  1. Donna~ you are not alone on this! I have been worrying about this too, since I start on my solid foods a week from today. I keep listening to what others are syaing about sip, sip sip your liquids, take TINY bites and chew, chew, chew 30 times, and walk, walk, walk!! It's training your mind to do this and that is what I am doing, even though I don't have any restrictions as of yet, if I have any 'bulky' bits in my soups, to practice the chewing part. Hope this helps a little!

    Egg Wraps

Bump...someone wanted to see this recipe...
  3. Oh trust me, with this soup you can do lots of variations! I've turned it into a veggie soup before using zucchinis and squash...oh you name it, I did it! HA! So glad you enjoyed it! I had it also yesterday with out the chicken...hubby ate them! I have also tried turkey meat too, as well with sone different kinds of fish. It's amazing how creative you can get with this soup!
  4. EXCELLENT post Cathy! I've printed this simple meal guide for me. You are doing awesome. Doddles...I've heard of some going back to basic, as if you've just had your surgery, and start retraining your stomach and mentality. Start with the clear liquids, then the creamy soups stage, then start progression of solids. Some say it had given them a 'jump start'. Even though I had my surgery 2 weeks ago (is that all???)...I am keeping a daily journal of what I eat, my feelings, my small reachable goals, exercising, etc. Hope this helps! Keep the focus and go forward. Your band is still your tool, just need to change something to get you going again. Keep in touch with your progess!
  5. Here'a a few other sites to might try: www.allrecipes.com (use the search box for vegetarian recipies) www.vegCooking.com www.yvesveggie.com I've used many of their sites many, many times and they have endless recipes and oh so good! Hope this helps!
  6. Excellent post Jann! I've printed this up for my binder as well. yes, it is long but very informative! Thanks for sharing this!
  7. Dana~ If Dr. Ortiz says he is a good dr and you want to save money and it's closer to home...go for it! Sure he says it's suggested to go back to OCC for your first fill because he wants to make sure all is well, etc. BUT, Dr. O has confident in him for you to go to him...otherwise, he would have said some negative and explain why, etc. You are lucky...some have a terrible time finding a dr nearby home! ((hugs!))
  8. That is so great Cathy! I am happy for you. With you losing 3 lbs and having your Mum, you are on cloud 9! WTG! So glad this fill was a good one for youse!
  9. Well, it's definitely not for you now. I was told after your fill, you would go on liquids because you may feel tight. In fact, depending on your fill, you maybe go in progression like you when you start postop - liquids, then full liquids and progress with solid foods. I am just remembering what Julie went through and it's a good precautionary thing to remember. But, everyone's body is different and you may have a good fill and go from there. Good luck with your fill!
  10. Jann...there's no way I could eat this during the 'creamy soup' stage? It's too bulky with the meats and such? Right? AND, there is no blending this either...so we would have to wait on our solid days to eat this, right? Go ahead, give me an excuse to eat this NOW! LOL
  11. Oh yes...got to fit this in my 'scheduled meal plan' next week! GROAN! You guys are just killing me while I am on full liquids only! But I will sruvive the LAST 8 days of it!!! Thanks Julie - love, love, love turkey!!! ((HUGS!))
  12. LOL! Believe it or not...I am having that tonight too without the chicken piesces (darn this 'creamy soup' stage!)...but after Oct 29, watch out! I've a few more recipes of soups, stews and chilis...perfect season for them!! I'll post in a the next couple of days... Let me know how you like this soup!!
  13. Oh YES!!! There is a God! Thanks for this info!!!
  14. Can we have rice being banded? I thought pasta, rice and breads were kind of taboo? If we can, that is awesome!! I love rice!!1
  15. GREAT Valleygirl! So glad your research ended with the lapband! You won't be sorry...it's a good thing!! Keep us posted on your progress!!

  19. OK...the offer still stands in case you can't locate them ((HUGS!))!
  20. My Aunt made this a lot when she was on Weight Watcher's. It is so different but oh so good during this Fall/Winter season. If you are on the 'creamy soup' stage (just take out the chicken). NOTE: This is a very simple recipe. Make sure you make this in a 5 or 6 qt crockpot, it makes a LOT, or you can halve it, and it would fit in a 3.5 qt crockpot. Crockpot BUFFALO CHICKEN SOUP ~ Version I Ingredients: 6 cups milk (I used 1%) 3 cans 98% fat free Cream of Chicken Soup 3 cups cooked, shredded Chicken (thigh meat might work best if you have good restriction) 1 cup Sour Cream (I used fat free) 1/4-1/2 cup hot sauce (I like Frank's Red Hot) Directions: 1. Preheat crockpot. 2. Put all ingredients in the crockpot on low/med for about 4 hours, until soup is hot. Depending on your crockpot, you may want to increase the heat to HIGH and stir frequently. NOTE: If you are having this during the creamy soup stage, still use the chicken pieces as it does give the soup extra poultry flavor through out the soup mixture. Freeze the chicken pieces for later use!
  21. Jann - I can send you the "On the Go" individual packets if you are interested? Send me a PM for your address. Donna - Special K2O are here in So. California, in San Diego are at Targets and Food 4 Less. I haven't looked elsewhere since they had them there. I am sure if F4L has them, then Ralph's stores has them too - same company.
  22. Thanks Jann, for the directions!!! It worked and I posted my very first recipe! Egg Wraps! I want to try your recipe the first week I am on solids...sounds so good! I will let you know how it tasted! Thanks for sharing this!

    Egg Wraps

Egg Wraps Ingredients: 6 eggs 3 oz parmesan cheese Directions: 1. Blend together. Pour into cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. 2. Bake for 10 minutes at 325 (Or until browning). 3. Cut into four pieces. Makes a great low carb wrap for sandwiches/rollups/burritos. You can add other stuff too like garlic and rosemary, or any other herb and spices you may like, just to give it a little more kick. NOTE: The cheese adds as a binder, so don't try it without it. (I did and it did not work well.)
  24. YAY!!! Welcome to Bandland! I was banded on Oct 8, so we are new too. Don't forget to sip, sip, sip and WALK, WALK, WALK! I found walking really helps getting rid of those gassy bubbles!! AND, take those Gas X...A God saver!! Keep us posted on how you are doing?
  25. Oh so very much my recipe too and yes, you are right! The chicken is very tender and juicy! Thanks Jann for this recipe...one for my solid days next week!!! woo hoo! Now I am drooling!
