIGHT, airy, and comfy, I know I will walk on further with them. Wow, congrats on walking your first half marathon in that time frame! I haven't done more than 5 miles at a time and I start to huff and puff and did this in an hour and a half. I've got to push harder...just don't know the "trick" to do it yet. My mind goes a mild a minute with issues and I need to learn to focus on something more relaxing and enjoyable...I'll find a way! I now do walking in the mornings and at night and to tell you the truth, I really enjoy it especially seeing that the space between my legs is appearing more and more and I LOVE IT! I find also to do some light kickboxing afterwards to 'shake out' the walking bit. NOTE: I noticed when exercising at night, I really sleep good! You go girl! Before you know it, you will be doing the full marathon soon!
  11. Excellent point of views crazycoolbutterfly and I respect what you've said. To make this brief and not risking to cause a stir, I believe a few may have misunderstood or misinterpretate of the original issue and we may have replied in haste too quickly without really understanding what the issue is and just twisting and turning words when not intended to be. This is all suppose to be a positive aspect but also to know the negatives too. I, for one, appreciate to know both sides of an issue and then make my own judgement call for my needs. As one had said not too long ago, if you don't agree with the post, move on to the next post without posting a nasty/sassy remark. Again, let's not patronize or be rude to one another and leave it at this. We are all learning about this band of ours and everyone is different and has lots of advice/opinions. We need to respect each other's their 'side of the story', as it may be something we haven't considered. I wish I had a 'recipe' to help everyone's ordeal...but then you wouldn't reap the benefits of learning our new healthier lifestyle change that we are embracing with our band if I did it for you. It's all in trial in error...hang in there everyone...WE CAN DO THIS, TOGETHER!
  12. Oh really? What did Dr A say? I am curious. Is it because it may take up too much 'room', room that is reserved for the food?
  13. Hi Gurl! Woo hoo! You are almost there babe! Hang in there! I've had 2 fills and I can still eat salads too. LOVE them...in moderation, of course. If I make my salad my main meal, I would had some kind of protein meat with it, like a ceasar salad with chicken or shrimp. I add about an ounce of some kind of cheese too. My motto, "Try it and see, if it's down, it's worry-free!" LOL!!
  14. WELCOME to Bandland!!!! That is just great! Now, remember to sip, sip, sip and WALK, WALK,WALK! The more you walk, the more comfy you will be and get rid of those darn gas bubbles! Keep us posted on your journey!
  15. I don't have that issue at all and I am doing great with the Dual Action Cleanse. If you are drinking fruit juices, that would cause it too. When I had diarrhea, I ate cheese to help give it some bulk...and, of course, cheese equal proteins! LOL sorry...BAD Jazzy!! If you continue to have diarrhea, you are going to be very dehydrated...so, use your judgement. I don't know what the other cleansers do but I can't see having it for days on end though. Hope the others will respond to this too. Hang in there Judi!
  16. After reading your reply, I understand and totally agree with this. I am only 4 months into this band so having a more experienced bander can see more of what to expect from the band. I would do exactly what crazycoolbutteryfly says ~ get all your water in, do your exercises and do this for a couple of weeks and if that doesn't do the trick, then get a fill. AND, I totally agree with NOT relying heavily on the band for your weight loss. I've said this before, I've paid good hard earning money for this band and I need to do my part in learning how to eat healthier with the proper guidelines, including portion control. I have a 1.6cc fill in my 4cc band. I am NOT tight with restriction at all. I know I can eat more than what I am measuring out...but I am using common sense and get by with my own willpower. Also, I snack every day, in between meals to continue to keep me satisfied throughout the day and night. What crazycoolbutterfly says about if you can eat at night, then you can exercise too. I DO exercise at night as well as first thing at 2:30 to 3 am in the morning. It's amazing how exercising also helps with the hunger pangs. OK...sorry to ramble on, but this totally makes sense to me now and thank you crazycoolbutterfly for this suggestion!
  17. OH YES! Thanks for posting this! Love this already! I love mexican food and this would make a wonderful addition to my meals. Even with my seafood, chicken, ham, oh, the list goes on! LOL!!
  18. DITTO! I love the Mixed Berry also! I also did Crystal Lite too.
  19. I agree with Julie...it sounds as though you need another fill. You are doing exactly the right thing with journaling and doing your portion control (YES!) and so it seems as though the 'next step' is to really get another small fill. Like Julie, I have a difficult time eating in the mornings and it starts to loosen up for lunch. Dinner, lately, has been touch and go. BUT, I am in a stressful job right now and this is effecting my restrictions big times. I say go for it and hopefully not too agressive that you would need to get an unfill. You are doing great Kimberly! WTG!
  20. Nicole ~ babe you are doing GREAT! So, you have a small set back, but you've been through the tough part and you are so smart in playing the "newbie" because this may be just the trick for YOU! You inspire me Nicole and love to read your post for suggestions and tips! Keep us posted, for I find them very motivating and positive for me and my band! ((BEAR HUG))
  21. OH! I am so with you on this! It's so great that I eat so little but sad that I can't eat some of the foods I use to but that is the price I paid for a healthier me! YAY! Glad to see you have good restriction! Thanks so much for sharing your experience and hope the restriction last for a long while.
  22. Hi Sweetie ~ I can't tell you how much to eat as I don't know how much you ate before the surgery. Dr O says to eat 1/3 of what you used to eat, but I am finding, personally, that I can no longer eat 1/3 of what I use to eat since having these fills. Also, if you think of it, 5 oz = 1/2 cup plus 1 oz of broccoli. That is a lot to me. I barely eat 2oz since my surgery. As well, I couldn't even fathom to eat close to 2 cups of food for dinner. BUT, remember, every person's body is different with different sizes stomach and width of their throats. I happen to have a narrow throat, so my food intake takes a little longer to eat than most people who have a wider throat and eat their food in 20 minutes. And, yes, I cut my foods into VERY tiny pieces. In addition, I measure all my foods before I place them on my small sandwich plate size. Are you measuring your foods? Maybe this might help you. Just got to remember you need to eat less but get in your daily recommended nutrients. Hope this helps...
  23. SimplyRed ~ I am surprised you ate after your fill. Although I am still on my 2nd fill, Dr Acosta had me on full liquids for 3 days and when I tried to eat on the 4th day, I couldn't...felt too restricted. So, I stayed on full liquids (creamy soups) and another 2 days and then I was able to eat softer foods, and then progressed to solid foods. Also, with this new fill, you may not be able to have breads anymore? I would suggest for you to contact OCC for assistance. Carrie ~ if you are having difficult eating chicken, is it because it may not have been moist enough? All my meats a very juicy. A tip ~ when putting any leftovers in the fridge, I always have some kind of juice or water with it to keep it moist. If reheating, wrap the meat in a damp cloth before zapping it in the micro.
  24. You were able to eat ALL this yesterday? Mind you, I don't eat more than "one cup" of food per meal, and I am on my 2nd fill, and not even close to 1/3 of what I use to eat. If I, personally, ate the items you ate, this is what I accounted for as proteins: Protein Shake (AmazeRX brand), 6 oz, 17g protein Cod, 4 oz, 20g proteins White Rice, 1/4 cup (2 oz), 1g protein Cod, 4 oz, 20g proteins Broccoli, 1/4 cup (2 oz), maybe 1g protein String cheese, 1 oz, 8g protein String cheese, 1 oz, 8g protein This would give me a total of 75 grams of protein for the day. MY own personal portion control is having no more than 1/2 cup (4 oz) of meat, 1/4 cup (2oz) veggie/fruit, and 1/4 cup (2oz) carbs/starches per meal, 3 times a day. I eat my proteins first, then veggie/fruit, and if I have room, the carbs/startches. I do snacks if I want them and no more than 3 times a day too.
