Hi Debbie! I went yesterday and made all of my final decisions and now all I got to do is show up on Tuesdays...YIKES... I wanted to let you know that I did speak with My Doc yesterday in regards to this question. He stated that his would be more of a thigh lift, like Pammie stated. From MY research I think alot of Docs has different ways of doing Ext TT. It was my understanding that an Ext TT was that is involved going past your hips, as my doc stats, to cut further than your sides laying flat on the table. I am having an Ext TT but he is not going past my hips, because I dont have alot on my back side, kinda stops at my hips, but I have a major apron. What he is considering the Ext part of my suregery is that he is going to also cut from my belly button up to get my "top roll" above my belly button. I really dont want this scar, however I have a pretty good top roll and if he does not do this, it will leave kinda of a hump, hard to explain. I saw pictures of some of his patients who decided against this scar and you can tell a MAJOR difference between the ones who had it and the ones who did not. This in his opinion is only for people who have a larger "top" roll like myself. I took my before pics and he will take my after pics at three months and I will get them then. Good luck to you with your consult! Carrie

Good Morning Ladies! Well my scale finally moved but not for the good . I am up 1.8 pounds this week since my unfill. I knew I would gain some because I was not eating nothing. I do however feel so much better and have way more energy. I am going to really push the exercise the next week and half! Good luck to everyone! Carrie

I too Agree with Sabrina! I had an unfill last week, was very scared to do so, however it is just not worth it! I can finally eat without every little thing I stick in my mouth getting stuck. -

Thanks Pammie! I would have like to had about 15 more pounds off before doing this, but if I dont do it now, I would have to wait until October to take the two weeks off from work and I just dont want to wait! I have an apron and it is really hard to do exercise. I had a C-section 14 years ago and I have ALWAYS been a big YOYO dieter, so nothing has tightend up, no matter how hard I work with the exercise! This should allow me to really kick butt and get me to my goal! Thanks again Pammie! Carrie -

ok Miss Debbie! UPDATE! I did get a unfill today, was very tight. I am going to go back on March 4th for a complete unfill for surgery on the 9th. My fill Doc wants me to talk to my Surgeon on the 2nd about moving my port. My port is trying to go under my ribs right now and it is getting really hard for him to find it, he kind has to push it down. I can feel it at time when I am laying down, it will pop in and out from under my ribs, WEIRD feeling! He is wanting him to move it a little left of the middle of my tummy. I was just wondering if any one who has had a Tummy Tuck, did you have to have your port moved? Carrie -
Kristi! OMyGoodnesssssss! WOW you look AMAZING, you look HOT! Carrie ps Glad you liked the T Burgers!

Thanks Anne! I am really a gal that runs a tight band but down deep I knew I have been tight for a couple of weeks. Everything was getting stuck and it to me was just not worth it. My Doc does want me to come back on March 4th to get a complete unfill before I have my PS surgery on the 9th. I am really not wanting to do this, but I dont do well coming out, I really sick. sooooooo I am going to follow the Docs orders and do this! Maybe this will make me have some faith in myself and know that I can do this WITH my band and not JUST my band! Carrie

Hello Ladies! Well I am STILL at 181 and have been fighting with this fill. I am going in about 30 mins to have some fluid removed. I dont think I am eating enough and EVERYTHING I am putting in my mouth is getting stuck! Tired of fighting it. Good Luck to everyone on their weigh in today! Carrie

Angie! I finally got a chance to watch your video and I am SO SO proud of you. You did an AMAZING job. You gave me words of encouragment and I know you will do the same for people researching and wondering if this is the right thing for them to do! It takes courage to put it all out there and you did so GREAT! YOU showed all of us that you are such and STRONG, DETERMINED and BEA-U-TI-FUL lady! Thank you for making my day! Love ya Girl! Carrie -
Sabrina, I know that you LOVE LOVE reastriction and so do I, but I guess its so hard for me to find that place where I am ok. I feel like I am too tight or not tight enough and I really honestly think it is all in my head. If I eat a entire cup of food with maybe some veggies, I feel like WOW I ate alot. Now that everthing I put in my mouth is getting stuck, I think I am too tight... Can you give me a couple of days worth of examples of what you are eating...My foods are CRAZY! I can eat a 100 calorie back of almonds for a morning snack, but refried beans at lunch are a banana are "thick" and I have a hard time eating it and this is with the first bite or two.... I know everyone is different but I am ALWAYS curious about this subject.... Thanks! Carrie

Hi Robbyn!!!!! It is SO good to see you back around and I love the fact that you are "precommitt" your meals....I try to do this and the days that I dont, is when I seem to find my self lost as to what to do. I had my last fill under floro and it has been a very tight one. I am really thinking bout an unfill. I am getting stuck on just about everything but I always second guess myself in thinking maybe I just need to learn to "eat" with this fill, maybe the things I could eat before now I cant. The only things that really concerns me is my weight is not budging! uggghhh so again now I am back to wondering if I am eating enought...here we go again..lol Carrie

Angie! I AM SO PROUD OF YOU! I have not got to watch this yet but I know you will inspire so many. I have class tonight but as soon as I get home I am going to watch my girl!!!! Carrie -
Sabrina! I too still wonder this. It gets really frustating and I really tend to look at this when I am NOT loosing. This past fill had REALLY tightend on me, as I type this I am stuck on a cracker! I have NEVER had issues with crackers but this past week and half I am getting stuck on EVERYTHING, even my Fraps that I get from time to time are "thick" in the morning....BEFORE this fill I really could eat anything as well, except breads, broc and carrots (raw). NOW, I have to go REALLY slow and I am finding that the things I could eat before I have to stay away from now. I am eating about a cup of food and this too is soft foods. Hard protiens I am staying away from right now because I know I am so tight BUT before I could eat about 3 oz of meat and sometimes a cup of veggies, sometimes not. Sundays after church we go to I-HOP so it is more like lunch time and I can eat one scrambled egg very very soft, one peice of turkey bacon, crunchy and one baby harvest grain pancake. Then I am good and usually dont eat until Dinner time. This morning I ate a cup of Multi-Grain Cherios and was ok, lunch stuck on a cracker! I myself can not seem to find a happy medium with food, portion size or a fill! You would think as much as we DONT eat that we would be dropping like crazy! This is where I get and stay confused!

Good Morning Ladies! Well I STILL am not moving. I have had alot of issues with my band the last week and half, has been very tight and I seem to get stuck EVERYDAY now. I am considering getting an unfill, not sure. I really think this is why I am not moving, STILL at 181. Angie I am so proud of you! This is wonderful news, made my day! Sabrina, it is SO frustrating! Hang in there!

Stormy! I agree with Kristi and Shelby. Congrats on the 4 pounds! Since my last fill I have had really great restriction as well and like Shelby says you really adjust. My band this past week has REALLY tightened on me, and I have had to be REALLY careful with it. This morning I went to Starbuck and got a Frap and the first drink was VERY thick in my throat, kind just sat there. I have been able to eat a couple of bits of food and thats it. I have been drinking protien and eating ALOT of beans just to get my calories and protien in. The band is so different with every. The food that I might be able to eat might not as you know. I would just take it easy and chew really well. I would also try to eat really high protien foods, maybe even drink protien shakes in the monring to keep you full. If I feel a little hungry, I can grab a cup of coffee and it does the trick for me! Dr, Miranda told me that we should not be hungry in between meals. You might not be able to eat meat right now, stick to softer foods where you can eat more of to keep you full. Maybe you could talk with her. I think you are just fine and I think you just have a REALLY good fill that you are going to have to work with and find out what is going to work with it. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Mexican food, chips and dip is one thing I have had a really hard time giving up, but since this last fill, I barely can do them. THANK YOU JESUS!!!

Changing your image vs. accepting it
MyNewLife replied to SteveD's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
Steve! You did address issues that we do have with ourselves. I decided to do this for me AND my family. I have dieted ALL of my teenage and adult like, yoyo dieting which can be very harmful. I am 33 years old and the only regret that I have in getting the band a year and 3 months ago is that I did not do it 10 years ago! I have currently lost 83 pounds. I will be honest, I have NEVER been a thin person so this is the first time that I can EVER honstly remember wearing a size 10 in jeans. I honestly thought I would "feel" in my mind skinny, I dont know why but I did. I still "feel" in my mind the same as I did 83 pounds ago. I know that I am smaller and that I have lost weight and yes I can see it, but I just see smaller version of the overweight me, does that make since? I dont take compliments well, expecially fromthe ones that I am closet too, I guess I think they are just being nice, so very weird. Im grateful but I just need to learn to accept in a better way. My husband has always told me that I was beautiful and loves me just the same. I would really like to become more of the "sexy" wife and not be so dang insecure and just let loose but I still find myself hiding. I think that we all would love to change something about ourselves and I think for myself if I would just accept what I have that I would be more confident with myself, hmm not sure. I think I will ALWAYS have the "fluffy girl" mind and always struggle with these issues. Maybe in time these issues will change. I think this will be a great decision for you. You seemed to have given a true shot and sometimes we all just need help. This is FAR from an easy Road! It has been one of the HARDEST things that I have ever went through. You will get so frustrated and so angry with the scales but everyone told me to just keep on keeping on and trust me, it does work. If you work with this tool, it will work!!! I think once you get this weight off, your body will physically be able to workout and exercise will be easier for you to do! I will say I am at my most healthiest points in my life than I have ever been. I exercise, I eat healthy, I am happier, which in turn has made my marriage and my family life alot better. You really have to learn to love yourself, I was always wanting someone else (my husband) to make me happy. That took me a long time to figure out, If I dont love myself, how can I let someone else in to love me? Good Luck to you! Carrie -
Thanks Kristi and see you did it! You are going to look AMAZING! I LOVE LOVE LOVE turkey burgers. I make them at home ALL the time, they are one of my Fams favorits and very easy....This is how I do mine..... I use about 2-3lbs of Jennie O ground Turkey 1 pack of dry onion mix and about a 1/4 of diced fresh onion 1-2 eggs A1 or Wicheshiour Sause ( however you spell it ) I dont measure it, but I would say at least 3-4 tablespoons maybe more Sprinkle with Sea Salt and Pepper on top of patties. I use a Griddle at home to make them on and they come out REALLY good! I then put wheat buns on the grill for Hubby and the boys. Put a slice of cheese on it with Veggies and they LOVE them!
