My emotions were running high that night, But I’m so glad you started this thread & that I opened it. I am rather new here & am trying to learn all that I can - this does give me a much better understanding of what being stuck can be like & the Famous PB... LOL. All I was told if I had any questions about pre op diet to get in touch with her, I was told how much to pay when to e-mail my travel arrangments over at lest 10 days before & that's it? Oh and I was told to lose 5% of my weight, and when to stop some of the meds I use.. But that was all through when I booked.............. I thought someone whould call me, but I guess not

Who sets the target weight? And how is the number determined?

Ok I'm really late coming to this topic... And haven't read through it just yet, But Ya see My train of thought is They want to give me the band just as much as I want to PAY for it. Yeah we are to lose some weight, But I think if you lose any weight at all 3, 5, 7 pounds- In less you have some medical condition, They’re gonna Band you... I know I'm being very bad thinking like this, but it's a business - I wonder just how many people they have turned away cause they only lost 5 pounds instead of 10 just using those numbers as an example.. I do plan on losing 8 pounds in a week - starving myself( Basically, 2 shakes and a lean cuisine sure sounds like I'll be starving), But lets face it we haven’t been all that successful in the past and we all need help in controlling amounts and types of food we stuff ourselves with... Gosh you're good,I still haven't thought much about anything... I was told to lose 5% of my weight so that's like 9 - 10 pounds My choice was option 1 for a week, Or option #2 for 10 days. I was leaning towards diet option #1 - Why prolong the torture to 10 days... #-o Like you I’m trying not to gain before the pre -op. It's only been 43 days since I quit smoking and I have days where I eat everything in and out of sight! Though it’s getting easier, I still have that hand to the mouth habit...... Not good!

My friend that's coming to TJ with me on May 19th Started e-mailing Cosmed on Thursday for price and all infor on some lipo, She’s young, 130#’s never needed to lose more then 15 pounds, and has never had a child. She has a little sag. They needed a picture, she sent it, But as of today she still hasn't gotten a price from them, And not all that much info. We are finding them a bit slow on getting back to us. So I'm just wondering are we too anxious or are they slow to go over there. I have to say - I have NOT experienced this with OCC. And is this the norm for them?

Hello BD - And how are you today? Today is a different day for me, A good day. I let the best of my nerves get to me the other night. I do know for sure this is for me. I have peace with my decision. OK see you just enlighten be again. My mind frame was thinking OMGoodness When I tell people & my doctors I’m going to Mexico and letting a doctor do this to me, they will think I’m nuts, But If I tell them Doc O performed this procedure there is a good chance they may know or heard of him & I may not get that reaction I am in a very strong mind set theses days. I mean Com’on it took me10 days of Severe withdrawal (NOT Fun) and another 2 weeks of the Chantix pills to break a 30 plus year, pack a day menthol smoking habit. And I know without a shadow of doubt I will never smoke again So just like I used the Chantix I will use the band to help me have control over losing weight and keeping it off. I was just re-reading your post, And wanted to say Thank YOU, I guess I will have those butterflies until I get out of surgery May 20th........ the nearest fill center is like 48 miles away in Hartford CT... ... Not good but it's do-able. I bet on the North Shore there's doctors! North Shore University Hospital Has tp have doctors, it's just if they will take me. So this Doc Ren, is who you go to? he's the one that doesn't take any new patients from Mexico? Do you find that when doctors hear you went to TJ to get banded they freak? what is their reaction?

Oh How'd ya know I'm such a Chugger of Coke...........But I already put in my head NO more Coke. I wonder if the gas is like when you have a C-section? I had 2 of those and had to walk it off. Is there a reason why I keep reading many here use gas strips, & not something else?

Ok I'm about to sign my paper work in the morning an schedule getting banded for May20th. Last week when I finally made the decision I was so happy & all gun-ho. Now that it’s coming down to me signing papers and leaving a Deposit I’m all nervous and afraid of what could go wrong. If I take too big of a bite and get stuck? then what about going for a fill here in states will there be a problem? Maybe there is something that I should know and haven’t been told or read about.. Did I ask all the question I should have? Then there’s the fact that I go through a package of Zantac like they are candy, I So what kind of Gas will I have? My emotions are so crazy right now......... Don't mind me thanks shiney42

WOW see that's great to hear, my sister will be my companion and I would hate for her to be travling back & forth to the clinic feeling nervous. She does have her own family and is doing me a great favor, I wouldn't want her to be uncomfortable. I figured clinic was sucure I'm glad I asked, I have spent hours looking at threads and haven't come across on that spoke deeply on travel, I have even gone back to page 4 reading topics............. Thanks Dolittle If you have never been there you have NO idea what roads are safe. As I watched the news this morning Mexico's Secretary of Tourism had a spokesperson & explianed that there ARE HOT SPOTS But places that were troubled like TJ have come under control and how even though things sound bad it's bad for the drug dealer not the tourist. Thanks to Felipe Calderón things are getting better..... All good to know =D> Enjoy your day
