  1. Hi Angie! Good to see you again. Good luck tomorrow on your fill, hope this one does the trick for you. I have had four so far and this one seems to be doing pretty good. The small portion is a big thing for me. If I got eat..hmm say fajitas, I have to put a couple fo pieces on my little plate and some beans. If not I will try to eat them off the plate, know good and well I cant eat all of that, but for some reason I try!!! Go figure! hmmm hello Carrie....lol Keep us posted on how it goes! Carrie
  2. I wanted to also add, if I drink coffee, something really hot, it makes the pain go away.
  3. WOW! I have never thought about this! I have sholder pain since being banded when I get "hungry" or so I thought????????I have had a problem for the last month or so with (this is going to be really gross, sorry) but my poop being REALLY green. I have googled and googled and they say it can be from it passing really quick through our bodies or from food coloring, which is not my problem. I just wonder if I dont have a gallbladder issue? Carrie
  4. Thanks guys! I will give her a call. Carrie
  5. Hi Stormy!, Congrats on the 41 pounds....EVERYONE IS DIFFERANT!!! Some little bird, (Jazzy) not going to name any names or nothing...lol, told me to start counting my calories. I was SO sure of myself that there was NO way I could be eating or gettig close to 1200 calories a day and BOY was I WRONG! Being hard headed as I am, it took me a few, ok several several months to start counting EVERYTHING that went into my mouth each day. I was going over the calories each day. After I started counting and really watching my Water and Protein intake, was VERY HUGE FOR ME....I started really loosing. I now am very aware of what goes into my mouth and I can prNot saying I dont EVER eat this, just dont keep it around to eat. If it is bad for me, I dont have it in my house, I will eat it. I have found that I have to stay around 800 calories for a couple of days and then bounce up to about 1200 + for a couple of days, I bounce back and forth. EVERYONE is different and I have tried SO many things and this is what works for me.....Try different things, you might have to try them a week at a time, see what works for Stormy........ One more thing, you might not be eating enough calories either........ Hope this helps! Carrie

  11. Robbyn, Girl you are going to do so well after your fill! I remember getting my first fill it helped alot, I did however go back around 2-3 weeks I think for my second, just was not the restriction I needed, it will take a few fills to get there. You have been through so much and this is just what you need to get you back on track. YOU WILL DO GREAT! GOOD LUCK TO YOU! Carrie
  12. Hi and welcome to the forum..... First of all I want to say this.... You are doing this for YOU and no one else. YOU and only YOU can make this decision. As far as what people say, the results speak for them self. So what if you needed help, we all needed help or we would not have this WONDERFUL, LIFE CHANGING tool. I was heavy all of my life. I hit my heaviest at 262 when I made the decision to have the band. My family thought I had lost my mind going to Mexico to get this band. They however supported me 150%. I was tired of being overweight, I was tired of carrying the weight around. I was tired of not being able to run around the yard with my family, I was tired of wondering if the tanning bed was going to crack...lol because I was too heavy! I did this for ME! It is a life change. I have not had a soda since Oct 2008 and guess what, I dont miss it. There are however some foods that I do miss, like pizza, hamburgers and hotdogs, cant eat the bread, however I had my surgery Nov 14th 2008 and was wearing a size 20. I am now 195 and I am wearing a size 12. I will do with out the sodas and bread ANYDAY! You have to be mentally able to say ok, I have eating my cup of food, I am done. You have to say ok, I ate, I have to wait an hour before I can drink my water. HOWEVER you can do it. I eat SO heathy and I exercise as much as I have ever in my entire life. The results that you start to see, makes you wanna do even more and work even hard. You do have to work with this tool, it is not going to fall off over night. I think its all about what YOU want and if you can be honest with yourself and say, I am not going to be able to eat this, this and this and be ok with that. I can honesly say I did not think I would be able to give up diet coke, but was AMAZED at how easy it was when it came down to it. I would encourge you to research more and post your questions and look at the photo gallery. Good Luck to you and you will make the best choice for you! Carrie
  13. Benjigirl, This is an emotional rollercoster for alot of us. For me, it is me wanting the weight off NOW,( acutally the day I was banded I thought I was going to be instantly skinny...lol), hoever this is so not the case. I am 32 years old and have been heavy all of my life. I made the decision to get banded for ME. I put myself first for once in my life. It has been truly the best decision I have ever made and I still have a long way to go. I started my preop at my heaviest 262, I am 5'6. I lost 17lbs on preop and was banded around 246lbs. The 14th of this month will be 9 months and I am 3 pounds shy of 70lbs lost. When I first was banded the weight was coming off pretty good. When I started back on "food" is when I started slowing down. It took me FOREVER to get out of the 220s, then it took me FOREVER to get to 210's then it took me FOREVER to get under 200lbs and OMGoshhh I did not think that that WOULD EVER come, but you know what it DID. The funny thing was it was all in my mind. I thought I was doing HORRIBLE until I went for my fourth fill and my Doc looked back on my chart and told me how great I was doing. I average about 6 lbs a month., which is very healthy. I was so discourage because I wanted it gone NOW, not even realizing how well I was acutally doing. The band is not easy. I have to work so hard with it and it is a day to day battle with myself. I have to choose daily what I am going to eat and what I am NOT going to LET myself eat. That is my battle. I try to keep only high protien foods in he house and keep the NO NO foods out. If they are in my house, I will eat them, I know this so I keep them out. Dont get me wrong, I am not saying I dont ever eat NO NO foods because I do. Yesterday was HORRIBLE for me, I had ice cream and a snowcone, both LOADED with sugar. So today I am eating only good high protien foods for me. I started out a size 18-20 and now I am in a 12. What helped me through the doubts about never being able to loose, honestly was this forum and looking back at so many people on here and the pics. There are so many on this board, Lisa, Karen, MommaMichele, Kim, Blazn, Pammie, Shelby, Sabrina, Dennis, Dana, Jazzy, I am leaving SO many out, EVERYONE on this board is doing SO well and are all so AMAZing. There pics and their stories are amazing and this is what helps me EVERYDAY! Keep up the faith, you will do GREAT, you can do this, take it day by day. Read and look at the pictures. Take pics and measurements of your self monthly and go back and look at them. Sometimes it is so hard for us to see ourselves and how far we have came! Good Luck to you! Carrie
  14. Lisa, I am so glad that I read this.....I am 5'6 and right now I am at 195. I have talked my boss into letting me take off in March of this coming year for two weeks for a TT and Breat Lift (implants, what ever they are going to need, they just need something bad..lol)..My inner thighs are really bad too....anyway I had made my "surgery goal" at 165-170, however I have never thought about how hard it is for me to try to exercise right now. I carry ALL of my weight in my stomach...I have two tummys, my top roll and then my bottom that is very large. I had a C-section with my son 14 years ago so I already have a HUGE apron as it is now. My bottom tummy is not all just loose skin, there is still alot of fat, my top roll is getting more loose and giggly...I hope I am explaining this correct so you know what I am talking about. My husband has gotten OBESSED with P90X and jogging. We do everything together, however it hurts for my tummys to bounce. I have never though about how much they do holds me back and how much I could do if it was not in my way. My question is, I thought that if you had a tt when you are still "large" when I got down to 145-150 if I do, will the skin be loose???? I am vey curious about this. There is no way that I can have the procedure before March of next year and I am sure I will be down 25lbs before then, but If I have options that I thought were not possible I would love to know about them...... Carrie
  15. lol...It took me FOREVER to figure that out..... That is a wonderful photo!!! Carrie
  16. Vicki I agree with Dawn and I think one of my biggest problems when I get stuck is that I eat too fast or take to big of bits, not the foods fault all of the time.... Carrie
  17. Hi Red on Congrats!!! Here are some thing on your list that I CAN NOT eat....The only thing that I just could not eat up until around my second fill what the boiled eggs....My band HATED eggs! and still does unless they are scrambled VERY runny!....I have had four feels and now the foods on your list that I cant eat is Bread, pasta Shimp, have to be VERY careful with and only at night on a very loose day, no tortillas at all, .crackers, very limited, I just dont try...Something else that is not on your list is a Carrott and it does not how little of a piece, a carrott is just EVIL!!!!!..everthing else i can eat....POPCORN,....YUMMM...Have to be very carefule with that one, I can eat ALOT of popcorn.... Carrie
  18. Shelby, I have tried everything....eating only three meals a day, eating only when Im hungry, eating three meals plus snacks in between, high calorie day, low calorie day...Nothing has seemed to work for me. After reading Sabrina state that she was only getting in very few calories, I remembered a conversation that I had with one of my friends who was banded here in the US and her Doctor tells her NOT to eat over 800 calories a day. So I thought I would try it this week. I have lost 3 pounds since Monday. Breakfast has never been a big meal for me so I have been eating a bananna or a protein bar. Lunch has been getting stuck, so I have drank a protien shake for lunch and eat a plum for snack and maybe a cup of coffee mid afternoon. ...Dinner has been about 2 maybe 3 oz of meat and maybe another plum....I dont know but this week has been different..... Good luck on your pouch test and let us know how it goes..... Carrie
  19. Vicki, I agree, the band does have a mind of its own. I have not been able to eat breakfast almost the entire time of being banded and now since my fourth fill, I can eat a little bit of food for breakfast , however, now seems like lunch and breakfast have swapped. I get stuck at lunch, so this week I have drank a protien shake for lunch....very weird. I just have to be very cautious of what I can and can eat and it is almost a day to day thing of what that might be. Hang in there and you might want to write down which foods you are eating that you are getting stuck on and which meal that it happens on. Look back and see if there is a pattern with food. I dont do good with pasta, so I dont even try to eat it. Also my band HATES left overs....I think its the heat from the microwave drying the food out, but I DONT do left overs.... Good Luck to you! Carrie
  20. Hi Angelo! I think you are making a very good choice and of course you are welcome here. This is a great place for support! The people on this forum are AWESOME! However any questions you have, we all would be more than happy to try to help you out with! Congrats and best wishes! Carrie
