  1. Your body is just adjusting. You will go through this, and you are not actually gaining based on your daily calorie intake. Don't stress, if you gain and loose during this time it is normal and you should even expect it. Its going to be like this for a while so just stay off the scale for a while if you can and let your body settle in to its new routine! (Another thing to watch out for, often we'll eat extra salt and no realize it and retain water for a short time. Look at the foods you ate, did any have extra salt)? Our bodies really start being affected more, notice how alcohol hits you harder, so do things like salt and other chemicals that make us retain water. That's one of the reasons that I started getting more into healthy eating and cooking all of my own foods, I could really feel the affects of high salt and additives to my food. Take care! Lisa
  2. I’m so sorry! It’s the worst thing to deal with and unfortunately you're going to have to learn to manage it. (I did – it was really causing trouble for me) Here's what I would do during strees times. Before you eat take time to yourself and breath - in your nose....deep and cleansing and out your mouth. Think good thoughts. Don’t drink anything cold before you try to eat, warm herb tea is nice. Also focus on comforting food. For some reason my favorite is my French onion soup that I make. I take a half of an onion sautéed in butter till soft, then add a touch of flour, tsp or two. Add in some beef broth (1/2 box), port (splash), sugar salt and pepper to taste and fresh Basel leaves to taste (2). Some times if I’m trying to add calories if needed I’ll add cream. No bread or cheese on top – if you can only drink the broth, then go for it. It seems to relax me and gets some protein in my body. And for some reason its really comforting to me. After eating some I will then try some solids, just little bits and really take time to chew and see how it feels. Its all about making us feel relaxed – getting stressed can cause such havoc with our bands. Take care and I really hope what ever is causing the stress and go away for you! Best, Lisa
  3. Hello Cathy, Glad to hear you’re doing well, I knew you would! Everything is well - its getting sunny here and I tend to be more active these days. And I like to go out more than I use too since I've lost all of my weight! (I'm also running in a marathon next weekend and I need to get ready) I was like you, I didn't want surgery on my arms and legs. (the scars are hard to hide) I've been working out with weights so pretty much my arms look fine, unless I'm doing the queen wave so I try not to do that. I lift weights with my legs and I am taking to my PS about a leg tuck which is less evasive. Its just hard, I put on my bathing suit and love the look except for my legs now. But I gave myself 6 months to really work on them – if they don’t pull it together I will look at options. Best, Lisa
  4. That's something I dealt with as well, for me I found that if I didn't get enough protein I would get hungry before my next meal. So I did try to add that extra protein in somewhere during the day. Its a hard balance.
  5. OK, I had to move this up - Pammie just had a little bit more plastic surgery "done" and that girl is hot!! http://www.kodakgallery.com/Slideshow.jsp?...s0tysj&Ux=0 Quick add in - willT no lookE...
  6. Many of us have, there’s a plastic surgery area at the bottom of the forum. Pammie has pictures to her surgeries. I've had an extended tummy tuck (what they call a body lift in Cosmo) and a breast lift, some lippo and as we loose weight our face can start looking wrinkly. I’ve had a series of chemical peels, Juvederm and Botox in my forehead only. My body looks better then when I was 16. Its pretty darn amaizing. But go to the other area then pull by date and you'll find lots of discussions. Best, Lisa Here's the link: http://www.lapbandforum.com/index.php?showforum=7
  7. Do you think there could anything else you might be "drinking" that could add a few extra calories on and slow your weight loss down? Anything at all? Hmmmmm...
  8. Thanks LoriBecky, This sounds very fair. Quick question - I'd like to have an endoscopy at 2 years. And from the costs that I’ve been hearing $250 is a great price. Is this done at OCC or do you recommend another clinic to have this done? Best, Lisa
  9. Its suppose to be sunny and my husband is going to have a long weekend of work. I'm pulling out the hammock and lying out in the sun in my bathing suit. I've lived here since 2003 and have never laid out in my yard to tan in my suit. I'll be strutting as I walk to my hammock!! (All 12 feet, and just as an FYI no one can see me, but me... so its OK if I strut). If I get really daring, I might even lay on my stomach and tan the backside....
  10. I'm not from SD, however there are some great old postings that can help - here's one: http://www.lapbandforum.com/index.php?show...&hl=trolley Also if you go to the bottom of the form there's a search box - just search for something relevant and it should bring up a few postings to help. Best, Lisa
  11. What a great new name and you are doing incredible! You’ve been such a great support person on this board, I will miss your old name coming up – I always read your posts! Congrats and keep it up! Lisa
  12. First of congrats on your success! And I'm sorry to hear about your pain. Any chance you are experiencing this around that “time” of the month. My bands get tighter and my cramps are worse and I believe I have worse cramps because I've lost weight and now have stomach muscles from working out and I know my band gets tighter since I retain so much water weight. And I think your acid reflux is due to too tight of a band - I just reached my weight goal and I'm going in to have an "unfill" since I'm now going into maintenance mode. Since you've reached your goal you might want to do what I just did, I scheduled a session where they will look at my pouch size, my band position and work to remove enough from my band so I can eat comfortable without weight gain. (Its more of less a band check up) Best, Lisa
  13. Wow, there's no way I could eat that much protein after 2 fills, or now - it just wouldn't fit in my pouch. If you cut up the dogs, added in the salad and put it in a measuring cup I wonder how much it would be.
  14. Why wouldn't it, carbonation can slip my band - alcohol cannot. However you have a point in regards to those liquid calories that we are all warned to watch out for. I just make sure to add in my glass of red wine to my calorie count and purely drink it for the antioxidant content.
  15. I absolutely love your third fill "holy shit" totally remember that!!
  16. OK, this is just my take - I'd stay until the 7th and go shopping in Marysville. (If you go there let me know and I’ll join you) The reason, yes you can drink, but as you know from all of the conversations about alcohol - we become light weights after this surgery. And you're going to want a little bit of food in you so you can drink enough to have fun, without getting sloshed! (Plus when everyone is eating and having fun, you want to join them even if we can only eat a little bit) You get to decide, that’s just my take! Either way, have fun! Lisa
  17. I mainly count now to make sure I get enough - my only downfall is if I drink too many liquid calories. Those I have to watch. But I did keep track of my food to watch my protein intake along with coming to terms and understanding my eating habits and why I had them in the first place. Most of the girls are going to spark people and have an OCC group set up.
  18. I'd wait till solids, I like a little wine with my dinner too, but make sure to watch the calories! (Purely for the antioxidants)
  19. Yeah - good for you cedar - we're so proud!! (NOT) May your wife vacuum during the next college game....and turn the blender on at the most inappropriate time.
  20. Congrats - sounds like its working just like its suppose too!
  21. You are so cool! Congrats on your success! I'm glad it went well - I found it fun to organize my food when I first started eating! (The pains are normal and I still get them today) I'll be out in Halifax for the Dragon boat races and hope to see you! Best, Lisa
  22. So I have to add a disclaimer to mine – Manda, I did have a TT tuck and a breast lift – which I’m sure brought my sizes down a bit and helped. Once you do all the work to loose the weight, I was not going to settle…… And Dawnie – I know a good surgeon – I’m sure he could make your ankle’s bigger, if be can give me a perfect waist and perky boobs; he can give you thick ankles!
  23. My goal was a size 10, that came and went - I'm now a 4/6 and trying to stop from getting any smaller!! I never thought that I could be this size –when I started I was a 22 or 3X. You’ll most likely loose more than your goal – most people I know have. (When you start at a 22 its hard to imagine getting to a 10), when you get to a 10, you can quickly without much effort move to a 6! And then what’s really interesting is how exercise - which is much more fun when you’re smaller - really starts affecting your body.
  24. Dianna, You are doing great - and look at your beautiful family! I wish I'd done this when my boys were younger so I would have had more energy to play with them and keep up! Perfect timing - you're going to succeed and even beat your goal I bet - you're doing awesome! Best, Lisa
