Hi Judy!! I'm doing the 12 day diet. SO my start date will be April 30th. Including protein shakes and Lean Cuisine. I have to lose 13.5 pounds. And I paid $8,500 for the surgery plus air fare for me and my hubby so around $9K. After all the Easter Candy, I will probably need to lose more pre-op. We'll see. UGH!! I'm still looking for a May 11th surgery buddy! So how much are you paying? The same I hope. Take care!!

Congrats Teri! Mine is May 11th. I hope I will be experiencing the same thing you are... in time. I was shopping yesterday and looked at this awesome sweater on winter clearance. I wanted it so bad but then I thought to myself.... by next winter this will be too big! I was proud... even before I start! so I can imagine how proud and good you must feel after losing that much! Way to go.

Aww man! I am May 11th. It woulda been nice to finally find someone for the same day! Oh well. I'm sure I will eventually find one person. I am so freakin excited. Almost at the one month countdown mark!! YAY!

So whats the typical amount of time taken off work?

Just remember ... you only live once. I know it's a cliche but everyone has debt. EVERYONE. The thing is you will die with debt whether it's hundreds, thousands, or millions of dollars. SO live life to the fullest, get skinny, be happy and run up your bills.. if that's what it takes to get the money for the surgery. That's why my friends don't travel or buy expensive things. Because 'they want to stay debt free.' Screw that! Remember that life is a journey that ends the same for everybody... by getting put 6' in the ground. When you see Jesus and the pearly gates, your bank account won't matter. How you lived your life will. Take risks, take chances. You get one opportunity to be who you want to be. This is your life.

Welcome Mary Jane! I am new, too. My surgery is May 11th, Tijuana. So when you say accepted... by who do you get accepted? Have you heard anything yet? Maybe if they get you processed soon, you can go on May 11th with me!!

So do they give you anything for pain, nausea or gas? If no then I will be prepared to take some of my own meds. Thanks.

So I will know it when I see someone who's there for the surgery?

So I guess no one's scheduled for May 11th? Bummer.
