  1. Congrats Krisit! =D> That is wonderful. You sound like you ae doing great! I need to get myself back into gear with the exercise, have not been doing good with that AT ALL!!! Keep up the good work and keep us posted! Carrie
  2. Sabrina, I too agree that this is a hard one. I am so confused and stay that way all the time with this band. They say if you too little you dont loose, some days I feel like I eat alot and then somedays i feel like I dont...either way my weight is not moving. I have 3.30 right now and i just knew that this one would be the one. I too dont fill like I am eating alot, however I am not loosing. My normal day of food usually is one pack of oatmeal in the morning ....one chicken fillet (tyson chicken which migh be 2 oz per strip) with about 1/2 cup of cottage cheese or a peice of fruit and then what ever we have for dinner (about a cup) or a lien cuise which I dont eat all of. When I feel like I am not eating alot, I will add a protien bar in the morning for snack or afternoon for snack....Dont get me wrong, there are days that I do and can eat more...Its crazy...I just cant seem to find what works for me... As far as your fill........I would hate for you to get an unfill and then loose your "sweet spot" if you feel you are there and it sounds like it since you are loosing consistantly.........This is truely a hard one....Good luck and You will make the right choice for YOU! Carrie
  3. No we dont have those, we do have Smoothy King. I do get a shake from there every once in a while. They have one called the Gladiator that is 190 calories and 42 grams of protien. It is good. I always want to have my "reward for the week" with NO NO foods, which is usually Mexican food (for my chips and Dip) or is a Blizzard........ Carrie
  4. Sabrina, Im glad that you posted this. I am sure we all have done this before and all we can do is get back on track. If we were the "perfect" eaters and only ate what we were suppose to, none of us would be on this forum! My biggest issue and question is with slider foods. I dont have the problem of my band getting loose enough to eat what I want, I am pretty restricted, however there are two foods that I can eat. One is chips and Caso from Mexican food and the other is Blizzards from DQ...(ice cream with heath candy ).........I can eat the entire blizzard which is about 8-12oz (guessing).... I have a friend who eats and eats salade, no restriction with salad at all.....Will "slider" food stretch your band? Trust me Sabrina, you are not by yourself with this one...... Carrie
  5. Sabrina, I have a question. After receiving my fourth fill, which I still can eat just about the same as my third, how long did it take you to get to 180 after getting under 200. I am at 197-198 and I cant get it to BUDGE! I seem to go a good 3 weeks without nothing and then I will drop 5-6 lbs the next week. I am averaging about 6lbs a month. It might be me, but it just seems like the weight loss is coming to a HUGE HAULT......If I go a week and eat around 800 one day and 1200 the next back and forth I do ok, however if I eat one wrong thing, BAM, I am back up around a pound or two. It does have to be alot of something wrong................ Any suggestions? Carrie
  6. I too would love to see them..........thehales15@yahoo.com Carrie
  7. I just wanted to say Congrats!!!!!! I think you are just so Great and I am so happy for you. Thank you again for all the support you have given to me and so many others on this board! Carrie
  8. Just wanted to say congrats....You are doing great! Keep up the good work! Carrie
  9. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stormy all I got to say is OMGoshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....YOU ARE AWESOME! I would NEVER be able to do that and I think it is great that you did. That took ALOT of courage and you should be VERY proud of yourself!!!!! YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!! Carrie
  10. Stormy, I love reading your post, so funny! It sounds like you ARE doing better than you think......Just cant wait to see you on u-tube....come on stormy, take one for the team...lol......If my husband came home and there was a pole in the middle of our living room, I think he would pass out. I am VERY self contious. He would LOVE it if he walked in the door and ran into a pole, much less watched me swinging around one....lol...........Maybe, just Maybe one of these days.....lol Carrie
  11. One more thing I wanted to add. You most likely will have gas pains in your left shoulder (I still get them when I get really hungry, weird I know). Just take little sips of your liquids and walk walk walk. I tried the gas x strips but the walking back and forth in my living room seemed to help the most. Carrie
  12. Red, Congrats and Good Luck! You will do fine. I was extremly neverous, excited scared, I think everyone emotion you could have, I had it. You have done the hardest part of it all and that is sticking with your choice to change your life and trust me it is going to truly change your life. That in itself is what kept me EXCITED about the whole process, even the 21 days on liquid, which honestly was not as bad as I had imagined. I do know alot of people who had alot of head hunger, everyone is different, but for me it really was not that bad. I did have to keep my self busy. I was VERY tight when I came home, it would take me almost a whole day to finish a small bottle of apple juice and sometimes I would not finish it. I was not hungry. The PBing, you most likely will not experience this until you start eating food. It stands for productive burbing, which means this happens when you eat too much or get stuck and you burp and the food come back up in your mouth, (YUK!) I have only had this happen once. You will not choke on solids, honestly it took me right before my second fill to get "stuck". That was the day I will never forget. I had just gotten off the phone will my fill doc and told her that I can eat almost anything and did not fill like anything was different and WHAM!!! I had a piece of meat in my mouth, phone rang, I swallowed to answer the phone and got stuck! Yeah ok...I gotta band and yeah it does work...lol..... Anyway, you will do GREAT! You will not fail, you are wanting this, you do have to work with this band. It is not going to just fall off. You are going to have to make the right food choices and watch how much you eat (until you get really good restriction, after four fills, think I am at mine). You have to say NO to the NO NO foods! You will have to stay away from the slider foods, like chips and dips from Mexican resturants that I still can eat just as much off as before, but give me one bit of enchallida and Im done! You will learn what you can and cant do. This board is the best place for advice and the best support group of people that you could ever ask for! Good Luck to you and keep us posted! Carrie
  13. Hi and good luck on your pre-op diet. I think if I did this ANYONE can do this.. I am not sure what you are doing but I started mine a little early. I was so scared that I would not loose the weight so I actually did my pre-op for 17 days and in those lost 16 lbs, which I was SO excited about. I had a shake for breakfast and lunch and the a lien cusisin (under 300 calories) for dinner. The advise I would give to you is DO NOT weigh everyday. Set one day, say monday mornings at 7:00 and weigh at that time once a week. I would also start taking two fiber pills at 9am everyday with one chromium pill a day and then another 2 fiber pills at 3pm. This will cut down your hunger pains and trust me it WORKS!!!!!!. The first three days are the worst, get past these and down hill from there! Take one day at a time. Set you mind, ok today I am going to have a shake for breakfast, lunch and then a dinner at night. Try not to look at it as...I have another whole week to go. One day at a time helped me ALOT! Stay on this board as much as you can for support and advise, it does help to read and look at progress pics from others and to hear the success stories...... Good Luck to you, you can do this! Carrie
  14. Maggie, That is great that you are trying to get back on track, it is hard for me sometimes to stay on track. I have never been a "sweet" eater but since being banded...WOW I have to drive around ice creams places...lol I think I could eat Ice Cream everyday and that is SO weird to me. I have NEVER been an ice cream eater...anyway...I try to not go over 1200 calories a day. I do mix it up. One day I try to eat close to 1200 and the next I will only try to eat 800. This of course does not happen everyday, If I do eat high calorie, I do eat low the next day. I have also heard that it is good to eat carbs early in the morning, so I have been eating Oatmeal (kinda liquidy) for breakfast and then protein bar for morning snack. This seems to have kick started me, I was at a stand still for about 3 weeks. It is so weird, what works for me, will not work for someone else.........I think you just have to try things out. I have went from 1200 calories everyday for a week and nothing, to 1000 caloires so on and so on. The "mixing up" seems to work the best. Good Luck to you!~ Carrie
  15. Thanks for the post Lisa, I was wondering about watermelon. We get one almost every weekend, this is great news. Also love the way you posted were you got your "facts" from....lol Carrie
  16. What an Awesome post. You are so very honest with every word you wrote. You should be so proud of yourself! Thank you for that post! Congrats! Ps......I loved reading it, you should have went on and on..... Carrie
  17. Christy, Sorry I missed your post, was out of town alot last week....... I just wanted to say that you are doing GREAT and I agree with everyone else, you look AMAZING! So many people think that I took the "easy" way out by getting banded, they have no clue what we go through on a daily basis, we eat right and exercise more than the ones that are saying this and still it is very hard for us. Keep your head high and keep on keeping on! You are doing Wonderful! I go through weeks and weeks where I dont think I am EVER going to get this weight off, but I just keep on doing what we do and then all of a sudden, those lovely little scales that we all "love". ....lol will start to move! Please keep us posted. Best wishes to you! Carrie
  18. Stormy! YOU GO GIRL! That is Awesome and I know you have worked SO hard for this. It IS an amazing feeling. I seem to bounce between 2-3 pounds so I still am at 198-200. This morning I was 199. You have made it this far, STAY POSITIVE! Attitude is EVERYTHING in this process. The more I get down, the worse I seem to do with my eating, exercising and lossing the weight. You have accomplished so much already, dont look in the rear view mirror, stay focused on that straight road ahead~! By the way, how is the pole? Good Luck to you and again Congrats! Carrie
  19. Sabrina, You are doing so good, I really am happy for you and you look amazing! Congrats to you! Carrie
  20. ckiki, I agree, where would you be now without your band, if anything like I was going I would be that much heavier! You have not done bad for 6 months......You are right, everyone is different and I agree you would benefit from another fill. I had restriction and could really tell on my third fill. I would highly suggest to you logging your food and count your calories. When a food gets stuck, write it down and put the time of day that it got stuck. There are things that I can eat for dinner but not at lunch. I would also suggested HIGH protein foods. Ylou spent good money for this tool to help you and you yourself have said that you know you need to do better. Set a daily goal, ok today I am going to make it and I am only going to eat good foods and stay away fron the NO NO foods, when you make it through that day, set a goal for the next day, one day at a time! Go through your house and removed all "slider" foods if you have too. Lord knows I did, and still have to be really strict with myself. Another thing I would suggest, is get more involved with this board. As you know the support on here is AWESOME! Anytime you need advise, to vent, yell, scream or just read, we are here for you. If it was not for me logging on everday and reading everyones advise, opinions, and seeing that there are people on here that struggle with the same issues as I am, Im not sure I would be were I am..........You are in a slump, everyone has this, but you can pull yourself out of it. If you need to post something for us to help you with everyday, please do, we will help you as much as we can. Please keep us posted..........and good luck to you! Carrie
  21. Thanks Angela, its right round the corner! You are doing AWESOME! I dont think I am going to weigh again for like two weeks, I am so scared that I am going to see that "2" again...lol Carrie
  22. Alia, I have to really watch and try not to get too thursty throughout the day or I want to Guzzle as well. As others have said, it is not good for us to do this. There are times, after work outs, I will grab a bottle of water and turn it straight up and then my minds says....hmm Carrie you sure you wanna do that...lol kinda weird but something reminds me not to..... I have often wondered if I was drinking to fast, then I thought......If I am questioning my self If I am drinking to fast, I mostly likely am drinking to fast! Good luck to you! Carrie
  23. Thanks everyone! It is an AWESOME feeling, I honestly dont think I can think back and say I weighed 199, had to be junior, freshman year in High School! You guys are so WONDERFUL! Carrie
  24. I just had to do this one...... It has taken FOREVER (seems like it anyway) to see this on my scales this morning! Just had to share............. Carrie
  25. This to me is another great topic! I have struggle with the "correct" amount for me and I just cant seem to get it. It seems like the healther I eat and do my best to hit the 1200 calories I do ok. However if I stray from that and eat something "bad" and still stay within my 1200 calories, I will gain weight. I have a friend that was banded here in my home town and her doctor tells her not to eat over 800 calories a day. I was told that you will not loose if you do that, however her weight has fallen off of her! I am aware of my calories, protein, and type of food intake I eat. She does not watch anything, dont even think she knows what a protein shake taste like..lol I honestly think everyone is so different and where one person can eat whatever they want (like my friend) and others (like me) has to be very strict with the types of foods we eat and the calories we eat. I wish I could find that magic number, but no luck so far with that! Good Luck! Carrie
