If you are referring to OCC in TJ...yes, it is safe. I had my surgery there on Oct 8 and several people have gone since. What are you worrying about? -
OH Way to go Jann! That is GREAT!!! You will soon reach your WL goal soon enough! I was never a walker, too boring, until yesterday. I finally focused on my surroundings and found a new interest. But I really prefer to do my exercises inhouse. I will continue to walk outdoors as I LOVE the outdoors. So, this whole walking thing is truly a HUGE challenge for me. I need to investigate on Leslie Sansone videos. And do you just do 'stationary' walks on the floor watching her video on TV? I am truly interesting...

I sweetheart! So glad you are back - we missed your sorely! I hope you had your peace too. Yes, 3 was difficult. I thought positively for each of them and it helped me through. But you all here helped me too, to keep my chin up and focus forward. I hope it will for you too. Continue to be strong! ((HUGGING YOU BIG TIME SWEETIE!)) -

Jena ~ nice post and thanks for sharing...all so true. Been there with my first husband with spousal abuse. Long story, but towards the end of our 'relationship', I didn't know who I was anymore and 'woke up' one morning wanting my own self back! I finally made a decision and kicked him out. Like you, he kept coming back - NO WAY! I felt alone but I was a HAPPY loner and vowed NO ONE was going to treat me like he did...and NO man will disrespect me for who I am. He will need to prove to me he is worthly to be in my life, as I would be to his. Being together means to work with each other as a team. Sorry for babbling on but things progressed and, of course, I became a self reliant person. And now, I am growing with you all with my new band life! Thanks for listening to me... -
What I have learned in my first 6 months
JazzyJude replied to Jacklynrae's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
EXCELLENT post Jacklynrae. I for one am a realistic person and know that no one is like me exactly. I don't compare with others because what works for them, may not work for me. BUT, I LOVE how each of us are sharing HOW we are doing things. I like the idea of a variety of options I can choose from, to see what works for ME and MY band. After awhile, things get staggnant or you're on a plateau...maybe incorporating a little change in your daily routine with one of someone else's idea. BUT also, it takes a post like yours to re-awaken my focus on my weight loss journey and maybe change my goal to smaller reachable goals. Thank you for sharing your post...it means a lot! -
Taz...I know you said to come on back if you hit 5000 or 10,000...which I hadn't done just yet. But this is my small NSV and I had reached 3200 today! I kept wanting to beat my 2400 yesterday...and I did it! Trust me, I'm not a walker at all and I actually didn't have my iPod because I was listening to you and Mona talking about the scenery and such. I thought I turned my thoughts towards that and discovered I was looking at people homes and noticing the architech (sp?) and was in awe that I really took the time to notice! The way the breeze were blowing through the trees...it was an awesome moment for me and I finally understood what you all were talking about. So, tomorrow is another goal setting day for me. I will be gone Thursday thru Monday, going to the rodeo campout to El Centro. They have a walk path around the campground and going to give it some seriousness in going at least twice a day, walking the whole park. Let see what happens. Thank you for letting me share this with you...

Hi Shelby...oh yes, the chewables are MUCH better...trust me! Now when I was on the soup stage, I never really had a hard time until the last 2 days...knowing that I was to have to 'real' food within reaching point was very tempting...but I held ground and never cheated. I varied my items I can have...it helped me alot. I would have my yogurt first thing, then a shake, then I would have the soup...drank my choices of water, protein water, Special K20 water, and also Cyrstal Light varieties. Then come dinner time, I would have soup and then i treat myself with a fudgescile or popsicle. THE next day, I mixed it around...have the soup first thing, or have my dessert first before I had my soups, etc. Also, I didn't do alot of different kinds of soups either. I pretty much stuck with Cathy's simple Crm of Potato and Crm of Cheddar soups and mixed in some herbs and spices and then I did the same thing with the tomato soup. I also took the Fiber Choice and Benefiber too...to keep it 'rotor rooter' clean! LOL -
That is AWESOME! So, how many miles was the walk?
-
EXCELLENTpost MamaMichelle!!! And it's testimonial to your weight loss now!! You look GORGEOUS!
-
Hi San, Your dr will decide on the band size when he sees your stomach. For the first 21 days, if you are going by OCC's postop diet, you don't have to count calories. But when you start on day 22, eating solids, you would go between 1000 to 1200 calories per day.

Hi Isabella, That number is how much weight I need to lose to get down to my first goal of 150 lbs. So far, I've lost 34 lbs and quite happy with it. How much weight are you wanting to lose? I haven't looked at people's BMI, just the pounds loss, as you lose, of course, your BMI will be lowered too! -

[Hey Guys...try the Chewable Centrium...MUST better tasting than the liquid stuff in my opinion. -
Hi Renee...so sorry you had such a hard time with this...but like Donna says, just a minor set back. And by your writing, it sounds like you are going to be ok and you are picking up the pace with positive motivation! GREAT! Please keep us posted on your progress and thanks for sharing this experience. It would help me and the others to know what are the options. I love the way you motivate yourself to go forward...WTG!
