  1. I can eat steak especially if it is tender. I've gotten away from it becuase of my husbands preferences. He is not a pork or red meat eater per say. I will say that if the meat is tough, I don't even go there.......to much chewing....
  2. I walked over my lunch break. I love this weather and got in a good mile and more. my ped said 3400ish steps so wee!
  3. yesterday walked 4453 steps. So about 2 miles. One was over my lunch hour. Wee! I LOVE SPRING!
  4. great accomidation, loved your approach!

  5. This forum doesn't hold a candle to some of the siggys I have seen......really I don't see the big deal. Unless the forum police crack down, I plan to leave my siggy the way it is.
  6. Oh Amy you know I am all about the "little" things! Congrats! Woo hoo! I love it. Life gets better and better!
  7. Oh I hear ya. I buy the frozen veggies and mixed berries from Costco. I love there frozen grilled chicken that is cut into strips....easy and good! I do a veggie chicken stir fry with them. Oh I also buy the 2 lb bag of frozen scallops from there too... I heart Costco! Ha!
  8. Hello to all of my favorite people! I am chillin eating my yummo lunch and was mulling over how much my food choices have changed. In our house we eat a good variety of foods. Some that have been much more prevalent than ever. Take turkey. I use to have it on the tipical day THANKSGIVING. Now, we have it as a staple in our house. It has replaced hamburger completely. I think in the beginning, it was a nice change of pace from beef....then it grew into taste preferance, easier to eat, and lower calorie choice. We have a lot more fish. Scallops, talapia, mahi mahi, shrimp. My family ate fish before, but not like we do now. For me fish is good protein, low fat and easy to eat. Most of my food choices now are altered to fit my lapband lifestyle. For expample before I would steam veggies not to the point of them being limp. Now, I cook them to the limp stage. Easier for me to eat. My husband love this because that is how he like them anyway. I use more sauces now too. We use to grab a quicky fast food meal like once a week. Now, hubby will call and ask and I decline. I may have a few of his french fries.... like 6. THAT IS IT! I find it easier and better to stick with my fish, chicken or what not. Easier and more taste satisfying..... One of my favorite snacks is Oikos chocolate greek yogurt with milled flaxseed on top. Those are a few examples of band lifestyle changes..... Do you have any to share.... What has changed for you?
  9. Hey Ashley! I am so excited for you! My thoughts are with you today! ((HUGS))

  10. I went for a short walk over my lunch hour yesterday and mowed the lawn! Feels good to be able to mow again. Last year I was unable to. Wee I love my band!!!!!
  11. Maybe you can change your options to not show siggys....that way it won't slow the load time.
  12. Sounds like you are well on your way!
  13. I suppose you can. I would think it would be caused from being at a good level of restriction and drinking a good size volumn to stretch your pouch. Everyone is so different with fills....I know it is hard not to compair yourselves, but try not to.
  14. Well I be damned I did! Ha! Or I gained a ton of weight in a week! I am 229.8. That sure does sound a lot better! Thanks for pointing out my error!
  15. Hi Toby-sorry to hear of your problems. I understand the Dr, Ortiz says removal is his option, but there is a surgeon I found that fixes band slips. I have some of his videos on my you tube page under the lab band video folder. He videop taped himself repairing a slipped band. I really believe he is good at his job like ortiz is. Check it out. Angie
  16. Sounds to me like you may want to chew chew chew a bit more. AND....you may have restriction from the get go, which is more of a learning curve. For me, eating was easy breeze. I had no heavy, or stuck feelings. Did have those issues till a few fills down the line. If it is true that you have restriction now, you will need to slow down. I realize I will be repeating myself, but CHEW CHEW CHEW your food. For me, each fill was a learning curve. With each fill I learned to chew better and better....you may not have the time I had with the learning curve and may need to master the chewing art early on. Even when you think you have chewed your food great, you may be surpised to see that is not so. I suggest you do something icky. Take a bit of something and chew it up as well as you would before swallowing. Instead of swallowing spit it out and give it a look over. See if there are chunks left from chewing....if there are....you will know you need to kick it up knotch. HTH, Angie
  17. IMHO if you are eating and drinking okay, your band is pry ok. The reflux could be being caused by your band though....When you went to the Dr. did you see the Dr who cares for you and your band? What triggered your reflux.....did you have a bad PB or stuck episode with made your band swell by chance? I've not been around for 1 year and to date have not heard of anyone slipping their band in the manor you are speaking of.....not saying it is not possible.....just I have not heard of it. Maybe a pulled muscle around the port...really I don't know. If you are in pain and concerned I would consult the Dr who sees you for the lapband after care. As always you can call the OCC and talk to one of the Dr.s there. There is one on call 24-7. I'd call and talk to someone there...
  18. Hmm I have no issues with bread. I am also at my sweet spot. The only food that has not liked my band is re-heated shrimp...not band friendly for me.
  19. Are you able to eat or drink okay? Having any reflux issues?
  20. Yes to the celery, no to the carrots. At least when I was banded it was anything green was a go. Also no calorie of FF dressings.
  21. Soo happy for you! Hope you have a speedy recovery! Please let us know how it goes!
  22. LOL mooo! I had to loose 15. It is do-able. Won't say it didn't suck...cuz it did...big time...but you can do it.
