  1. Doing Great. Glad to hear everyone else is as well. Happy Easter everyone
  2. I am from Vancouver Island. I did not have the sleeve but had the gastric band. Was thrilled with the OCC . They are very professional and as nurse i can highly recommend them and their facility
  3. Thanks . I check in every day but I find so many of the posts now are about the sleeve so I have nothing to post re that . I remember when I first got banded and before this board was soooooooooooooo helpful to me. Now I miss all the old gang who like me probably read but don't post anymore because most of the postings are about the sleeve and not the band. I am still here though
  4. This is an interesting post. I also found that men hounded me about stop loosing Debbie you look good and we dont want you loosing too much. It did not help that I work with doctors everyday. Of course women understood wanting to lose just 10 more pounds. With mixed messages I had to be careful because I thought hell if doctors think I am doing well then and don't have to lose maybe it is okay to have that dessert etc etc etc. Before I knew it i had put on 10 pounds. Everyone things I look great but I feel like a looser because I gained. We have to be careful to have the right motives for loosing and not let anyone else influence us. If I had not listened to the doctors I probably would not have gained any weight back. But because they were doctors I felt it was okay to go a little crazy. Needless to say I am paying for it now as I have to lose that extra 10 pounds. Listen to yourself. Have a healthy goal set by your doctor and the stick with that. Don't listen to what someone else tells you should weight or look like . Learned the hard way
  5. Way to go Traci. You have done an amazing job and look fantastic
  6. Well done Lisa. Once again you are an inspiration on the board . Thanks for showing your pics and I pray a speedy recovery for you
  7. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I would have loved to have met up with all of you. Unfortunately I have plans that weekend that cannot be changed. Have an awesome time all of you and pass on what you learn Deb
  8. I am thrilled with the band. It is the best thing that I ever did for myself. If I had the option between the band and plication I still would have chosen the band Deb
  9. wow... you look awesome

  10. Way to go girlfriend. Complete new lease on life. Debbie
  11. Thanks . Being banded was the best thing I ever did for myself. I had an extended tummy tuck and thigh tuck which was quite a big surgery. I was up walking that night and flew home in 4days. I took vacation from work so that I would not have to rush back as I am a nurse. Basically I took 6 weeks off all together and was 100% fine when i returned to work. I think if just have a regular tummy tuck you can be back to work in a few weeks.
  12. Drink your water, exercise, eat enough calories and protein and be patient it will drop.
  13. I agree with Lindsay. Exercise is the main force that helps you drop weight. It is a combination of eating healthy especially your protein and do some form of exercise every day and strength train at least 3 times a week.
  14. It's true. I still check in everyday and read but the majority of the posts are around the gastric plication now and I see very few people posting about their lap bands. When I do see someone posting about their band or thinking about getting one I will usually reply. Debbie
