is this before or after? cus you look nice!
  2. So I've been trying to stay faithful to breakfast like Dr. So recommended. I normally need a cup of coffee to function during the day time. I just find it difficult to eat after I had my coffee. I'll have a 8oz cup of coffee with no sugar and a dash of milk. I have that around 8am and i try to eat a small cup of oatmeal or whatever i brought for breakfast. By the time I do get the food i can hardly eat it. The coffee will keep me full until lunch time (sometimes im not hungry even then, i just eat something because i know i have to eat) which is nice because i actually have became more selective at lunch time. Coffee always had this effect on me even prior to getting banded... the only difference was i'd have it with a side bread (pan dulce) or cookies and it was a way bigger cup of coffee with sugar. can any coffee drinkers out there make any suggestions? i really don't want to skip breakfast but i don't know how to replace my coffee. HELP?
  3. just go to Revolucion and write down cross streets. i speak spanish but i still got a little lost even when i asked for directions (walking) but taxi's came to my rescue.. i had my bf go and change $20 worth in pesos and we paid taxis like that but they also take dollars so take lots of singles so you don't have to wait for change. as for my last meal... we ordered room service and it was terrible. i had some kind of pasta with "alfredo" and it had NO flavor. it came with wild rice but it was really bad too. my bf's (not banded) he had a salmon plate. it was ok..but not much flavor either.. i suggest you just go down to the restaurant. i think it comes from the same place but at least there you can send it back not like room service. OR just go to the sombrero place (it's a huge sombrero building) walking distance to the marriot. i hear that it's really good there. i would've if i had the option to do that over. just remember not to eat too late... actually after 12mdnite. so i think you can eat whatever you like.
  4. thank you thank you...haha bandida!!

  5. i heard they're a waste of money.. google them. BUT i don't own any.
  6. this is awesome...im still currently in my sweater phase... im not ready to let go...and it's hot outside!!
  7. i know exactly how you feel...i kept going up and down 5 lbs... since i first got banded..im on month 4 and im starting to see results..im down to 199 for the first time in a long time..hang in there

  8. yes this forum was so helpful when i got my 1st fill. i've never taken the amtrak but i know they do drop you off where you can just walk and catch a taxi. there is a post where someone posted the amtrak directions with pictures and everything. if i find them, ill post the link to your comments
  9. so i've driven to san diego and parked at the mexicoach parking lot and taken the actual mexicoach (the red shuttle)$12 bucks round trip to mexico and back . it drops you off near the taxis and then the taxi cost 5bucks to take you to the occ for both of you. then when you want to go back... i've taken a taxi to REVOLUCION /7TH ... walked around a bit and at the pick up time... head back to the parkinglot... parking is like 8bucks... sooo...... that comes up to a total of 42 bucks or so... i also have driven to the OCC which is less scarier than it seems..
  10. OMG... you will be surprised how good you will feel about yourself when you are done with the liquid phase... i thought i wouldnt get through it, and i did! i had to lock myself away during dinner time a few times... i turned up the tv, and lit scented candles to mask the yummy food smell in the room.. i my family was not at all sympathetic to my situation and even had the nerve to cook my favorite food on my 3rd day on liquids.. i have to admit, i did chew spit and rinse a few times... but towards the end, i stopped wanting the foods. good luck and you will do great. we're here for support!
  11. CONGRATZ... im from LA.

I hope you decide to go back to the OCC for your fills... it's really the best choice for us that can. :] good luck

  12. i have one!! when you learn to ignore confused looks from co-workers when the "taco run" order sounds like this.. Mike: 6 tacos Joe: 8 tacos Pam: 4 tacos Ana: 4 tacos Erica: One chicken taco?
  13. well if you look at my signature i listed the dates of my fills and stuff... i've been banded about 5 going on 6 months and wasnt really losing.. i had my first and never felt any restriction... then i went by how my body felt... i went back for the second felt restriction for a week, then NOTHING... so i went back at the end of the month like Dr. So suggested (well he asked me to wait a month, but i couldnt) and got my 3rd fill.. i now have a good amount of restriction and i hope it stays this way for a long time.
  14. OK... im at work. reading your post.. and a tear ran down my cheeck... im looking around to see if anyone noticed, lol. Kristi you are truly my motivation.. congratz and i can't wait to get my but back into the gym... only one request... can you elaborate on your workout routine with your trainer? what types of workouts did you do.. well for the few of us that can't afford a trainer.. :]
  15. i've always had my raw oats in my shakes since i can remember..every time i make that people think it's gross..hahaha glad im not alone.
  16. it's like you read my brain... i havent been able to get to the gym, so im not losing. and i do have restriction, so it's alot more frustrating when you eat so little and lose nothing. i think my hormones are getting the best of me. i can't believe i actually want to go to the gym. i've been getting off the bus about 10 blocks away from my house and walking the rest of the way to see if that helps... i'm staying off the scale for a while tho. it's too depressing... i think to myself.."how did i let myself go like this" all the time. but i know things will get better.. you should too... lets be patient
  17. well it's coming along... i havent jumped on the scale in a week but last time i did, i maintained my weight and i havent really been working out since my car broke down and havent been able to get to the gym daily. but i notice the improvement.

  18. oh yes!! getting stuck feels like you're about to die right?! lol well im not 100% sure this is how im suppose to feel but... if i don't chew enough it may come back up or i get the sensation of getting stuck.. and i do get full really fast... or at least i feel satisfied...

  19. yes i do.. i feel restriction... i as at 6.5 cc's before this one and only felt restriction the first week... waited a few weeks and went back and got filled to 8cc's im feeling good now.

  20. i've tried this... it was years ago.. it was probably like 10 years ago..i was getting ready for my sweet 15. i did it, but i gained it all back... i havent done this with my lapband.. i find it alot easier to eat the healthy stuff and have variety... these kinds of diets made me hate the thought of following planned meals.
  21. ok... i was terrified of needles too!! actually the fills is what helped me with my fear...it was so silly of me to be scared and i just went ahead and did it because my determination to get healthy was greater than my fear. so after the first one i realized..IT DOESN'T HURT!! don't think about it soo much... i usually get a laugh attack because there i am with a needle in my tummy and it doesnt hurt a bit... i think it's hilarious.
  22. How many cc's do you have? i didn't feel any restriction until my 3rd fill.. i'm at 8cc's. hang in there.

  23. i had my first pb with a ham sandwich... it was about an hour after my second fill... i had ONE bite of my bf's soggy handmade sandwich and then i started to feel the tightness in my chest... i walked around like a headless chicken... then i found the restroom and BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURP... it came up... i dont eat sandwiches anymore and that's a staple at home.. soo it was tough to swallow the idea that... (hehe) i wasn't gonna be eating sandwiches or white bread anymore.. but im happy i did... the results are already starting to show.. well not on the scale but i felt swollen or bloated before..now i feel... well less. i also got stuck on red meat after that... i'm still discovering what makes me get stuck and what doesn't... i also can relate on the soft PB... it happens when i have that extra bite... and it slowly comes back up.. it's gross
