  1. OK...now I am going to try this natural cleansing as well, since I've finished with the Dual-Action Cleanse program for 30 days. This one here seems doable and to me, will fit in with my menu planning quite well. I will keep you posted on how I fair on this...
  2. Hi everyone ~ just wanted to give you my update on using the Dual-Action cleanse that you see advertized on TV. I've lost 8 pounds in one month. Now, I am sure I would have lost more as I've changed my exercise program drastically, and I am building muscle mass to firm and tone. I am having a BM every day, sometimes twice, depending what I ate ~ the more fiber, the more I go! I had NO problem taken the pills and they were a lot smaller than my Omega-3 fish oil capsules! I took 2 pills (one body purifier and one color cleanse) and one Green Tea Fat Burner, both in the morning and in the afternoon, for 3- days. That was it! I've feel energized, no bloatness, hydrated, and slelep like a baby! This was a good thing for me to do. I WILL do this again, after I do a 300-day lemon water cleanse Vangirl reminded me of. Oh, since doing this and exercising, I feel like I am starting to have a firmer stomach! My abs are starting to firm up ~ Yeah! Once again, I got this product at WalMart for $31.84 and it included a 15-day trial of Green Tea Fat Burmers.
  3. WTG Dianna ~ Yeah! Glad to see things are moving for you and really take the time to enjoy this fill. Work with it and you will see results. Portion is the key too. Dana...I am to OCC, with Kristy, this coming Saturday for my 3rd fill...I've plateaued long enough and it's time to have a 'tweak' put in. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE and here's to good resdtriction!
  4. STOP comparing yourself with others. You can't do this. Whatever the reason, your lower BMI, your height, your medical issues, whatever...you are not going to be the same with anyone. YOUR body is your body and no one is going to be the same as you. Like bjansert says, BE PATIENT. You've spent good hard earning money for this band and it's not going to work within months. Stressing over how much you only lost verses to others losing lots, is not helping you at all. Don't focus too hard on yourself...as you won't lose and get frustrated. You need to have faith and believe the band will work in your own body's time frame. Most definitely listen to what everyone is saying. Don't risk getting another wee fill nowj ust because you can't feel restriction at the moment. Like the others, I didn't feel the restriction on my first fill until a week later. With my 2nd fill, which I had on Dec 20 last year, the same and I've been on this same fill since. Right now, I've plateau for a bit and decided to go and get my 3rd fill next weekend at OCC. It's time for me and I gave it my earnest try. Remember, you first fill is like a 'primer' to get your body and band use to the idea of being tightened like Mona says. It's part of the program and it's progressive program. Getting a few fills at a time is a good thing because you and your band are trying to adjust accordingly and then you work your band at that level of restriction until you've got it mastered. Then when you've done all you can and start to plataeu again and not losing, is when you go for another fill. Like Smiley, I concentrate on the portion control verses to what I can eat before I get full and that is how I really lost most of my weight. I don't eat more than a cup at each meal, whether I am full or not. I am trying to use more of my own willpower over the band's control. I now can start to live and go forward with my daily life instead of focusing too much on my eating. I do other things to occupy myself than to wonder when I am going to eat next. It's all in the mindset my dear! Hang in there...give the band a chance to do it's thing and keep measuring your food accordingly. You will get it ~ YOU CAN DO THIS! ((HUGS!))
  5. LMAOROTF! I laughed so hard, I've a stitch on my side! Oh, this is so hilarious! Thanks for bringing a smile first thing for me! hehehe...wait til I share this with the others...way too funny!
  6. Thanks Carrie! Guess where I am heading tonight! I am going to try the bags first, before getting the cannisters. ((HUGS!))...thanks again Carrie! This is why I love the forum for all to share...we are NOT selfish to share and spread the experiences. YOU ARE ALL SO AWESOME!!!!
  7. A very wise decision...IMHO!
  8. Hm, it seems as though you are on solids now? Is chicken all you eating? You need fiber girlfriend! Also, you may hate breakfast, but trust me, eating breakfast will kick start your day with energy. You don't have to have a huge one. Cereal with or without milk, one egg omelet with bacon and cheese (look at those proteins intake!)...things like that. If you don't care for that, have some fruit and/or veggies...and put unflavored protein powder in your decaf coffee. You need to balance your meals a little more. Also, you need to drink a minimum of 64 oz (8/8oz) of water. I now drink anywhere between 8 to 11 glasses a day, depending on what hard core exercises I do. I also use those wonderful 'to go' drink mixes to flavor it up and Crystal Light and Ocean Spray offer some great flavors! I do drink tea though, but weak. I just want the flavor and it relaxes me in the evening. If you are not exercising, then do it. Walking right now is the best investment you can do for yourself, to prepare yourself for the cardio and strength/weight exercises you will be doing. Also, you need to burn more calories by exercising then your calorie intake. Remember, the band is a tool and you work WITH it. It can't do the work alone. Good luck!
  9. I haven't tried their brand. Is it thick and creamy? Do you mix with water or milk? What size cannisters do they have? Now you got me thinking to try this!!! Thanks Carrie!
  10. I totally agree with Linda. You need the time to heal after your surgery, which is considered major. Why push the point? I have read posts where some had started earlier and they were still tender from surgery and their port area. I didn't have the soreness, but I thought if I started earlier than what was suggested, I COULD have discomfort and that would prolong my healing time. I waited until my 3 months were 'up' and then started slowly with the abs and I hadn't had one problem whatsoever. In the meantime, I did lots of walking and that was a good thing for me to do, as I was huffing and puffing after doing the walks. By the time the "3 months were up" to do other hard core exercises, I wasn't out of breath as much as when I started. But listen to your body...you are the best person to know if you can or can't do it. IMHO, I highly recommend to wait out the time and know that your healed enough to not worry about any mishaps with your port or band.
  11. I would say if you are: ~ overeating your "1/3" portion of what you use to eat and still hungry; ~ stayed with the food guidelines; ~ exercised accordingly (change it around?...and if you are sweating it out, drink more liquids); ~ drinking all your water (throughout the day, and maybe another 8 oz?); ~ eating all your proteins (msaybe up your proteins a bit?) ...then maybe you should consider to get another fill. But I would first wait out until you are much better and not sick. Then you can make a sound decision then. In the meantime, stick with measuring your foods and be consistent. Hang in there. Listen to your body...give everything a chance before making a decision. You don't want to have too tight of a fill either.
  12. 13. Nice post Lisa and thanks for sharing. Interesting site as well. Well, it says mine is 146 and I wanted to be 150...so it's within 5 lbs...petty cool!
  14. Oh, I'm sorry Ckiki! I thought you had read my other post on a different thread titled 'colon cleanse'. Yes, it's pill form only and it has that nature outdoorsy smell, which to me is pleasant. In addition, I take the Green Tea Fat Burners gel capsules at the same time. It's so awesome! It's neat and clean and easy to take...take one body purifyer and one colon cleanse pill both in the morning and the other in the afternoon. If you are not having a BM that day or the next, then you can up another colon cleanse pill to help it along. TRUST ME, it really works! Hope this helps!
  15. Lisa ~ like the others have said, when I first came on this forum, you were one of the main "speakers' who has helped me get started. I am very happy to see you are succeeding in your journey and you are doing FANTASTIC! You are driven and you are enjoying your life! WTG Lisa! Thanks for posting this, as we all like to know what's our next plan after we've reached our goal weight and how to maintain even a better healthier lifestyle! ((HUGS!))...
  16. Ckiki...I love this product so far! I still have another week left and will report to all of you on this. Then I am going to do Vangirl's lemon water for more detoxing cleanse. What I like about the Dual Action is that is easy (take a purifyer and cleanse in the morning and afternoon) and I don't have the bloastness I use to have, less gassy issues, and more energy! I use the fat burners with it too. Overall, I feel good and feel back to normal.
  17. Oh I am so with you Linda on Frank's Red Hot sauce. In fact, I can have any hot sauce or spicies. Depending on what I eat for the day, determines if I need to 'coat' my stomach ahead of time, which I have a few mouthful of a smoothie yogurt and viola! So far, I have not trouble eating any spicy food. I do, however, eat in moderations with spciy foods and try to balance it out with other plain protein food, such as beans with cheese.
  18. I am totally in too! I am starting my Biggest Loser Challenge today and it's perfect timing for me! I am a team leader in this BL Challenge and it's for (8) weeks, starting today. I am doing mini weekly challenges for the team and it's fun! So, we all can do this to get this weight loss journey a swift kick in the buttocks! LET'S GO EVERYONE...WE CAN DO THIS!
  19. Carrie sweetheart ~ I know what you are going through. I went for weeks without losing the pounds, BUT I've lost inches? Go figure. Also, I was focusing way too much, which stressed me out and finally I just eased up and let the days flow by naturally. You've got to live your own life as well with the people around you. You can't force an issue that is not going to happen overnight. It takes time, realistically time, for body changes to stay. It took me less than 2 months to lose over 40 lbs, so my body was not 'awake' and didn't participate with the loss part! Yeah...so that is why we are plateauing. There are ways to get a jump kick by upping and changing fitness routines and meal planning. Remember, everyone is going to be different in this kind of changes. What works for me, may not work for you. Also, if you are doing hard core and using weights, remember you are starting to build muscles by toning and firming them. Well, that in itself will give you some weight. Remember, you gained this weight for a period of time, you cannot expect to lose too quickly...AND, that is not a true statement to lose 2 lbs a week for everyone. Too many factors involve, body chemistry, shape and form, what you eat, fitness done, what nutrients, vitamins, and supplements you are taking. With all said and done, no wonder we are stressing out! You need to look at this weight loss journey as a whole and break it down from there to reasonable goal steps for YOU. Not everyone is going to have the same weight goal. It's the same principle of a baby....the first tooth, the crawl, the walking, the potty training, etc. The weight loss is the same...the preop, the post op, the solid stage, meal planning, fitness tracking, etc. Our problem is that we are focusing too much on what we need to do and stress = frustrations when we want results now! It's not going to happen, I can tell you that and I am sure the older bandsters will tell you the same. You need to set realistic goals in like 6 months from now. I finally can attest to this way of thinking, as I am changing around my food/fitness tracking and a few other things. AND, you still have the weight loss and you haven't gained it back! THAT is a good thing! Hang in there babe...it will work out soon enough. Just need to relax and enjoy the ride. LIke the girls have said, you are doing everything right and continue what you are doing, your weigh will eventually come off. TIP: DON'T do strengthening workouts every day, but every other day. DO cardio everyday, at least 30 minutes a day. Best to you!
  20. Yes, this is normal and I only had it a couple of times but it went away soon afterwards. Be patient, it will go away. Glad to see you are listening to your body and called for help from OCC. Don't forget ~ you just went through major surgery. Your stomach is so mad at you! The food in your newly pouch is saying "What the heck? You want me to go through that TINY hole?" Your throat is saying, "Hurry up! There's a line (of food) behind me wanting to go through too!"...so, your whole body is going out of whack and then your brain starts to 'stress out' and trying to find a solution. It can be a vicious circle. Just relax and use your instinct and try sipping some warm (not hot) tea and ttreat yourself a bubble bath and dream of your new body in that cute 'little black dress' you are planning to purchase! YEAH!!
  21. You should take your daily requirement of nutrients everyday, whether by food or vitamins/supplements or both. Do whatever it takes to get them in naturally and then the rest from the help of vitamins and supplements. You should be doing this anyway, as your body craves the balance it gives to you. Everyone is going to be different as to what and how many to take. I for one take vitamins and supplements everyday, without a miss and have been for many years, so nothing is new to me on this adventure...except to add Biotin (which helps the hair loss) and Fat Burners. I use to daily take the Fiber Choice (for hunger pangs) and either the chewables or the unflavored powder Benefiber (for the roto rooter), but right now I am not needing them. I am currently doing the Dual-Action Cleanse and I've lost 8 lbs so far with that. So, I am re-adjusting myself for a more balance body complex.
  22. So sorry you are going through this. I hope you are getting medical attention for this. Someone else had some issues like this and went to the doc and she had gout. Does your top of your toes hurt and maybe a slightly red? If so, these are part of the symptoms. Please call and have yourself checked out. Also, go over your vitamins and supplements to make sure you are taking the right daily required dosage. What you don't eat nutritionally, you need to take citamins and supplements to keep your body balance. Best to you...
  23. She is doing FANTASTIC! She is so driven and she continues to be a big supporter...one HOT looking Mama!!
  24. Same here Janelle! She was one of my mentors when I started on here and helped me get started on the right foot.
  25. I am the same as Mindy with the huggy pillow. I didn't have that much pain though, mostly discomfort. I didn't do a whole lot of sitting around either. I did a lot of mini walks to prevent any issues with my port or if I had any gas bubbles 'hiding' in me.
