  1. Good to see you post! I miss you being vocal around here.....

  2. Hi FarmGirlinNC - I would say if you are feeling the full sensation I would hold off from eating or drinking at this point until the feeling has passed. Odds are you may have some food in your pouch that was not chewed well enough to make it through the opening. Who knows really, but if you are feeling full the morning after I would take a step back. With or without a fill, we need to be mindful of the amounts of food we are eating. Over doing it can cause out pouch to dialate which is not good. Also if we have a fill or not, we need may have restriction even prior to a fill. I've read of people who have not "needed" a fill right away because they feel it right away. Take our own RevyD aka Debbie for example. She has not had a fill and is doing phenomenal. As of yet she has not made an apt for a fill. I on the other had felt "bandster hell" and was oh so ready for my first fill. I would urge you to eat slowly, take small bites and pay attention to how full you are feeling. It is hard for us to change over night, but considering the cost of the surgery or a revision surgery.....Ugh! Hope this reply helps! Angie
  3. Debbie - break out the dictionary! LOL I had to look up the word "exhorter" because I was unclear of the meaning. Now I am a bit smarter because of you! Thanks! Margaret - your the best! Thanks for the compliment! (I think you rock too!) Debbie - I suppose I can come on a bit strong! Ha! I will say that you have my admiration, personally I think you are very smart for knowing to use the tools, other than the tool in your stomach to get back on track. It's funny to me how my thinking can be so off. What I mean is I lost 100lbs a while ago by shear hard work and a drastic change in my eating. At that time, I was on top of the world. I felt great and "NEVER" thought in a million years I would fall back into my "old ways." Well, guess what. I broke my foot, my now hubsand began cooking and wow did I ever pack the lbs on! It was so pitiful. The more I would eat crap'o'la and garbage food, the worse I would feel. The worse I would feel, the more garbage food I would eat. Before long I feel into a depression. It is so crazy how fast I put the lbs back on too! So dishearting. To get to the point, I didn't pull myself up by my boot straps. I did nothing to help myself. Viola! Here I am today, working on a change again. This time, I needed help. My life has changed so much from the days of prior weight loss and to be frank. I didn't have the umph to do it again. I couldn't find my MOJO to get moving and start a positive pattern to build on. I am a results oriented person. I see results and I get motivated! REALING myself back in here.....LOL What I am saying is you are doing great things for yourself. That my friend you should be VERY PROUD OF! Screw guilt! Who has time for it? Do your very best today, and I will too! We will pick each other up along the way when we fall short. Honesty is the antidote to my diseased thinking for sure. You are on the right track!
  4. Self esteem – Feels so good! Looking better….oh, wait…..a compliment! I am at the 40 lbs lost mark. (happy dance) A co-worker said she could see I was loosing weight. YES! Love it! That makes 4 people I work with who have noticed a change! Thank heavens, I was starting to wonder if people were blind!! It is amazing how you can loose weight and no one will comment. It feels good to see and feel the changes I have with my own body, and yet when someone else notices it it’s like icing on top of the cake! Speaking of cake….I made one this weekend. It boggles my mind that I am able to eat cake. (&*%^$#@) Now, on the other hand I was listening to an outside source tell me how I shouldn’t cut bread out of my diet all together. How bad it is to eliminate certain foods from my diet. (You know people who are up in your business and telling you what to do concerning your diet; that are not bandsters.) So I listened. What the heck was I thinking?! I bought some appetizer whole wheat bread to try. The bread is sliced at ¼ inch or so, pretty darn thin. I toasted it and put some tuna and egg on it. First bite “seemed” to go down, I chew the dickens out of it, and so I took my second bite; again chewing like crazy. Uhtt oh as my toddler would say….I felt what I thought was a soft stop. Immediately I stop eating and think to myself, I won’t be able to eat more of my sandwich if it doesn’t pass. THEN my mouth started to water. Crap’o’la! I made my way to the kitchen and well you know the rest. Bread is a no go for me know. Cake….cake I can do….you got to be kidding me! I’ve thought long and hard about this next fill. Right now I can eat ½ cup to 1 cup of food depending on what it is and the time of day. Some times I can eat over 1 cup. In the mornings I notice my serving size is more ½ cup ish if the food is solid or not a slider food, such as greek yogurt. If I eat yogurt I can eat the full cup. From what I’ve read, the ideal portion size is ¼ cup. Good Lord Have Mercy! It’s such a small amount of food. I purchased some ½ cup containers this weekend and they look so small. Each fill I get better and better restriction, adjust to smaller portions and get further away from my need to eat larger portions of food. This is a good thing! I’ve decided to push the fill. I am going to the next size down pouch/stoma. I’ve watched a shit ton of you tube videos and the people who are skinny and at goal seem to have a common portion size. SMALL! So I am working toward that. I have my doubts about doing this, but I figure if it does not work for me and unfill is a phone call away. I am focused on being positive and pushing out the negative. Now, if my weight loss had not stalled out, I would be happy to stay right where I am. Wish me a good fill and think happy thoughts for me ya’ll! Here we go! Let’s get thin together!
  5. B - coffee with FF cream hard boiled egg 1/2 cup L - Grilled chicken with SBR BBQ Corn
  6. Tootsie_LouDid I hear someone say pumpkin pie! That is my weakness....ugh! I will be making the pumpkin crustless pie this year. It is yummy and not loaded with guilt....I mean fat! Ha! Barb - With each failure we gain experience and strength. Matter of fact with out failure, sweet success would not feel nearly as good! You are awesome, don't get down on your self. Focus on some postives, tell yourself each day how great you are going to do! Pump yourself up! Dust yourself off! We are blessed, we have bands to help us manage our weight! How fricking awesome is that! Glad you are back. Keep sharing. My surgeon says those who stay plugged in have better success! Way to get your self plugged in!
  7. Sweet Success! Gotta love it. Seven months of doing the deal has paid off! I am doing cart wheels in my head for you. If I did it in real life, well let's just say it wouldn't be pretty! Congrats on the hard won weight loss!
  8. Carrie - Girl you sure do know how to perk a persons spirit up. My stats are not to impressive. For me, this has been something it has taken me time to wrap my head around. I knew going in this was a slower weight loss, that the tool was not going to do all the work for me. Still I had expectations of my success, which really messed with my head. For the most part I have gotten over that part. Still has it's flare up moments. For me, I lost 4 lbs on the liquid diet. That blew me away. Now, I look at it like this. ....that is a time of healing for my body. When I lost the 100lbs before I did it in a year. No band to help. So I guess I figured my loss would be a little bit better. Reading how people can loose 6-8 lbs a week really was impressive. That has not been my story. I have however lost 40 lbs so far and i have 5 months to go to round out the year. Which is a pretty impressive weight loss, so what the heck is there to get my panties in a bunch for?!? I am so glad we are friends, I really appreciate you so much!!!!
  9. Please I hope you know you are welcome here. This is an amazing board and there are many people who post and read here that have not has surgery at the OCC.
  10. My weight loss has really slowed down. I lost 2 lbs this month. Down 8 lbs since my last fill in Sept. I've been watching a lot of videos on you tube. People vlog about there journey. I have really learned alot. I am a visual person so it helps to see people and pictures of what they are talking about. They get honest about things and it has been refreshing. Getting my head in the game for my next fill. Each one is a process for me. Getting use to less food and all the adjustments that come with it. I hope I will see more weight loss. I don't have much to say really. Just wanted to check in and say I am alive and kicking!
  11. I found a good product that helps me with my crunch cravings. Most of the protein I eat is chewy, meaty, smooth, ect. Not much has the crunch I am looking for. I am talking like the crunch of chips, not the crunch of nuts....both are different to me. Soy Crisps - Deep Sea Salted Serving size 17 crisps 3.5 Serivings per bag 100 cals a serving Total fat 1.5g Trans fat 0 Cholesterol 0 Sodium 270 mg Total Carbs 15 g Dietary Fiber 2 g Sugars 0 PROTEIN 8 g To me they look like little mini rice cakes. They have a good crunch! Eureka! I am eating them with Athenos Hummus Artichoke and Garlic. Double yummo! When I bought them I was really wondering how "good" this product could be. Turns out I was pleasently suprised. They provided me with the crunch I was longing for AND!!! they are good for me! Love it! A bit pricey, but hey it's not like the average serving size is our custom size anyway. So that makes it even better yet! Here is a pic of the products! Happy Friday Ya'll!
  12. Hey - how's solid food treating ya?

  13. Lena - I miss reading your posts. How are you?

  14. That is sad. I have been staying away from Indian nearly all togther, seems with it I want to drink. So.....I avoid it now. : (
  15. Okay here is my lunch today. I am eating a Chipolte Black Bean burger. It is very yummy. I also add a bit of salsa. I love me some spice! Here is the the before eating shot. Here is the way I chop it up to eat it. Makes it super easy to chew and I don't have "issues" with this food choice. I leave the portion unchopped up to the side. This is to see if I am hungry enough to eat that portion. What I don't consume, I toss in the trash. Otherwise I can pick at the leftovers.....I've been known to do that to the point of having issues. Not stuck, just to full and I have to let it come up because the food is in my throat....yay, nice huh. *this is why I trash the left overs.....so it doesn't happen. I am a work in progress, on my way to beautiful! Okay here is what is left....... Good protein and tastes yummy!
  16. Hi Beth - do you have fiber tablets or pills, chromium(sp). I would suggest you take them, it will help you run from the turkey! LOL We had our Thanksgiving meal yesterday. Ugh! I ate the pie.....even though it wasn't premium.....ate it anyway..... How long do you have to wait for a check? A few weeks or a month?
  17. Lindsay - great list! I have tow questions. What do you use the unsweetend cocoa on or with? You can do rice with no complications....? I've read most bandsters with a "good" level or restriction can no longer do rice....that is why I am asking. For me, I take in maybe a tbs of rice tops. I don't have much room..... Did you have fun in China? It looked great from your blog/pictures.
  18. IrishRN - WOW! 170's you are rocking! Shelby - You are doing sooo good! Hang in there! Kristi - Can you be any more on fire! Welcome to Wed Weigh In's Ladyhart77 and Bogiesmom! Glad to have you join us!
  19. Kristi - you are amazing and let me tell ya, hard work pays off! You are living proof! I've really enjoyed watching your speed right by me and into HOTTNESS! Very impressive! Way to go! Can't wait to see you hit goal!
  20. Welcome to the best little forum around! Come on in and make yourself at home. Pretty soon you will feel like you are surrounded by friends.....well mostly! LOL Glad you are joining us!
  21. Carrie you are so funny! That would be a no holds bar stuff my face session.....not the munchies! HA! My goodness I love this band! The amount of food we get served us so outrageous! I will confess, I could ask for a smaller portion....well maybe I have hope that I will ask for a smaller portion. I still am attached to food and its hard to pare down....the mental side of this is the hardest to live with. I love ya Carrie and I think you rock! How's the gas pains? Hope you are feeling better and better!
  22. Debbie - thanks for your reply. I went back and tried to make my before and after pictures a bit more clear. Good to know it could use a bit of clarity. Thanks for letting me know. Sometimes it's hard to say what we want to relay on the computer! Your not slow.....not one bit! Ha! I am a visual person, so it helps me to understand if I can see or do something. That is why I put up a picture of what I am eating at a meal. I may do it again with my everyday foods. (This was not the healthiest of meals to put up. CARBS!) I was also suprised I was able to eat the stuffing. I figured that it would be a "stuck" food. Nope, had no issue at all with it. Weird! This band is full of suprises. HUGS! Angie
  23. I wanted to let you know a bit more. My son and I both had my left overs for dinner last night. We both had food left on our plates, AND I have one more meal left out of the portion I was served for lunch yesterday. So, the above pictures meal will be 4 meals for me. Blows me away sometimes when I think about how far I have come! It's these small everyday victories that keep my head focused and in the game when I am working on adjusting my head to work the best with my band. I love this band!
