Carrie
  4. Hi! Congrats on the 60 lbs lost, that is WONDERFUL! I honestly can say that I have always "thought' I was eating the right amount of caloriess and getting in the right amounts of protein. I was WRONG! I should have taken the advise that I was given a while back but I did not. I thought it would take to much of my time. Monday before last I started a Food Journal where I log my calories and proteins. For the past two weeks I will get anywhere between 1100 and 1200 calories a day, around 90 grams of protein and 60 oz of water in each day. I also am walking 3 miles every other day. Last week I lost 4 lbs and this week, since Monday morning, I have lost another 2 lbs.!!! That is 6 lbs in a week a half! I eat REALLY high PROTEIN foods and count every little thing that goes in my mouth. My snacks are HIGH PROTEIN snacks and I do not eat after 7. I do agree with Jazzy, stress is the devil. ...It is not good at all for your body! You have done so great already, I would really recommend you try this for at least one week and see how it works for you..... Good Luck! Carrie
  5. Robbyn, Congrats! I know and remember how exciting it was to book that Flight, I think I called everyone I knew and told them. I also remember Lisa telling me that my surgery date would get here before I knew it and WOW the 14th will be 6 months ago! Good Luck with everything! > Carrie
  6. Angie, That is too funny! I as well am guilty of the night and day weigh in. I will add one...... When someone says something and YOUR HUBBY looks at you and says you might be a bandster...lol
  7. Celia, Just wanted to say thanks and good luck on your fill tomorrow... Carrie
  8. Sabrina that is great, WOW you are so close. I weighed in this morning and I am at 211. I am normally on my "high" side on Mondays from the weekend but I was not this morning. I am pretty excited. I am really going to work hard this week and next week. I have 9 lbs to go before May 14th which is my 6 months, I wanted to be down 60 lbs. Keep us posted! Carrie
  9. Happy birthday Jazzy! I too hope you are having a wonderful day! Carrie
  10. That is awesome! Congrats.....The day I hit 199, I think everyone in Texas will hear me...lol Carrie
  11. Kim, Congrats!.. I know the feeling, this weekend I went to Old Navy to try on a 14 to see how far away I am from it and guess what, they were tight, bought them and I wore them out that night!!! I had to put my hand over my mouth so I did not give everyone in Old Navy heart failure! I was so EXCITED! I have not been a 14 since Junior/High School! Keep up the good work! Carrie
  12. Celia, I am eating every three hours. I drink my protien shake around 6:30 -7:00 and then have a snack at 9:30-10:00, Lunch around 12:30, snack round 3:30 then dinner before 7 each night. I do not eat ANYTHING in between, this makes it easy to remember and it allows me to eat every three hours to keep my metabolism going through the day. Im not sure if you have read a G2 bottle it has I think 140 calories per bottle, that is high for me because I was drinking 2-3 a day until I read the back of the bottle...I now drink nothing but water with cyrstal light and fat free skim milk with my shakes. I think protien is VERY important to cut hunger so I do eat ALOT of protien a day. As far as dinners at night, I bake or grill. Nothing breaded for fried. Tonight I did shrimp with bacon. The shrimp has very little calories and the bacon had 70 calories per two strips. I was able to eat 2 shrimp, which it took 1/2 strip per shrimp. So two ship and one peice of bacon. CHEWED CHEWED AND CHEWED, shrimp is kinda tough for me. I ate maybe 1/4 cup of Uncle Bins Whole grain rice with it. I just try to judge my best on calories. Hope this helps! Carrie
  13. Celia, I know what you mean, I have not been under 200 since my freshman year in high school, have always been a "fluffy" girl! I am tracking my calorie and protien intake. I am not going over 1200 a day and I am getting in about 85-90 grams of protien in a day and drinking 60oz of water a day as well. The protien intake has been very confusing to me. Some people say 60 grams a day and some say not over 130 grams a day. I think it all depends on how much you are working out a day. I think it all depends on the person. Like Jazzy told me, you have to experiment and see what works for you. That is one of the reasons I start the journel. Good Luck! Carrie
  14. Thank you Jazzy for the reply, you and others on this forum, I think of as our "forum moms". I knew I could count on you for an AWESOME reply! I have started tracking my calories, as I stated on another post this morning, I was shocked at the calories I was eating. I did not think I was anywhere near 1200 a day. I also started using sparkpeople after you told me about the sight. They have wonderful suggestions and GREAT food ideas. I have started a book of receips that I have printed from there websight. I have been walking 2 miles at least everyother day and I think hubby and I are about to up it to 2.5, maybe 3 miles at a time. The days in between we do weights and abs. I have started watching the fit channel as well, the cardio blast everymorning at 6 is AWESOME! Thank you again for your suggestions and comments, you are WONDERFUL! Carrie~
  15. Stormy! Thanks for the update, I have been waiting to see how it went. You will be kicking those girls butt in no time. You have a GREAT attitude toward them, you are now in control of your life, show them what you GOT! Keep up the good work and KEEP US POSTED! Carrie
  16. Kim, Good luck with your new fill, I hope that it get you under the 2 mark. Keep us posted and good luck! Carrie
  17. Hey Christy! Yes we are very close. I have been very frustrated with the 220's and under. I cant seem to get it off. I did however weigh this morning and I am now at 212.2. We WILL get there. Cindy, Sabrina and Angie, You guys are doing great as well. This is a very frustrating time for all of use. I think with this thread, it will give us the support we need to kick the 2's butt! We want so bad to be 199 and under and I think with our determination and with everyone on this board being so supportive of each other, we will do it in no time! I did start a food journel, very suprised at the calories that I was taking in... Mommaof2twins! That is such a CUTE picture! My sister has a set of twin girls that are 11. They are so much fun! Good luck with your journey as well! Carrie Carrie
  18. I would try to eat something very high in protien. I eat south beach diet bars, very high in protien, which help SO much with my hunger issues. I have also started drinking much more water, up my protien intake and take my 2 fiber bills each day at 9 am and 3 pm. (they help with the hunger issues) I started this week logging my food and you would be really suprised how many calories you eat in one day. I did not think I could possibly be eating anywhere close to 1200 a day, boy was I wrong! The 100 calorie snack packs, I honestly have tried to stay away from, they are sweet and most of them are not a good source of protien, therefore does not keep me full, almost like a slider food. Other snacks that I choose instead of the snack packs are almonds, cheese, peanut butter, very good source of protien. I hope this helps! Good Luck! Carrie
  19. Chisty that is a great idea, please count me in! Carrie
  20. Sabrina, Girl you are almost there.....Got my fingers, toes and legs crossed! I cant wait to hear that you are 199!!!! I weighed this morning and I am 213.1. For me, this has been my hardest, 215 and under. My goal this week, I am going to drink water water water, up my protien intake walk my two miles everyday and do weights in the mornings. Hope this does me some good!!! I will weigh again next Sunday to see where I am at! Keep up the good work! Carrie
  21. Stormy, U GO GIRL!!!!!!!!! That is so cool. This is one of the things that I want to do as well, I just have a LONG way to go and the Im not sure if I have it in me to do it or not. PLEASE let us know on how this goes. Would love to hear ALL about it. Carrie
  22. Robynn that was a GREAT Post and Cindy GREAT idea. I too have been "fighting" to get down to 199. OMGoodness Im not sure if I was this in High shcool, maybe evenn JR High. I am at 213 and have been stuck around 213-216 for about three weeks and it is SO frustrating! I have tried not to let it bother me and just keep doing what I am doing. This week I have started to up my water intake (this has always been an issue for me) and up my protein intake as well. I spoke to GNC and they gave me some good info on the protien issue. I am goning to try to increase this for one week and see how it goes. I have been afraid of getting "too much" protein, however they state unless it is over 150 grams a day not to worry bout it. This to me still seems very high, but I am going to give it a shot. I am not however going to take that much protein, but I am going to up it for a week. Maybe we all could agree upon a weigh in day to report back to this thread and post some ideas of things we did different from week to week. Good Luck everyone! Carrie
  23. I have a question to add.... I know that every one tries to exercise, but I do know that Dana and Jazzy have really been hitting it hard. I am just very curious, how many calories are you guys eating a day. Are you eating the 3 meals a day with no snacks or you snacking as well. I just cant seem to get my mind wrapped around the fact that you have to heat at least 1200 calories to loose the weight and if you are working out, this number should be much higher. Could you give us an example on an average "work out day" what you are doing, how many calories you are burning and how many calories you are eating. Also what are the calories you are eating....... Thanks Carrie
  24. Hey Dana, Hubby and I bought the P90X series from Beachbody $120.00. We seen advertisements for it on TV . Anyway it has a total of 15 DVDs and it is VERY intense. There is ALOT of it I cant do, HOWEVER I do what I can. I like the AB Ripper and Kenpo. It is a KICK BUTT workout and it works EVERY part of your body and some parts I did not even have a clue I had. Hubby has dropped 20 lbs in about a month a half with this and our new eating habits. He does not need to loose anymore, so now he is trying to tone and get his Muscles a little bigger. Its fun to have someone to TRY to keep up with. Good Luck Carrie
