Hi there, well I live in Norwalk right by Cerritos College and actually work in Cerritos. Small world huh??? I had actually followed your post mostly cause of your "about me" post you wrote. I related so much to what you wrote and it hit home with me in many ways. My insurance denied my band here. My BMI was on the lower side (34) and I didn't have any "complications" due to my weight. That's how I ended up @ OCC paying it on my own.

I know how excited you feel. The hardest thing for me has been the wait. Luckily August is just around the corner My surgery is on Aug. 8th. Any chance your is scheduled for the same day??

Hello, I'm scheduled to get surgery on August 7th and I was wondering if the was a support group or interest in forming one for OCC patients. I live on the border of LA and Orange county.

That's great. I love mini goals and always set them up for myself.

Unfortunately some people are just like that. Instead of wishing you well or being proud of you for taking control they judge you. Why? Who knows. I haven't had my surgery yet (it's on 8/7) but I have already made up my mind not to tell anyone but my 2 best friends, my sister and my husband. Only their opinion matters to me. I decided to do without additional opinions or comments that might hurt my feelings. Unfortunately, as you start to look great they crank up the heat with the comments. In L.A. we call them HATERS. Don't worry about it what matters is that you feel good and are confident wit the desicion you made.

Thanks for the motivation! I'll try and stay focus until the surgery date. Congrats on your sucessful weight loss. You look absolutely incredible. I'm sure you get that all the time but really it's just amazing. =D> I hope I can get the same results!!

Actually, I live in the Los Angeles area, so I will driving in. I was soo exicted to post I forgot to add my picture and a ticker, but that will come later. It is all super exciting. I can't wait :cheerleader:

My surgery is scheduled for Friday. 8/7 with Dr. Ortiz. I am confident that all will go well and that I will be well on my way to being me again!!!

Finally after 1 year of research and debating I have decided to move forward with the lapband. My surgery is scheduled for Friday, 8/7. Now the hardest part will be to the wait until the date comes!!! I am nervous but so excited at the same time. I know my journey will be difficult, but well worth it in the the end. Thank you for all your postings. They have been a true inspiration to me!!
