Thanks Jann for this new refreshing drink. I followed your suggestions about halving the cucs and more on the lemon and ginger. In addition, I added lime too. Fantastic flavors for my palate!
-
YAY - Congrats!!! Now is the time to watch your calories intake. Make sure you do the ritual 3 oz (1/3 cup) of Meat, 1/4 cup veggies, 1/4 cup of rice/potato/fruit. Snacks, if I wanted them, are those 100 calorie snacks...awesome choices too! Even the fig newton bars are great!! GREAT treats. Befef jerky are high in proteins too. G'luck all of youse! Jude =)))))

Hi Taz! Yes Sir...I have the same pedometer as you have, which you suggested. I just don't wear it all the time. Only when I start my walks. Thanks Taz for this challenge...it's awesome to see me just "GO"! I almost reached 13,000 steps today! Thanks for recognizing us on our challenges Taz...it makes it all the worth while!!

GREAT post Dapzillia!! I am going to copy this info in case someone else asks this question!

You got it babe!!! -
Cara baby! EXCELLENT post...especially since I've just started doing Taz's step challenge last week. I've done another record breaker for myself and done close to 13,000 steps today and that is doing a walk only, not including my daily routine going to the loo, waling to the mailbox, the store, etc. I am trying to do my best to beat my previous day's step and I am proud of myself. THANK YOU for sharing this with us...it helps me focus all the more the reason to be more healthier and stronger! ((You're awesome!))

Dianna - not having enought protein can cause hunger pains and you may over eat something you should not eat. The fiber supplements does the same..curbs your appetite too.
-
Yes, Dap is right. I am noticing you are not having enough protein intake. Also, I don't have the same kind of meats twice a day. I mixed mine so I would have chicken for lunch and meat at dinner, and do vice versa the next day. Also, veggies are an important role for our rotor rooter problem and if you are not taking enough fiber, either do the Benefiber powder or the chewable tablet OR switch off with the new chewable Fiber Choice. This would help tremendously. Instead of having two sweets the same...try nuts, or beef jerky. Also, interchange with one of those 100 calories snacks that are awesome. Sometimes, changing your food menu may help you to 'kick' it in. Also, have a protein shake in the morning or mix a protein bullet in your water. If you can't do it all at once, then do half in the morning and half at afternoon. Hope this helps alittle...I am sure more seasonal bandsters will add their suggestions too - G'luck!

OH...I am so, so, so JEALOUS of you all! You all look so happy and having a wonderful time. I am so glad you all came together! While you were all, um, partying per se (HA!)...I was doing your exercises and walking the pounds away while at the cattle call rodeo campout. GREAT pics Pammie! Thank you all for sharing this side memory of what you all have done. Can't wait to see you all at the Bandcamp 2009!!!

Thank you Ramona and Jann! YOU two have me inspired and going the extra 'miles', literally, and that's no pun either! Also, these steps are all on the walk ONLY and all the steps were outdoors waling around the park and out on the streets to and fro the park. I just kept going and going! I am NOT including my daily routine walks to the loo, around the house, to the car, etc. I wanted an honest to goodness walk miles, from start to finish. I had to take my Mum to the hospital today for some tests and she was to be 'held' for close to 3 hrs. Well, I planned ahead and walked 11,358 steps today!!! It's amazing...I can't believe me doing this and you know what? IT DIDN'T TAKE ANY EFFORT AT ALL! I don't get it? Why I never thought it was a good thing, I don't know. I am trying to really focus on the positive motivation this is giving me especially losing a size in my pants!! hehehehe! Now, if I can continue to do this daily, this would be awesome...we shall see. I am just so totally JAZZ! THANK YOU ALL for rooting me on! I was soooo determine to beat my previous day and can almost hear you all, even Taz, saying, "Keep going...you are almost there!!" and I DID IT!!! Now, to get those Leslie's DVDs! WALK ON!!
-
Cathy! You are just divine looking! You are so driven to your goal and it shows in your face. Your determination to succeed truly an inspiration to me and so happy for you. You also focus on what works for you and it's a wonderful thing for you. Keep up the good work, you are doing fantastic! ((HUGS!))...Jude =)

I would HIGHLY suggest you have someone go with you. You shouldn't have to worry about after your surgery and you will be sore and such. Every effort to do things triggers to your sore spots. This is the time to relax and start healing. Remember, this is major surgery. As for the Jell-O, I used more water to make it set more watery and was able to drink it quite well. Good luck Kristy!

OK...I am telling you folks ~ be careful on the regular pizza! TRY one of the tortilla pizza I've posted in my recipes, PIZZA PIZZA. The crust will be "thin" and you can add any kinds of toppings you want. I've made 12 different pizzas during my campout this past weekend and the people just loved it. So, now they are planning to have this as our "Pu Pus"...which are our afternoon snacks. They are perfect sized apposed to the large slice of regular pizza. OK, enough of pizza. My cravings after the soup stage were an egg omelet with bacon and cheese and salsa. This is what I had for breakfast on my first day. I had chicken for lunch and then steak for dinner. It was AWESOME! I also have a menu for the week (I know, I know...but I wanted to organized/learn my eating habits and this was a good thing for me). This also helps me to make sure I had my proteins in too. I actually used Excel spreadsheet to calculate my daily calorie intake. I know this may seem too far fetched for you all...but this is for ME. I've paid good money for this band and I have to do the work to help me along. I treat myself with a snack too, such as a fudgesicle, Pringles, nuts, beef jerky, and the 100 calorie snacks are awesome too.

Is this the way it's supposed to feel?
JazzyJude replied to BeBe's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
EXCELLENT post Jann. This is how I feel as well. I, myself, want to have more control of what I am eating. I NEED to know what I am eating is for the best for me and choosing the right foods, quality food, is what I need to learn. This also applies to exercising too. Yes, the band is a tool, but we use this tool as a team along with the food and exercises we do for our own body. I want to know that if for some reason I had to have the band remove, I will still have that knowledge to do portion control and commit to my well being with exercising and such. I don't want the band to overwhelm me with too tight of a fill that I am forced to drink or eat smaller portion. Sorry folks, didn't mean to rambling on...but, to me, it's all about how I am going to start living the new healthier me from here on in. ((HUGS!))...Jude ^,,^ -
Hi Everyone! I'm baaackkk!! Well, I kept a journal of my daily walks while vacationing, thinking it may encourage me to keepon going forward. Here's my tally: Thur, 11/6 - 3818 steps Fri, 11/7 - 5868 steps Sat, 11/8 - 13,742 (9324 steps in the am and afternoon (at the cattle call) AND 4418 in the evening!) Sun, 11/9 - 8,976 steps Mon, 11/10 - 11,510 steps! YES!!! SO, for a person who HATES walking, this was so cool for me. This was all walking outdoors at the campground we were at, so that was the uniqueness for me. I also lost a pants size! I am gong to do Jann's suggestion of doing the walk in home with Leslie Sansone. She has a variety of DVDs to choose from. YES...I actually did break the 10,000 mark! YIPPEE!!! So, if I can do it ~ YOU CAN DO IT TOO! WALK ON!!!

I went to OCC in TJ and spent less than $8000. If you are having the surgery in US, it varies from state to state.

EXCELLENT recipe! I've something close to this but using papaya. I will have to dig it up and share it. But this is a good, simple drink, and like you, I hate to drink plain o' water by it self...it 'needs' a kick in it to entice me! Thanks Jann!
-
OH YES! Got to have this soon...! I think I will use Frank's hot sauce somehow too or to replace the salsa...YUM!!! Good one Jann!

Hi Trav! WTG!! You are doing great and keep up the good work. Using Benefiber powder or chewable tablets OR the chewable Fiber Choice are great for hunger! I've yet to ever had any hungry pains at all. The couple of times I did have the 'growling' is when I had forgotten to take them. Now, it fits into my regular routine with my vitamins, etc. Also, it helps with any rotor rooter job you might need to stay regular. Hope this helps! Jude ^,,^
