  1. Hi. You are so young that you will probably lose your weight and not have an apron. Just exercise the whole time you are losing and your skin should tighten up. Good luck Debbie
  2. Hi Angie. Thanks for the information on uploading pictures. I have put some on my signature because you asked yesterday . I can't believe how different I look. I am so glad I took pictures when i started. I only wish that I had a picture of me at my heaviest which was 317. Anyways I am soooooooooo LOVE MY BAND
  3. Hi . I was just reading this post again and wanted to point something out. Yes I have lost 79.5 pounds but that is not all since I started my pre-op. My highest weight was 317 pounds and I lost 20 pounds prior to making the decision to be banded. Since I made the decision to be banded in September I have lost 60 pounds. Don't want to take any false credit. However I am still amazed and what I have lost since I was banded. Thanks for all the encouragement everyone. I love reading this forum and I get so much support and good advice that it really helps me to stay motivated and keep losing. Debbie
  4. Hi Tangerine. I prefer to eat my protein verses drinking it. If you are talking about the liquid stage I just used Slimfast optimun. They have a royal fudge flavor that was amazing. Now that I am eating I just make sure that I eat my protein. At least 50 grams a day. Hope that helps Debbie
  5. Okay so how do I post pictures on my signature page. Somebody walk me through it and I will post some pics for you all to see Debbie

  12. Hi Steph. I walk 30 -40 minutes a day. I live on the side of a mountain so I walk downhill and then back up. It is a great workout. On days it is raining I walk on my treadmill. I make sure that I do it 7 days a week. Cutting out carbs was not hard. I think doing the liguid diet post op really helped because I cut out carbs then. I find I am addicted to carbs and sugar. If I leave them alone I don't crave them. If I start eating them I go crazy and go right out of control. So best thing for me right now is to avoid . I do have crackers with my tuna but that is it. I am a woman with a mission and that missions is to be a goal by Oct 2010 so I can take my kids to disneyland and ride all the rides

  15. Hi Jenya. I agree with what Dawn wrote about everyone is different and reading this forum daily will get you most of the information you need. First off congratulations on your decision to be banded. It is the best thing you will ever do for yourself. I am 51 and I wish I had of had the opportunity to be banded when I was your age. As you can see by my stats my hightest weight was 317. I was loosing on nutrisystem before I found out about the lap band in Mexico and how inexpensive it was. When I started my pre-op Iwas 229 and at surgery was 269 so I lost 30 ounds on the pre-op diet. I did 2 slim fast shakes a day and a lein cuisine meal for dinnner. I pretended I was already banded so never drank with meals, cut out soda and walked 30 minutes a day. The operation itself was no problem at all . Staff and facility were amasing and my surgery took 17 minutes. I did have alot of bruising post op but it went away in a couple of weeks. I have followed the rules very carefully that Iwas given at the OCC and lose on average 2-3 pounds a week. I think if you follow the rules they give you and most important exercise 7 days a week you are going to see weight melt off at your age. I have not had a fill yet and still feel restriction with no real hunger and am losing great just following the rules they gave me. I am so excited that you are getting to start this so young. Oh yea I only told my best friend that I was going. I did not want a lot ofnegative feedback after I made the decision. I have since told my parents but no one else including my kids knows., When people ask how I am doing it I just say smaller poritions, excercise and cut out junk food . They stop asking questions then are are very excited for me. Well I have to run to church now. I am so happy for you. Keep us posted Debbie

  20. I am just trying to follow the rules that the OCC gave me and am doing well. Eating healthy , smaller portions, not drinkig with meals and exercising 7 days a week. I personally have cut out junk food and most carbs but I have alot to lose and am determined to do it within one year. The band is awesome because you feel full quicker and it makes it so much easier with portion control. Good luck on your decision. Debbie

  24. Hi Angie. I goofed today. My system in the morning is roll out bed and make it. Stumble into the bathroom to pee and then automatically stand on the scales. Would never think of weighing before I pee cause that could add weight LOL I have been doing this soooooooooooo long it is just a pattern. So without thinking I did it today. Realized when my weight came up that I was not supposed to be weighing today. Ooops So not a good start to this challenge. I will have to take the scales out of the bathroom and then it will be out of sight out of mind. Tomorrow is another day ! Have a good one Im off to save the world Debbie
