Hope your surgery is a breeze and the band gives you the help you've been looking for! Sabrina:)

After nine months, I can eat ONE piece of pizza, I haven't tried to eat cake and I can't eat french fries, which is probably what I miss the most....and probably one of the biggest reasons I gained so much weight- love my fries!

If you're in SoCal I'd just go to OCC. It's at least $100 everywhere else and most places don't offer fluoro. As far as how may you will need, I have had to pay for eight fills and unfills in nine months...never could get to a fill level of "that's just right" until now! It's cost me over $1000 but can be claimed on my taxes. Sabrina:)

Splurging the night before surgery

.....and to answer your original question; I ate pretty bad the night before surgery. I wasn't intending to but my anxiety got the best of me and I blew it! Sabrina:) -
Splurging the night before surgery
ValleyGirl replied to magkai1's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
Some people can eat whatever they want and as much as they want- but I can't. I can't eat bread, pasta, rice and most meats. I also can't over-eat or it will come back up. If I could, I would....which is why I have this band! It limits my food consumption whether I like it or not, lol! -
B- Coffee with fat-free french vanilla creamer then half cup of Olympic Probiotic lemon yogurt, mmmmmmmmmm! L- one cup low fat bean and bacon soup and half my kids Mcdonalds hashbrown which started to get stuck (good thing) D-one cup of Thai chicken stir-fry without the noodles (chicken breast, red and yellow peppers, onions, pea pods, carrots, brocoli) Treat- skinny cow dipper Three bottles of water and no exercise this week..............huge freelance project................ahhhhh!

I want a scale like that too! I'm at 180 again this morning.....I feel like I will NEVER see the 170's I wanted to be 175 by the end of summer and at goal (160) by my bday October 25th but then I had the dreaded unfill. Any idea how I can lose 20 pounds in a month???? Kidding. I've adjusted the goal and hope to (WILL) be there by Christmas!!! Sabrina:)

Remember, slow and steady wins the race! Never give up...and keep posting `cause your posts always crack me up! Sabrina:)

Funny you guys should mention this. I've always dated really tall guys `cause it made me feel smaller! I actually broke off an engagement with a really great guy years ago `cause I couldn't get over the fact that I was bigger (taller and fatter) than him. He treated me like a queen but it was a huge hang up for me. I was too young to get married anyway. Now get THIS...I didn't see him for years but now we live in the same area and our boys are just starting Beavers together. My husband signed up to be a leader...guess who the other leader is??? Yep, my husband and ex-fiance are the leaders of the group!!! Sabrina:)

Weeknds are hard for me `cause I get up for work at 3am and then don't go to bed until about ten, making my waking hours longer than normal (up for 19 hours straight) and my eating times more frequent and out of whack! I usually try to put off breakfast for a few hours but I was light-headed this morning and made myself eat at 4 which is why I'm having lunch now at 8am, lol!!! B- (4am) coffee with fat-free fench vanilla creamer and a small pear ( i can even eat the skin with this small fill!) 110 cals/ 0 fat/2g protein L- (8am) Tim Hortons potato soup and a crusty dinner roll (I musn't be very restricted if I can not only eat in the morning, but I can eat BREAD!). 360 cals/13 grams fat/10 grams protein S- (10:30) V-8 drink 30 cals/0 fat/1 protein D- half can of sockeye salmon with teaspoon mayo, salt and pepper 190 cals/ 10 grams fat/21 grams protein (didn't have room for veggies I prepared...will try to eat later) Daily total.....690 cals/23 grams fat/34 grams protein ****Note- Tim Hortons is the Canadian version of Dunkin Donuts and they send us a box of donuts every Sat/Sun of which I NEVER touch!******** I really like writing my choices down and am going to try to look up nutrition info on everything BEFORE it goes in my mouth. Aiming for 1000 calories per day, max 30 grams of fat, and 50 grams protein. I'm not sure I can LOSE weight on 1000 cals (800 is usually my magic number) but I'm upping it because I am working out now. Sabrina:)

Post-Operative diet and care for Lap Band Surgery
ValleyGirl replied to Alice's topic in Diet and Nutrition
I struggle with snacking because it is THERE and not because I'm actually hungry. I could easily feel satisfied on three meals per day (about 4 hours apart) but I indulge now and then. If I didn't, weight-loss would be faster I am sure! Sabrina:) -
Post-Operative diet and care for Lap Band Surgery

You can DRINK as much as you want at this point, sips not chugging! Sabrina:) -
The good news is....there are SO many more places to shop now that you're out of plus sizes. The BAD news is there are so many more palces to shop now that you're out of plus-sizes, lol! I'm wearing out my credit card....and enjoying every minute of it! Sabrina:) ps- I still feel strange in skirts too....like I'm too fat for them, but really my legs are probably the skinniest part of me. I guess we need to keep practicing and we'll get our confidence up.

biggest pregnant person you've ever seen????
ValleyGirl replied to ValleyGirl's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
Thanks Pammie! I'm lucky that I've always carried my weight pretty well. Nobody believes me when I tell them my weight even now....I'm pretty proportioned and my skin is bouncing back well everywhere except the tummy- which isn't THAT bad considering how stretched out it got during that last pregnancy. Could have been a lot worse. I still can't believe how BIG I am here....looks like there's a pre-schooler in there- the female body is so amazing! Sabrina:) -
HELP! 7 mnths post-op port pain?
ValleyGirl replied to CJen's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
I get the pain too. I have no diagnosis, just wanted to say you're not the only one. Sorry I'm not more help. Sabrina:) -
Just found this photo and although it is embarassing to post, it makes me proud too because if I include what I weighed at the end of this pregnancy, I have actually lost 120 pounds....not 70-something....which is the weight I've now lost after losing almost 50 pregnancy pounds a couple years ago without a band and now more than 70 with the band. I started the pregnancy at 239 and ended up almost 300 pounds! This pic is still a few weeks away from my due date, ahhhhh!!!!! He weighed 11 pounds, 1 ounce if you are wondering! Yes, it was natural and YES I need a tummy-tuck! Sabrina:)

Enjoy the day....and the extra day off!!!! Well-deserved. Sabrina:)

ValleyGirl replied to ValleyGirl's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
Just checking in to report that my nine-pounds is gone!!! It took three weeks to gain nine during my unfill, and exactly two weeks to lose it after I was refilled . Hooray! Back to where I was five weeks ago....phew. Now I'm staring straight in to the face of the 170's!!!! Sabrina:) -
Vancouver- area bandsters
ValleyGirl replied to ValleyGirl's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
Vancouver, BC. Sorry. I always forget there is two! Sabrina:) -
While we are confessing, I need to come clean about my "closet smoking". I've been sneaking a few smokes on the way to/from work every weekend for about two years and it has to stop- especially now that I'm exercising again. Years ago (before kids) I smoked a pack a day but now a pack lasts me a month. Still, even one is too many. I know this. I kept telling myself I would cut it out completely once I was at my goal weight but I'm going to have to stop before then because my mom is taking me and my sisters to Hawaii October 5th and she would kill me if she thought I was smoking again! So, I'm declaring Sunday, October 4th my smoke-free fresh-start. It scares me to not have ANY vices left (no more anti-depressents, no drinking, no smoking, no junk food) but I know you're all here for support! Sabrina:)

Please keep in touch Nicole!!! Sabrina:)

You Rock Carrie!!! Three pounds in two weeks is great....and you've been losing CONSISTENTLY since day one.....much healthier than the boucing up and down I keep doing. Keep at it and you'll weigh less than your boys before you know it, lol! Sabrina:)
-
Yeah, I've done this and it's really good!!! Sabrina:)

I figured that's what you meant! And I make my soup different every time depending on veggies I have on hand.... I don't know if it's the exact same as the Weight Watchers Veggie soup recipe that used to come in the points book, but that's where it came from originally and since I lost the recipe, I just do this.... -sautee 1 cup chopped onions, carrots, and celery in Pam cooking spray -add one can tomato paste and six cups of water mixed with low fat chicken, beef or tomato stock , then bring to boil -add any veggies you have (I like green beans, corn, and cubed sweet potato or turnip) then lower heat and simmer for 30 minutes My sister is a wonderful cook and adds all kinds of herbs to hers but I just do salt, pepper, and oregano and it's simple but very good! Sabrina:)
