  1. I don't use the "Green+", but I use their other products, such as the protein powder. GREAT product.
  2. You won't need to do much to the protein from true protein, as you can get it sweetened, and they have a million flavours to pick from. (i like the vanilla the best, as you can do whatever you want with that base ... ie. add peanut butter & cocoa, make it a fruit smoothie by adding a few frozen strawberries, ect) Greens+ is a different product -- What exactly are you looking for? A nutrient supplement, or specifically a protein supplement? As I mentioned before ... remember you're really eating for fuel now. Not so much taste, so really consider what you're putting in your system rather than the taste of it I'm not sure if Greens+ is avail at either of those places in Canada, as I haven't stepped foot in either in a long time! But I know it's avail readily in BC!
  3. I'm a HUGE emotional eater. I ended up investing in good ol' talk therapy .. while the band will physically make it difficult to eat 'more', it's definitely easy to cheat. The band is only a tool. Take care of your psychological issues before and/or during, as they won't go away for the most of us. While they can be muted, these learned habits we have will always be will us.
  4. I believe it only comes in a powder form, but here's a good trick. Add 1 c. Almond Milk (for a bit of a 'creamy' texture, without the calories of dairy) 1/2c frozen strawberries 1/4c frozen banana's .. and then your scoop of powder. Blend in a mixer (I use a single shot Magic Bullet) with 2 ice cubes and a smidgen of Splenda. And I promise you, you'll LOVE it! I'm not crazy about the nutrient breakdown of GNC labeled products. I'd personally stay away from them. I find that store in general, to be ridiculously overpriced, and the brands they generally carry aren't very good ... I believe Costco, and Walmart would carry the Greens+ product line .. maybe even your pharmacy would. I'm not that familiar with the stores in the US, as I'm in Canada. Right now, I'm using the Genuine Health line of products (same as the Greens+) -- I don't particularly enjoy the taste/texture of this protein, but it has a really good amount of everything I need -- It's called Proteins+ Here's the company website: http://www.genuinehealth.com/ I'm sure you could email them, and get a list of stores that carry it near you. As another option, I would highly recommend this line of protein powder. It's the best, IMHO. http://www.trueprotein.com/ It really does depend on what you're looking for. But I hope this helps!
  5. To be perfectly honest, none of them taste awesome. They're the sort of thing you get used to ... think about the nutritional value, rather than the taste. That usually curbs the gag that i might get on a more gritty brand. You could also try adding a tsp of all natural peanut butter in with it, along with a quarter of a banana. That often cuts any really terrible taste.
  6. Definitely increase your protein & add at LEAST 90g of healthy fats per serving ... even if it means putting a tsp of coconut oil in with your shakes. That will help with your energy levels.
  7. LOVE IT. So unbelievably proud of you.
  8. The runny nose is caused from an increase of blood flow. It's from the Vagus nerve .. Some experience sneezing or hiccups if they eat a bite too much. Both are actions inextricably bound to Vagus nerve signals. Many people get a "runny nose" with one bite too many.
  9. My nose, too, starts too run, when I've pushed it ...
  10. Why not be the first plication success story in the forum, LadyInRed! It looks like that roll is waiting to be filled!
  11. Honestly everyone ......... there is chance of complications during any surgery. You get the same 'oh my god' to any of these procedures, including when I got my lapband. The more I researched 'complications' the more I freaked myself out. I was lucky, and I've had zero issues (knock on wood), but I wouldn't panic. You can find these scary stories about anything, esp with such easy access to the inter-web!
  12. Fat loss vs weight loss. Your body fat is droping, but you're maintaining (or gaining) lean muscle mass, which is what one wants for optimum fat loss.
  13. I too, would be interested in the long-term results. Not the 'success' you've had on the pre-op 'diet', or the first 4-5 months, but AFTER that ... After a year. That's when things seem to change from the feedback I've heard.
  14. I could be gas, but why even guess I've had no complications with my band, and it's completely changed my life. I think I'm one of the lucky ones, though. Everyday I think about how lucky I am I've had no issues with the band. There is room for error in all of these procedures, in terms of not eating properly, not exercising, etc .. and then, having your body reject whatever it is that's being done -something you have NO control over.
  15. I'm no medical expert, but that sounds very serious. Please go see a doctor ASAP!
  16. exhausted today. zzz ....

  17. Yep. I drink/use the Greens+ http://www.genuinehealth.com/the-essentials/greens.html They're available at all health food stores.
  18. There is a list of foods you'll be introduced to slowly, after your lapband surgery. Please review it carefully. As for after the liquid, and mush phase, I eat all of the foods you listed. Minus popcorn (no real nutritional value). I don't eat bread of any kind, as it's very uncomfortable.
  19. I have the lapband, and my port rubs against my ribs on a very regular basis. There are specific movements I feel discomfort with, because of the rubbing.

  21. the OCC recently started doing plication. I think about 6 months ago-ish? You won't find any long termers in this forum, performed by the OCC>
