AshleyMarie
Hi All, I have my surgery scheduled for March 19 which is about 3 weeks away. I am just curious to what kinds of foods/liquids you would suggest. I am the type of person that will find one thing I love, have it everyday and when I get sick of it, I give up. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!!
Jnlebean
As for the pre-op diet, I had 2 shakes and one lean cuisine meal each day. If I was hungry I had green veggies! I enjoy the Myoplex lite shakes. I bought every flavor so i would not get sick of them! And the post op diet well....you drink for 21 days! So clear liquids and then day 10 you move to drinkable yogurt, and then day 14 you move on to shakes. Drink, Drink, Drink! I have been on solids for about 3 weeks now and I have been eating salads, fish and softer foods. Although I have gotten into the odd cracker and such! I know not to specific but there are so many people here, you will get lots of variety on suggestions. Depending on how much weight you need to lose before your surgery, I may suggest starting now and not waiting until 2 weeks prior, the hardest part for me so far was the pre-op diet, cause I knew i could eat so much more and get away with it! And I was happy that I started a month prior, mind you it was over Christmas, i didn't have the "oh my god am i going to lose enough before the surgery, are they going to cancel it if i don't lose this weight moment!" All the best, Jenelle

All the best, Jenelle I enjoyed The Lean Cuisines, and the Smart one's microwave meals. They were all pretty satisfying. I hated the shakes! I reccomend plugging your nose and chugging. Ugh! Good luck! It' s so worth it!
robbynnoel
Every doctor is different, but here are the guidelines given to me. I was allowed to start the program immediately so during my initial consultation I was 257. Today I'm at 239. Then again, he told me my calorie range is between 400 and 800 calories a day. 2 Weeks Before Surgery * Lose weight by a low carlorie, low carbohydrate dieting. or * Replace all meals with Pre-Op Kit. That's another reason why I reach for ISOPURE...they are 40 grams of protein each...so 2 are 80. They are 160 calories each, which is why I have to reach for something else in addition to that. robbynnoel
Yikes I found several hundred typos. My calorie range is between 400 and 800 calories per day PROVIDED I consume 80 grams of protein. xo Sorry about that. Every doctor is different, but here are the guidelines given to me.I was allowed to start the program immediately. During my initial consultation I weighed 257. Today I weigh 239.
