ToddS
Well, Leanne and I made it back home safely. Both surgeries went well. Hers took about 45 minutes. Mine, however, took over 3.5 hours. I had a previous surgery 12 years ago for acid reflux. It is a procedure called a Nissen Fundoplication. I guess mine was one of the most challenging surgeries they have ever done. I am not sure of all of the reasons why, but apparently the previous surgery was done well. Anyway, it took so long because the previous surgery had to be undone, then the lap-band placed, then the previous surgery needed to be put mostly back. (If I understand it all correctly.) We both met some wonderful folks while we were there and will remember the experience positively. I cannot say enough about the incredible care that we received. Dr. Ortiz and everyone else at the OCC are the best!

MrsParris
You must be the couple my husband Greg told me about. He was banded the same day. He's on his flight home now as I type. Here's to a speedy recovery and good luck with the weight loss.
