  1. Robbyn, I am so excited for you! Hope to hear how everything went soon
  2. Thanks for that info. I just assumed an unfill was also $100. Good to know.
  3. I had surgery 2 months ago and it was $7300 with 3 nights hotel stay (I believe). I only stayed one night and went home the same day as surgery. The fills cost $100.
  4. When I asked Dr. Miranda how many calories I needed each day she said calorie counting was not necessary. She told me to measure my foods and to just make sure I was eating 1/3 of what I used to eat. To tell you the truth, I probably average less than 700 calories everyday because I feel restriction with my first fill.
  5. Whew thanks for all the tips. That makes me feel so much better. I was actually able to eat 2 chicken tenders and a little stalk of broccoli for dinner so I am glad I was able to eat haha.
  6. Do many of you still drink protein shakes on a daily basis even though they are not considered solids? I am having problems getting in enough calories and protein. I eat about 500 calories and 40-50g of protein a day.
  7. I can eat breakfast in the morning but the rest of the day has been so hard. I just made a 4oz can of tuna with some mayo and couldn't even eat half. I get full so quick. I don't know if this is normal or if it is a problem. I have no problem with water but at the end of the day I get real bloated and gassy and burp A LOT lol.
  8. Hi All. I had my first fill on Saturday and yesterday was my first day on solids. I did NOT have an appetite yesterday. I ate an omelette (1 egg and fat free milk) with tomato, onion and cheese for breakfast and a string cheese around 3pm and a few bites of a quesadilla for dinner. I couldn't even eat 1 wedge of the 5 wedges when cut up. I did however drink about 80 oz. of water with crystal light. I am confused because I am just not hungry and when I did eat I got full VERY fast. Can anyone explain to me the difference of being too tight and restriction? I am not PBing on water, but am sliming a little. I am getting gas and am burping a lot after drinking 80 oz. Thanks for your help
  9. Good luck! I was on a month long plateau until I got my first fill on Saturday and dropped 6lbs. Today is my first day eating and I have absolutely no appetite. I don't know if this is normal or not, but it is nearly dinner time and I only ate a 1 egg omelette for breakfast.
  10. I am scheduled for my first fill on Saturday. Has anyone heard any updates on travel to Mexico?
  11. Yay let us know how it goes. You will do great!!!
  12. I heard you should take Papaya Enzyme when this happens? Does anyone do so?
  13. Great post. The only exercise I have done is the treadmill and that is not as often as I should. I really want to be able to work myself up to running. I have never been able to run and feel good. I was a dancer growing up so things such as hip hop class jazz me up. I am also one of those who enjoys to do workout videos...even Richard Simmons haha. Hey, it is fun! lol
  14. You and me both. I LOVE spicy foods. We will see how long that lasts lol. I think I have learned the difference between physical hunger and hunger in my head. I have not yet scheduled my first fill and do not know when I should. I must say today was fun starting to eat again. I went to my favorite restaurant and barely ate a thing. I am very proud of myself and think I am doing great so far. I did however take too big of a bite of my dinner and felt it got stuck. I then went to the bathroom and made myself throw up. I don't know how good that was for me, but I felt so much better after.
  15. Today is my last day on my post op liquid diet and I start on solids tomorrow. I am very nervous but excited to be able to eat again. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions as to how to start out? Right now, I am not even hungry. Will this change once I eat solids? I am a little curious if this happens. If I do not get hungry after solids should I still get a fill after 6 to weeks?
  16. Thank you for this post. I am 3 weeks out of surgery and start on solids tomorrow. I am very nervous to start eating again but you have helped me realize that I can do this. Thanks for the encouragement and congratulations with your weight loss!!!
  17. I had a tummy tuck a few years ago and I do have not regretted it for one second. You are going to feel amazing!!! Just remember it will be painful and you will have to walk hunched over for about a week. After the first week you start to feel a lot better. I had to have someone help me out of bed because of the pain so just make sure you have someone to help you that first week. Good luck!!!
  18. I am 2 and a half weeks out of surgery and can sleep on my stomach. I was afraid to at first but once I tried it I was happy. I am also one of those who has not had any pain though. We all heal differently.
  19. I was told by Dr. Miranda that I should shoot for 1000-1200 calories per day. Does anyone know how many grams of carbs, protein and fats we should aim for?
  20. This helps me out so incredibly much! I too can drink a lot of water. Being that my last diet was Nutrisystem I had to have 8 glasses of water a day and can finish that in a few hours. I of course love Crystal Light which I have tons of different choices. I thank you for posting the different serving sizes that you suggest. That helps tremendously! Do most of you eat veggies and fruits at each meal or just protein, veggies or fruit and carbs? I am so ready to start eating but at the same time I am so afraid. I know the only way I will learn is by experiencing this all for myself. I know I have to buy some Papaya Enzymes and then I am on my way to solids in 10 days
  21. Thanks everyone. I have 10 days to go with the liquid diet. I must say that I am doing soooo well. I haven't had any pain, cravings or trouble being around all of the food I love. I have been to BBQ's and gone out to my favorite restaurants with friends and have just sipped on my water. I am just worried about what to do when I start solids. Do I start measuring my food then? I don't even know how much of everything I am supposed to have. I just know I am supposed to have 3 oz. of protein along with the veggies, fruit and carbs but I have no clue how much I should measure them out to be. I know a lot of people say they can eat as much as they did before surgery but I am not even that hungry. I started my Pre Op Diet early and did a liquid diet one week before surgery so my body is used to this. I haven't felt weak or anything. I am excited to start solids I am just concerned about how slowly to eat and how much food I should intake. I know I heard you should not go in for your fill unless you can eat a lot of food. What if I train myself to only eat 1/3 of the food I used to eat? Do I not need a fill? I am so confused haha.
  22. You are beautiful in both your before and current pics!

  23. I went with my mom because I was nervous of going alone. Honestly, if you use the shuttle service they pick you up at the airport or the border and drive you to your hotel. By the way, they drove very well and not like a lot of other drivers down there. He will drop you off at your hotel and they will pick you up in the morning to go to the hospital. You really don't have to go anywhere alone if you don't want to. They will bring you back to the border or airport when needed. My mom and I were together the entire time and I felt very comfortable. I wouldn't recommend going shopping on your own though. I didn't do it, but I wouldn't suggest it. Overall, you are only alone at night when sleeping in your hotel and during the day when recovering.
