  4. Well the DVD came today and Bogie and I did it together. I have to say that it was a bit too basic for me & I feel like I need something a bit more challenging. Bogie was confused for the most part and when I kept trying to get him into certain poses he reverted back to the "plopped down and lay on the side" pose. It had my son cracking up the whole time. At one point Bogie hid in the corner of the living room and would just watch me from behind his carrier as I did the poses. Over all he was a good sport and absolutely enjoyed the attention at least. His favorite part was the chapter on dog message. He really got into that one I will keep doing this a couple times a week but over all Bogie and I could use more of a challenge (As I type this he is giving me a look that says "speak for yourself").
  5. What has helped me is not eating out and preparing all my meals at home. I do not fry foods and would not recommend them. If you do not have a George Forman, now is a good time to buy one. I grill everything on the George that I do not bake in the oven. Things that I recommend are: grilled fish fillets: Maui Maui, salmon, tilapia, cod, etc. Grilled vegetables granola bars fresh fruit salads (aid in digestion & count as vegetables) whole grains egg white ommelets Dr. Miranda has a webinar video posted to this forum that is VERY GOOD at explaining your nutritional needs and how you should be eating.   6. I had really bad port pain all day yesterday for the very first time since surgery & I am over 4 months out.
  7. Apprehensive: 300 calories for 3 ounces (or 100 calories an ounce) is NOT okay. That means 1 cup would be 800 calories Even on a 2,000 calorie per-day diet that is recommended to maintain your current body weight you are looking at almost 1/2 of your recommended daily caloric intake in 1 cup. I am going to put you recipe in my WW on-line Recipe Builder to see if I can come up with a healthier alternative. I am not trying to be mean or rude, I just am concerned that too much of this stuff (even on the liquid phase) could bring you into the danger zone of "drinking liquid calories" that slip right through the band and can cause weight gain in the long run. Maybe this was a typo on your end and I am totally over reacting to the typo. Post Script: Assuming that this soup makes a total of 4 servings at 1 cup each, it would be approximately 250 calories per serving if you used 2% reduced fat shredded cheese and fat free chicken broth. However, if you can get 5 cups out of this you are looking at 200 calories per cup, 6 cups = approximately 160 calories per cup.     Sabrina!! I am so glad you posted this!! Your arms are amazing!! Your boobs are too!!! And you man is soooooo good looking!!! I could go on and on, but I am so glad you posted this (okay I said that already). Anyway, I hate my arms! I always try to cover them up and unfortunately the are probably going to be the last to go. I do have thunder thighs that are quite noticable on my 5"2.5" frame but at least I can cover those up. I hope I loose my arms like you did.

  13. My heart goes out to you on this day of days. I cant even to begin to imagine your trials and tribulations and how you have managed to pull through it. I can only begin to understand that maybe your children are your rocks. I admire your courage on so many levels today and your success in the face of obsticles and a trying time for you puts my own battles in perspective and gives me the gumption to be strong.   15. I AM SO EXCITED I COULD SCREAM!!! I discovered the boxes of Fiber One Muffin Mix!! In honor of Easter today I decided to make a box for the very first time. The ingrediants are basic: mix, water, 2 eggs (I used a half cup of egg substitute - lowers the calories w/o sacrificing taste), & 2 Tblsp of cooking oil. Reasons why Fiber One Muffins are my new BFF: 1.Boy, this was by far the easiest baking I have ever done! The mix blended perfectly in no time at all with just a spoon! 2. Simple ingrediants 3. Muffins came out picture perfect - exactly like on the box! 4. Muffins were extremely moist! 5. My band let me eat ONE and it stayed down and thanks to that 5 grams of fiber & my band I am completely full and it is the only thing I have had to eat all day! 6. ONE muffin is only 160 calories prepared with 2.5 grams of fat and 5 grams of fiber! This means the muffin is only 2 WW Points! Needless to say I now know what I am making for co-workers if called on to do so for an employee function
  16. Amber, I feel for you girlfriend! We may not share the same political affiliations & views but I am frustrated with you every step of the way I am so glad to read about your journey. Bottom line is we are all different and some of us just are slow loosers with a lot of f'ing plateaus in between the SLLLLOOOW weight loss. I came across a youtube video tonight that I wanted to share and you are my inspiration for sharing and I hope you get the oppertunity to watch this video and the rest of Renee's videos when you find those negative voices offer you feedback.   18. I pretty much kept my band a secret too until recently. The problem with the band is that you can only keep it a secret for so long. After this last fill I pretty much had to let some of my immediate co-workers know since there are chubaka sounds coming up my esophagus and out the pie hole, burping, and such. I have not had any negative feedback whatsoever. I have recently joined facebook and have decided NOT to mention my band on there at all even though half of my friends know. The problem is that I have extended family members who I perceive as being very judgemental. My grandmother's 100 is in July and we are having a family reunion. My job is going to be to do my best to avoid eating around them as much as possible OR decide if I want to to the hot liquid thing before eating. I still am struggling with the eating out part - and that is the part that gives me away and that will be the part that gives your secret away. How in the heck am I going to explain to my relatives why I choose to eat a white castle (there are NO white castles in california ) with a knife and a fork, cut it into tiny pieces, and proceed to chew it very slowly AND only order 2 of them????? Seriously, I can SAY that I am trying to practice healthy eating habits BUT this is white castle, casual dining, vacation, once every couple of years sort of thing!

  20. Sabrina, I have been thinking about your post this morning and came to the realization that getting the band is NOT about loosing weight for ME. Let's face it, I have been doing WW this whole time and I am loosing a pound a week. Could I have done this without the band? Absolutely! Would I gain the weight back or successfully maintain the loss like you have? Who am I kidding?!?! I got the band to successfully maintain my loss! I have been so focused on loosing the weight that I lost sight of the ultimate goal, which is to be where you are at right now and feeling the sense of strength, will power, determination, & victory that you are feeling.

  22. A "good" first fill would be 4cc, however, most people do not have restriction at 4cc. Some people have reported restriction on their first fill with 5cc. If you want restriction (even a litle bit) I think you need 5cc. He should be making you drink water as you are being filled, then when you notice that the water no longer goes down easy that mean you hit the limit.
