Hey - I voted. I have had 5 fills. I am at a good level of restriction. I do not go to the OCC due to time/travel/cost. I stay local and am very happy with my choice.
All my fills have been done under floro.
Hope this helps
Debbie - Thanks so much for letting me know I am thought of. It makes me feel good! *Warm Fuzzy*
I am hoping to get back on top of it again. Have been hovering and picking up on some habits I left off....the snack monster visits me and I have to FIGHT him off. He wins on occasion....boo
You are so inspirational! I've also been spending time listening to othe WLS patients on the famous You Tube. Yes, it has been sucking my time.....I listen while I work....so it is not to bad. I have my own channel and make vids on there. It's fun and has opened doors to new friendships!
Congrats Carrie! Woo hoo! Girl friend! I literally just stood up and did a HAPPY DANCE for you. Way to go.
Way to go everyone and I am wishing everyone health! (HUGS)
Seems I am in hold mode. Fine with me...I've been sick on and off for the better part of a month.
For now I am working on wellness. Congrats to all the loosers!
Up .1 lb from last week. I was thrilled. Being so sick I was off on foods and drank a lot of juice.
I was expecting a gain. So a tiny gain made me very happy!
B - Coffee

L - black bean patty

D - chicken nuggets with sweet and sour sauce

Hi Andrea - Actually I have been going to the University Of Nebraska Medical Center. When I was checking everyone out, they had the best program and for that matter rates. Plus they use floro everytime. No blind fills. I was looking for that as well. I do feel fortunate to go to a center of excellence and have such awesome care. I go in each month of a nurse visit and have had a good experience with all of the staff.
In my opinion it is the surgeons preference as to whether or not they will take on the patient. When I was doing my calling around the area to each bariatic program, I found this to be true.
The first apt I had with my new surgeon here, she reviewed my chart and took a picture of my band for my file. The picture was to show that at the time of my 1st fill my band was in place and A-OK. Which it was and I knew it would be. The surgeon I choose told me up front the cost, packages and all that jazz.
I love the program I am in here in Omaha. I would recommend them to anyone!
Anne - I can't even anwser your question. I track what I eat, but not the details. I suppose on a "good day" I stay around 1000-1200 but lately I have been very terrible. I've been sick, so I was drinking OJ like crazy. Tons of sugar and cals but I haven't tracked. I expect to have a gain this week on Wed Weigh Ins.
It will be interesting to see what others post. I know some of my friends stay at 800-1000 cals but I am not that good with food yet.
I love greek yogurt and eat it often for breakfast. I've bought the plain and the w/ fruit already in the cup. When I do the plain, I add my own fruits to it. I like your honey idea. I will have to try it.
I have a back up of frozen friuts so if I run out of fresh I can pull from my freezer. That helps with the yogurt adds. They have a mixed berry that is very yummy. We go through a ton of strawberries and bananas at our house. Other fruits too but those are hard to keep up with. Oh, and with bananas you can freeze them when they are ripe so they don't get to soft. I am not a soft banana fan.....
What other things do you add to your yogurt Kristi?
Coffee with FF creamer
Protein shake made with water, strawberries, 1/2 banana
L - Cooked carrots, corn, chicken, broccoli, and a tiny bit of pasta
S - tooties rolls x 8 and a mini tootsie sucker.
D - Turkey helper
VW - 60 oz
I would do it before the trip as well. She will be healed and ready to rock and roll. I had no issues eating anything before my fills began. Matter of fact, I didn't see good restriction till my 4th fill. Restriction that stayed that is. Your wife may or may not loose weight right away. There is no standard to the rule.
If it were me, I would have the surgery before I went. Then when I got back I could begin my fill adjustments. She will not miss out on any of the goodies on the trip. Not one bit!
Hope this helps!

Hmm I ate a lot of food today....been sick and really off track...
Janice!!! So glad your time there was flawless! I understand the boarder there can bit time consuming to cross. Good to pad your time! I've only had one fill that I felt a bit of discomfort with. That was due to the gal hitting the plastic around the port. She actually bent the needle all the heck. Really that one didn't "hurt" either. It was more pressure from her pushing.
We are lucky, the stomach is one of the best places to be poked. Padding! LOL
YAY! You are on your way girlfriend!!!!
