1. I'd say if you are able to access your port, and are that freaked, don't do it. If it were me, I would pry do the port revision. But I would want my port secured. Really I think it is up to you. Ask your Dr. what they think.
2. Oh yeah, I totally remember the mega hairloss. Hubby had to snake the shower twice. I couldn't believe the amount of hair.....I was sooo thankful when it stopped! Now, I have normal range hair molting.... Our bodies adjust!
3. Well....I am counting down the days until my fill....which is on Friday. Seems I've been waiting for a long darn time. Some blessings that came from being unfilled. A. It is easier to vomit with no restriction. Had the flu and found gratitude in a mistaken unfill! B. It gave me good perspective on what it is like to not have restriction. So interesting to me how quickly we adapt to restriction. I "treated" myself to an egg mcmuffin this morning. It was nice to eat bread, meat, and egg for breakfast. C. Let me know that I don't have to have restriction to maintain my weight. I sure am looking forward to a fill though. Feels weird not to have the guidance system of my band. I have been watching my portions and not going crazy....well I have had a few splurges....like said mcmuffin...
4. 48 hrs wouldn't be a bad idea. If you want to test the waters, I would do 24 for sure and then soft proteins to see how the swelling is. Otherwise give the tummy time to settle down. I am very weary of swelling.....for some reason I connect it to issues down the road. Which I have no idea if there is a connection with or not. Anyway. baby that band!
5. A number of things can cause excessive hair loss. For example, about 3 or 4 months after an illness or a major surgery, you may suddenly lose a large amount of hair. This hair loss is related to the stress of the illness and is temporary. I blogged about it a long time ago on here and it has a name....something with a T....

k ....went back and found it...
Google Telogen and read about it.
6. I have not had a stuck episode, however I consider "stuck" as being serious and would go back to liquids. That is my personal opinion. Hope it helps.
7. is reading her heart out....been gone from the forum and there are tons of posts to read! WOW!

Hi Angie I am sorry I had stopped posting after I got pregnant!!!! But I am doing currently good my baby is a yr old next month and I am back to my weight lost!!!!

8. My band is a 10 cm 4 cc band. I suppose yours is too. The larger bands are 10 cc.
9. The good thing about the belly pics you are not fond of is you don't have that belly anymore!!!!! Woo-hoo!

10. Thanks Robbyn it was a big bummer, but what are ya gonna do? Gotta keep on moving on! I will say I have had one danish and one donut, both for breakfast. It was nice not to have to think twice about....oh will this be okay at 5-6 in the morning.... At my normal restriction, I would have been able to eat 1/2 a donut and not first thing in the morning....like maybe 7. Anyway.....pressing on. Not having the full feeling is really odd after having a full button. So I have been measuring my portions....blah! Thanks for thinking of me and the support!
11. Yes, it happened at the UNMC. I could not remember his name....he is new. I've had fills done from several different people the PA Krista, Dr. McBride, Dr. G, and a gal I can't remember her name. Krista was training him and well my fill didn't go well. At anyrate, sorry to report news to sway you. I am sticking with them, as over all I really like the care I recieve and they are great. Let me know who you decide to go to. Oh, if you go to the UNMC tell em I gave you a referral. I don't get anything for it....at least I don't think I do, but I talk to several people who have decided to go there for care. At anyrate....yep, it happened there....bummer huh! Angie
12. Your tummy is going to be so flat! Wowza!
13. Deb - those pictures are amazing! Thanks for baring and sharing with us! You look so so amazing!

14. I agree with you Pammie - they are subject to error. I hope I was not his first fill.....that would be a bad way to start out....they said he was new, but how new?? Anyway, he learned a lot from my fill. Espcecially about the smaller band vs the larger ones. At any rate....it is what it is.
15. Being out over a year, I would have to say that the sleeve would have been a better choice for me. Don't get me wrong. I love my band and have lost weight and changed so much. That is my hind sight view as it is 20/20 vision.....
16. Kim - I am planning on asking to have the office vist of the portion comped. That cost is $75.00 so x3 that alone will save me $225.00 which is a good amount. I am willing to pay the $150.00 for floro. I won't be going back in until August which sucks. My husband asked me last night, "honey do you have ANY restriction?" We had roast, veggies and a potatoe. I have a ton of veggies, a small portion of meat and a few bites of potatoe. I think I nearly consumed 60% of the veggies and had no full feeling. In measurements I'd say I had 3/4 cup cooked veg. Even with that amount of veggies, meat and pot, no full feeling. I howver was satisfied. I miss the full sensation. This morning I was able to eat a danish.....at like 5:00 am, no full feeling. Oh boy that is scarry!!!! I will have to be very aware of my choices. As a recovering fat girl at heart, I can see how easy it would be to dive head first into a plate of __________ whatever, fill in the blank! I stocked up on veggies at the store and have bought more fruit as I can use those as my fillers if I get the urge to stuff my face. I have plenty of fish, chicken, veggie patties, tofu, ect so I will stay on protein like before, but man.....the reality of KNOWING I have nada to back me up. I have made two choices for crap carbs. One a donut at work, and the other the danish. Both delicious, I might add. Anyway, lets hope they are willing to work with me on fees. It was sad to actually have a measurement of what was left in my band......I would have been better off being in the dark about the new doc taking over 1/2 of my fill with him...... Send me good JuJu I will need it!
17. Debbie I am beyond thrilled you are so happy! When it come my time I will consider Dr. Nyte for sure. (and I don't live on the west coast....more like the heartland) Looking forward to your pictures! Ye-haw! Getty Up!
18. I have cooled my heat so to speak. You are right, no drinking has played a role in the super hot food I use to eat......
19. That is a huge success!!! I agree with you. Goal here you come!
20. Hey! Hope you are doing okay, seen your status and I wanted to come over and cheer you on!

21. Thanks Kevin - I agree it does suck. What are ya gonna do...ya know. I've called the office, but have not heard back from the nurse yet. I'd like to get on the fill schedule again. This morning I had a breakfast that I have not enduldged in for a while....a cake donut with sprinkles. LOL It is so strange to me to not have to chew and being able to eat a breakfast choice like that. It was a treat, and I won't be making it a regular habit, but like I said.....no restriction. In a way it feels so foreign......you really get use to the cues and sensations of being limited....then poof they are gone and viala! It sure feels weird not to have to chew chew chew.... How's the adjustment/weightloss going for ya? When are you thinking of running for the boarder? Good to see a post from ya! Don't be a stranger! Angie
22. Good to know it doesn't hurt bad. Looking forward to your new pics! How long does the doc keep you on the ointment?
23. Yep, I know I have a good local fill place.....some, like you have to travel and go to more expense. I feel blessed to find a center of excellence to care for me. I have learned so very much from the people on this board....it is a great place to ask questions and learn. Plus you can make some good friends to boot. That sounds like a ruff learning curve. One good thing to have to build restriction several months is I had a adjustment time. I didn't go from 0-60 in two fills.....I adapted a little at a time. Even though I am still a foodie, I have changed so much. The band has been a good teacher. I call mine Hope, the name is fitting. I am 1/2 way to goal. I am pleased at my progress, fitness level and growth. Life is good!
